So I did mines with tomatoes, bonett pepper, green peppers, tyme with onions sautéed in olive oil after that a bit of ketchup then corn beef then mix it up! Served with white jasmine rice! Yum
You need an hour long cooking show, bro! I love that you share on UA-cam (shout out to UA-cam), but it would be awesome to have your own cooking show filled with the history of the recipes, stories from back home, shopping for ingredients, cooking buddies (aka appearances from the family lol) and of course, Cooking with Chris - Caribbean style! Love your videos. Love your recipes. Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Straight to the point no wasting time talking just step by step instructions. Corn beef looks delicious. I was wondering if you could do a goat fish video?
There’s a similarity how we cook corned beef in a can in the Philippines. Just like you said to stretch and feed a big family. We never eat the corned beef in a can unless it’s sautéed style with onions and garlic. Oh yeah we make omelette corned beef in a can sautéed on onions, garlic and green onions. Once it’s cook mix with one scrambled eggs and then fry. It’s good for a bread sandwich.
I Love that it feels like you are standing in my kitchen with the new HD on here. I am on a very limited budget and for the next 20 or so days I have a small amount of money for groceries. I am moving and had to save for it. This sounds like it will be a great meal. I have 2 cabbages in the fridge. I also have made a cabbage soup of sorts. I think I can add a tomato Yum.
i love corned beef with warm bread...yes!!!! oh and white rice, mac and cheese or spaghetti....and a lot of pepper sauce...oh boy....west indian cooking is boss
Thanks! Trying to use up old stock in pantry and needed a recipe for canned corned beef! Rotate those pantry items! I don't have any pepper other than dried, going to try to make do... ❤️
Interesting what you say about the price of corned beef. As a kid in the UK it was considered a "poor man's meat" But fairly recently it got to around £3 a tin which seemed expensive (to me at least!). Now I see it's down to around £1.50 a tin so I will be using it again. Will definitively try your recipe - thanks!
Yes it is considered as poor man meat but surprisingly it expensive even here in the caribbean close to $10xcd (Ec)...they telling lies on the meat lol
Dear Chris, I appreciate your recipes. They will work well when we return to Cameroon--many ingredients are available there, as the climate is not so different. Same Scotch Bonnets!
Lol same here! Real jamaican thingz.....my mom makes it backwards after she grilled the veggies she adds the corn beef with a little tomato paste a little water some pepper sauce then she adds the cabbage on top. Cover it on low heat and once the cabbage has sweated or wilted down and soaked up all the flavors. She stirs it all up and boom its done....fried dumpling, banana, yam, sweet potato(the white one not the American orange) brruuhhhh thinking about it now is making me hungry
Chris that looks a nice cheap meal, could of done with that for Notting Hill carnival just gone, your have to come over to visit London when carnival is on your love it.
Lol canned corned beef. I'm going to try this with left over corned beef. Try corned beef for real. My Caribbean friends love it. Hint: bake the fat off.
Chris, the seasoning peppers (pimento peppers), are these the sweets ones with no heat that we use in sofrito in PR? The audio keep fading in and out, I need new speakers. New subbie! : ) Thank you.
the ketchup is the traditional way (no doubt) but with this version I find you don't need it. The golden ray.. lets just say my mom warns me about the high cholesterol in that... though the taste is SO GOOD!
when doing it without cabbage I usually just empty the can of corned beef directly into the pot as I find there's enough fat in the corned beef so there's no need for any oil. The older you get the more you try to find ways to cut back on oil and salt.
Is cabbage suppose to be hard to cut? I bought one the other day and my knife could barely cut it. I thought i must have grabbed a bad one or something. I threw it away. I wanna try this recipe.
Love this tutorial… it’s not long and drawn out. Str8 to the point. Thank you
I made this (without the pepper) for my Canadian husband, he had never had corned beef with cabbage before ...... he LOVED it !!
Delicious and mouth watering corn beef and cabbage recipe. I recommend this recipe.

I know I'm pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good website to watch newly released movies online?
@Erick Manuel i would suggest Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)

Chris PLEASEEEEEE can you do a recipe for a fresh corned beef so we know what to do with it
when doing it without cabbage I usually just empty the can of corned beef directly into the pot as I find there's enough fat in the corned beef so there's no need for any oil. The older you get the more you try to find ways to cut back on oil and salt.

PockASqueeno definately cook it

What brand of corn beef did you use?
Grace is the real deal.
Sorry can you use coconut oil instead also can you substitute white cabbage for the red just curious
Not a fan of canned corn beef, but Ill try this.
No tomatoes?
the core (stem) at the bottom can be very tough and must be removed.
can I use corn mutton
Fariza Fizool. Of course you can if you do not eat beef then corned mutton is the perfect substitute
Corn beef all the way...
My understanding is that they don't make CB & C in Ireland. It is a US Irish immigrant invention.
