I would also like to point out, that Tayio Astroneering not only offers rounded top + bottom pieces, as you mentioned, but also distinguishes between Type A and Type B modules, where the latter has fuselages with side-connectors, whereas the former has not! This greatly enhances aestethics even futher, as you won't have to cover up unwanted connector points with portholes and/or other structures! As the rest of the people also said, this is a priceless series! One the game should have offered itself (as preview at the various stores),
yeah i kind of hate it lol. even tho its giving me the "utility" or "functionality" type but it feels a lot more like a military or transport aircraft's interior and i honestly dont feel like im in a spaceship whenever im in those habs. especially when you look at those floor rails and the walls for storage but honestly this part of it speaks practicality and functionality even more. Hopetech is kind of better at it, especially Nova Galactic, it speaks a lot of what would NASA look like if they made advanced technology, tools and what not, for space travel . i rlly love the exteriors but i want better cockpits. those cockpits reminds me of that one hotdog mobile
I desperately wish all these awesome interiors actually had.. literally *any* impact on gameplay, crew reactivity, conversation availability, optional radiant passenger interactions.. maybe even a few mission types that could take place inside the interior of your ship at a certain point. The bones are all there, but there's just so little meat on this corpse of a game for its price tag. Putting a hell of a lot of pressure on modders.
Very well done. It's a bit of a miss that they don't have a 'simulate walking through your ship' function in the builder in the game. Or even a 'view interior of this piece' function.
Ty for the interior views. It's been something of a goal of mine to build a wildly different yet cool ship design every ng+ run I do. These help a lot.
Once you have done a showcase of each locations own interiors, how about a series where you splice all rooms of a specific type together, for example, all computer core rooms, so that people can see the differences right away and then go back to the video of the location to get that room? At any rate, I am loving this series.
@@SpaceCoconut I did watch the intro, but I think I was distracted by someone else during the brief moment you mentioned it. My apologies. I caught it the 2nd time I went back an re-watched the intro of the first video, and look forward to the supercut when all is said and done.
These are great! Thank you for uploading these. No idea why Starfield doesn’t have some kind of walkthrough before you finalize. Glad I found your channel!
It's crazy what a difference a little lighting can make. Watching this after the Hope Tech video made me realize how dark and gloomy Hope Tech habs are, this makes Hope Tech look like a cave interior.
Perfect. I was hoping this was going to be your next one. XD I'll be using mostly Taiyo parts with a few Hope Tech ones mixed in, because they're mostly the same, just darker themed. I especially like the Hope Tech Captain's Quarters.
I was hoping Taiyo would have a more luxury focused interior, but its really just a cleaned up, brighter cargo variant, kinda pedestrian IMHO. Their bridge is not bad however. I could see Taiyo ships be really good for base level ship designs early on.
The thing I think Taiyo does best is adjust the lighting of a hab to suit its purpose. With a bit of experience you could probably tell what hab you were on in a Taiyo ship just by the style of lighting around you. I don't really like all the wasted space in their designs though. I feel like every Taiyo hab you install on a ship should increase your cargo capacity by 20kg just to compensate for the empty space available to secure materials.
These are great. One mod I'd love to see should give you an X-ray view mode so you can see where things are in a hab, and let you manually pick where a door will be. It's annoying to slap on a hab thinking the door will be in a good spot, only to find out your interior is now a maze.
So looking at the ship rooms alot of em are nearly identical between manufacturing groups- great example is the brig or mess hall- look at this, nova or hope they look way too samey. Looking more in the video it seems like its either a few rooms differing between the ship companies, or pallet changes like hope is more dark nova is white and taiyo is white bit ... simpler? ( like sortof sleeker ).
Are you planning on a companion video explaining what skills or traits at what level are needed and locations for specialist compartments like workshop and armory?
This was great, thank you. I'm building my Taiyo, and this has been super helpful. Question: Do all modules have ladders if stacked on each other or only if there wasn't a ladder before? Like will a ladder appear in each room that I'd stacked?
Yes you can. Build the ship at one place and then go to the next manufacturer and add the pieces you want. It might be best to add the same hab you want and swap it out when you get to the other manufacturer
Yeah. I kind of like it, and based on the descriptions I didn't think I would. Based on the concepts I thought I would like HopeTech more. but those interiors are pretty dark. And not in a cool way like Demos.
It feels Japandi inspired. But tech, kinda like Neon is Tokyo inspired. And with my first character having completed the Ryujin Industry, storyline first, Taiyo feels like the best fit for him.
What would be good would be new weathered and damaged exterior and interiors depending on how damaged the ship is! 2x2x2 or3x3x3 engine room would be cool
Yeah, and Stroud-Eckland does the same with Deimos designs, just slapping on a drab, private jetliner atmosphere to pass it off as civilian fare. For my habs it has to be a mix of Deimos and Nova, depending on the purpose of the hab.
What would be nice is if you done vids for say comparing every cockpit in one vid, then another vid for every control room etc we viewers can plan our builds then hehe :)
11:45 your hab has a pharmaceutical lab in it. Mine does not. There is no door that would block it from being there. Do you know why mine wouldn't have the lab?
Does make one happy to see the amount of detail that the hard surface modelers put into these modules. It also makes sense as to how one would appreciate using these different ship manufacturers for a single build as opposed to just slapping together a hodge podge mess like you see many players doing. It does not change anything other than aesthetics but still. If you are all anal like me then you would take time to plan out builds. lol
How did you get the door to be on the side of the captain's quarters, this looks like style A but when I try that one it always forces me to use a ladder coming from beneath to get into it?
Anyone else generally worried about the state of unsecured items about? I understand they’re decoration but they feel like they oughta’ be tied down lol. (thanks for the vid tour)
I think connecting some of these habs from the sides vs the ends and vis versa even changes the décor a bit. I swear I've had multiple variations of the 2x1 armory. Same builder, but I was messing around trying to get the habs to connect differently inside through trial and error. I wish I knew what adding a porthole was making disappear or changing inside. Or what adding a companion way was changing inside without having to walk inside and then realize it's just a ladder to nowhere. I wish I knew the order to connect things in to get them to align inside how I imagine they should. Ship building can be tricky and there is no way to see what you're changing inside with trail and error. Shame
I don’t think the living quarters has one, but the 2x1 All-in-one berth does actually. He just has a door where it would’ve gone. It occupies the back left side. It also has a second set of beds where he has another door in back right section. I like the berth a lot more than the living quarters because it has everything if you ladder in or put your door in the right spot.
Taiyo and Stroud are really the leaders in shipbuilding. Deimos can just stick to cheap, utilitarian military vessels and Nova should just cater to the budget segment. Hopetech? That's for space hippies.
lol I have the option to turn it on, but I don't want to take ppl's money until I'm making really good videos :) these are just resources I wanted and decided to share lol but I appreciate the sentiment Edit: My wife yelled at me so I turned Super Thanks on for my videos lol
...I know this is weird, but part of the reason I don't use Taiyo habs for AIO or living quarters options is because I hated the bathroom that they have in it. Makes no sense because you can't even use the bathroom, I know, but it just annoyed me. If you don't understand, go look for yourself. Put in a Taiyo AIO or living quarter hab and look at the bathroom. The toilet has this shelf-life protrusion right above it which would make having to sit on it and use it a terrible experience. Even if I can't use the toilet in-game, I'm not going to subject my digital crewmembers to such a horrible toilet fate.
These are so unique and useful videos! Literally nobody else is doing this and everyone wants to see it.
lots of people are doing it actually but these are done well
I would also like to point out, that Tayio Astroneering not only offers rounded top + bottom pieces, as you mentioned, but also distinguishes between Type A and Type B modules, where the latter has fuselages with side-connectors, whereas the former has not! Taiyo has sleek and good looking exteriors, and cheap, dystopian interiors
yeah i kind of hate it lol. even tho its giving me the "utility" or "functionality" type but it feels a lot more like a military or transport aircraft's interior and i honestly dont feel like im in a spaceship whenever im in those habs. especially when you look at those floor rails and the walls for storage but honestly this part of it speaks practicality and functionality even more. Yeah, I can pretty easily build a taiyo ship that looks good externally and has hatches where I want them. The interior is just painfully dull
You're doing the Lord's work here, @SpaceCoconut . Thank you.
Very well done. It's a bit of a miss that they don't have a 'simulate walking through your ship' function in the builder in the game. Or even a 'view interior of this piece' function.
I dont understand why they didnt have a level testing feature for it… was my first thought
Or even just a description ffs
Ty for the interior views. It's been something of a goal of mine to build a wildly different yet cool ship design every ng+ run I do. These help a lot.
Thank you again. Really appreciate you doing this as I've wasted hours already trying to get the interiors.
This series has been amazing. I’ve referred back to ALL the videos multiple times to plan execute builds.
THANK YOU!

@johnsimonson1207 oh I see lol I’m totally willing to try to put them together that way cuz I know I still need to see them side by side like that 🤓

Deimos is way nicer ;)
Great videos! One of the things sorely lacking in this game is interior preview. Thanks for the work!
Thank you for these. They're informative and easing the massive anxiety I'm feeling trying to make the perfect ship.
We really appreciate what you’re doing thank you so much.
Wish we could recolor the interiors. Not everyone loves bright blandness.
@@loC2ol lol you sound like a hope sales rep
Hey you can get dark blandness too!
I hadnt even realised where Taiyo Engineering HQ was :D
bro, this whole place hidden behind an elevator button
Thank you for doing these, it's a huge help.
I hope you get time to do all of the manufacturers
All 5 monstrosities are finished. I’m recording walkthroughs and editing the last 3
Bro!! Thanks for this! Dont stop make this videos of interiors, please! Thanks for help
Thanks for videos. I can't get over how nice the cockpit is compared to the overall style of the ship - my fav cockpit though.
Thank you for showing the information that is important to ship building besides the external
Perfect. I was hoping this was going to be your next one. XD
I'll be using mostly Taiyo parts with a few Hope Tech ones mixed in, because they're mostly the same, just darker themed. I especially like the Hope Tech Captain's Quarters.
Awesome vids. Super helpful resource for those of us who want to build the perfect ship (but have no idea how to) :D
Please continue, this type of videos are unique and I can't fucking wait to see more
These videos are awesome! So useful, thanks!
Hmm.. Taiyo is kinda similar with hopetech but has a brighter color and more space to move around, anyway thanks again for the great showcase!
I was hoping Taiyo would have a more luxury focused interior, but its really just a cleaned up, brighter cargo variant, kinda pedestrian IMHO.
Their bridge is not bad however. I could see Taiyo ships be really good for base level ship designs early on.
Thanks for the video's, nice to see before you buy, can't tell you how many I bought without seeing and then not liking :)

Just for the lols can you please fly these monstrosities around.
😂🤣😂🤣🤣

So technically, Tayo/Hopetech and Deimos/Straud share the same interiors, just with different color palettes. Nova seems to be the only unique.
I needed these. Thanks.
this is very much needed!
I like the Taiyo ,reminds me of some of the interiors from Aliens 👍👍
Maaaan, im going to build Normandy interior as closest as possible! Thanks for your videos.
Kinda has a starwars rebel alliance feel to it.
Thank you for this, Dam Taiyo has 8 different kinds of these 3x2 Habs and its like wtf is on the inside
I like the captain's quarters on taiyo but i relly don't understand why they put the dirt on the wall. so annoying. i wanna clean it
Taiyo seems cleaner interiors.. .. thank you for making the videos😅😅
Are you planning on a companion video explaining what skills or traits at what level are needed and locations for specialist compartments like workshop and armory?
I could look into it.
This was great, thank you. I'm building my Taiyo, and this has been super helpful. Question: Do all modules have ladders if stacked on each other or only if there wasn't a ladder before? Like will a ladder appear in each room that I'd stacked?
Looks very similar to Hopetech except the rooms are much brighter and the soft furniture is a little better.
And easily the best captains quarters by far
Amazing what a change of color does to the feeling of every room compared to hopetech!
Thank you!
Awesome videos!!! Deimos next??? Pls
Deimos is in fact next :)
Can you mix and match manufacturers I want my crew quarters and living space to be nice but my workshops, brig and cargo bays to be industrial
Yes you can. Build the ship at one place and then go to the next manufacturer and add the pieces you want.
It might be best to add the same hab you want and swap it out when you get to the other manufacturer
Thanks for the info can’t wait to get a chance to play!
Taiyo seems to have a minimalist, pristine aesthetic to it
Yeah. I kind of like it, and based on the descriptions I didn't think I would. Based on the concepts I thought I would like HopeTech more. but those interiors are pretty dark. And not in a cool way like Demos.

My least used producer... the modules seem so empty.
Can’t find the captains quarters or the science lab anywhere. Been to the supplier over numerous days and these parts are never stocked!
What would be good would be new weathered and damaged exterior and interiors depending on how damaged the ship is!
2x2x2 or3x3x3 engine room would be cool
Ty for the vids, Taiyo is pretty good but their cockpits are kinda limited
Tiayo definitely be ripping some desgins off from Hope Tech hahah

Mentioned that in the first video
What's the storage capacity of the safe in the computer core 2x2? 10:09
11:45 your hab has a pharmaceutical lab in it. Mine does not. There is no door that would block it from being there. Do you know why mine wouldn't have the lab?
Door’s don’t make sense. Rearrange it to have a door on the opposite end and check it then. Also, double check the manufacturer
thanks

I think it has a spartan/military feel. More so than Deimos.
How'd you make the tunnel by the computer room???
Hallways are sold by hopethech
😂 at the toilet in the middle of the shower.
Some people want to poop in the rain…
How did you get the door to be on the side of the captain's quarters, this looks like style A but when I try that one it always forces me to use a ladder coming from beneath to get into it?
I force doors with hallways. It’s mentioned in the Hope video intro

I simply cannot use the Hope Tech and Taiyo living quarters. That cuck-chair thing they have going has killed the aesthetic for me.
For priding themselves as being the luxury brand, Taiyo has some pretty disappointing interiors.
My stoned ass would definitely get lost in that ship
I got lost sober a couple of times lol
Thx for the vid.
