Nova bridge with the unique stairs instead of ladders is the best alongside the huge Deimos one. Stroud one needed consoles and screens for the crew seats.
@AP-lh1bq Agreed, I've been using it for a while as the exterior fit my ship, but the viewing angles from 1st person while in combat aren't ideal either.
The crew seats with no consoles completely break the immersion for me. On a ship, the bridge is navigation control. You need stations for other crew to manage systems and coordinate actions. An open bridge can help with ergonomics and fatigue, but empty chairs in a command bridge just take up space without serving any benefit. I refuse to use Stroud Ekland bridges and Taiyun cockpits. Ekland's Viking is good, though. Feels like a bridge despite being a cockpit.
Out of all the cockpits, I've found the Viking one by Stroud Ecklund to be the most functional. It's light, has four crew stations, three external mounting points, and two weapon bays underneath the nose. It's also rather roomy inside, which is pretty important because it means crewmates don't block your way as often when you need to enter or exit. I just hate how restrictive your view is when piloting in first person mode, but that shouldn't be a problem to people who prefer piloting in 3rd person.
Yeah I only fly in 1st person. I had this cockpit for a long time cuz it looks so good and cozy. But I couldn't use it anymore once I saw how much view I was missing out on
The nova bridge has a similar problem, anything below the window is obscured so I typically take to flying in 3rd person or if I am flying in 1st person I tend to keep the top of my ship facing the opponents... which is also ideal since most of my turret arcs are above the ship. Personally think the Deimos Aries bridge is the best when it comes to situational awareness. Not a great view because everything is broken up by supports but it let's you see pretty good in all directions. Also nice if you like to see the surroundings of your ship when your landed.
I agree. I really tried to make a ship I have work with a different cockpit, because of the restricted view, but the interior just never worked as well. I would love a viking cockpit that replaces some of the metal panels above the pilot with glass.

Weird decoration choice, but no accounting for taste I guess!
I dunno, it would be more cool to move left and right secondary seats a little back, and give them tables with controls, like in viking, and also give 1 shelf with stuff and buttons behind the seats, like in airplanes, instead of having empty room.
I'm gonna build a ship so small that it has the minimum parts required. It's basically just gonna be a cockpit with engines strapped to the back. Plus a bay and docker sense they're required.
No, that's my favorite bridge in the game but it requieres to be installed on bigger ships due to it's size, plus I love military ships instead of civillian looking ones.
One thing that really impressed me about Starfield is that you can completely see the differences in the general theme of the ship designs with each manufacturer. One thing I've stated is that as you are building your ship, don't be surprised if you aren't hitting up each manufacturer up even if it is just for a single piece. You might like the layout of the habs with Taiyo, the bridge of Deimos, and the hull pieces from Stroud Eklund. And one thing the game tries to tell you is that each manufacturer excels specifically in one area of ship design. So to get that one piece to max out the capability of your ship, you may need to hit up multiple ship yards / production areas. One area of the game I think that will become apparent is that future expansions will cross over into more prototype designs and by completing certain missions you will gain unique accesses to a part not available anywhere else in the galaxy. And because the part is a "prototype" it can't even be found on other ships you can capture.
Sadly it isn't true about the inside of the habs tho. There are essentially just 3 designs - Nova and then Taiyo/HopeTech and Stroud/Deimos which both are the same except for a colour theme, it's a bit of a pity especially since Stroud is supposed to focus on corporate civilian ships and Deimos is military. Or HopeTech is this basic but sturdy cargo ships company while Taiyo is supposed to be stylish and a bit luxurious but it looks the same as cargo ships only in white. Also some of those designs that aren't Nova just kind of often feel rushed like it is just a storage room with a bunch of furniture thrown there while Nova is just so unique and so well thought through, it's rooms all feel like real places. Almost like they only planned to have Nova at first and then added other manufacturers in a hurry or i don't know.

They insist on making these building sims but still can't create adequate AI pathing. My crew has to teleport around because the AI can't figure out how to walk through doors or climb up and down ladders. Oh and don't get me started on the settler AI in the Fallout 4 settlements.

Some of the bridges look ok but they all suffer from that IMO. I just stick to the cockpits because they seem more reasonable in terms of space being a huge premium in a starship. Viking with windows on the attach points is really nice and feels realistic enough.
@@TRG29338 someone on r/Starfieldships was kind enough to post slices of their Terran battle cruiser. Running the ares on that one and loving the style. Just can't wait for real mods to come out to improve the current stock and add more
The only thing I don't like about the Nova 2 staircase bridge, is that if you look from the outside the windows are filthy. There's stains all over them. Whereas other glass looks clean on other cockpits. A beautiful setup but filthy glass outside especially when you can give it a fresh paint job but you can't clean the glass
First off; awesome vid! Great work. But if I may add some constructive critique; The ladder view each time was a bit long, and the storage etc too. Would have loved to see a more overview from the back for longer instead, cuz when skipping to a previous one to check again, I could hardly find the whole shot so to speak. I dont want to step on toes here, again, awesome to get a overview, and commend the hard work. that would be the cherry on the cake, if that was more in the vid, just like the external hardpoints. Keep it up, you clearly have what it takes to be a great yt channel.
Thank you for sharing , and helping take the guesswork out of shipbuilding , each have their own personality , from bubble gum & duct tape , to state of the art !
This must have taken ages to make this video! Wow, well done! 👍 I have almost 200 hours in and my first ship modification was a total re-design of the Kepler R. You can build a pretty decent Class C ship with just Stroud-Eklund parts. And indeed the outpost landing pad is the best place to build because it has the most (basic) parts from every manufacturer. 🤟
Some of those bridges should have an option for entering them through the rear from a deck instead of climbing a ladder into them. They also look too much like old school....not futuristic like the Aries or the Cabot. The Cabot is my fav. but a smaller version for sleek fighter ship designs would be nice. Same with the Aries...but the it has wasted space and should have an optional stairway like the Cabot. A smaller version of the Aries would be nice too.
Well done sir. I have shred this and your hab showcase, with numerous people and on several Discord servers. I have referenced it several times when planning shi[ builds. Vert well done indeed.
While Stroud and Deimos have some really nice setups there is just something about the Cabot (and not just the stairs lol). It gives off a closeness type of vibe. You and your crew have gone through hell for and with each other. This ship is your home more then any other place. Overall it has this cozy yet professional feel. Side Note: with the ability to now decorate and a little mod called My Price - No one dies My head cannon is now complete. :)
yeah, the interior symmetry is definitely off as a result. When you have an outside view you always put your pilot in the center to minimize restrictions in their view.
@superdave8248 yup I mean it might not be as bad if the pilot was responsible for just the flight of the craft and you had a dedicated gunner but in Stanfield the pilot is responsible for both so off to the side makes no sense.
Would've been so cool to have 3 pilot seats, left right and middle, and you could actually use the one you want depending on the view you prefer... maybe a mod later...
Nice viewing of the various Stroud Ekland Bridges.... 1) Had to turn the loud music off.... 2) @8:50...Your listing all the Bridges available...yet not the one your Showcasing. Are all the Viking CP- 100 / 110 / 200/210/ 220 the SAME ??
Yeah, the only thing that changes is the cargo capacity and overall mass. It is worth noting that the cargo gained per point of mass is far more efficient than a proper cargo pod, so it is generally worth getting the fancier models of cockpit/bridge if you want the cargo capacity.
Ive played this game so much ive forgotten every other game i have played plus ive built mainly cargo ships and my experience its way more worth it to upgrade the ship i have because its cheaper that way then buying a new ship
thank you much, the one thing we need in ship building is a visual inside of all the Habs and Bridge/Cockpits. Do the different tpe of Habs next. :D Thank you
Nicely put together vid. Well picked soundtrack too. I've yet to start my ship building career, but this answered a couple of my building questions. I trust there is similar capability of viewing other compartments of ship building before building them into your ship and finding it isn't what you're after? Do you have plans to expand to include other habs and compartments into upcoming videos?
Awesome vid. Feel like I'm buying a car or something lol, having to look up youtube vids to see what will be best for me. They really should add bridge preview. Even just a still image would give good idea.
This was thorough but I wish you would have showed the vendors first and where to find them AND THEN showed us what they sell rather than split it up at the end. It would have been easier to follow, I had to be scrubbing back n forth a bit. I appreciate and salute the work you put in though bravo! 😊
if you build a ship pad at an outpost you get access to ALL ship parts when you enter the ship builder (appropiate to your level) Some you may not see if your not a high enough level/not enough game progress.
This is how to do a showcase video. Clean, concise, with some appropriate background music. I appreciate the slow panning of the cockpits, and I especially appreciate the lack of YO GUYZ WAZZUP CHECK DIS OWT HEREZ SOME CUTZ ERREY TOO SECONDZ WHILE I OCCASIONALLY SHOW SUM ACKCHEWULL USEFUL STUFF buffoonery with an annoying track in the background. Only suggestion would be to have shown the various animations for sitting down in the pilot’s seat.
The Deimos cockpit has probably my favorite exterior design, but at the same time my least favorite interior. It just feels cramped and has no places for crew to sit (they never use them anyways but I like to pretend they’re there while I’m flying)
Well made. I did like the cockpit that had the navigation table. Wonder if they all (in that series) have that? The Shroud Eckland would have been my pick if it had a table turned sideways just inside the door. REf: 09:07 Just as you open the door you could fig a sideways nav console there. There is even an outline on the floor. :)
Thanks for doing this, but I'm still confused about what the differences are between the variants from each manufacturer. For example HopeTech's Overseer 300 vs 300E vs 400?
Do you know anything about the Nova-Galactic Magellan C2X (NASA) cockpit? I assume it unlocks after that mission, but i can't find any info on it. It's the one I use and it seems just like the regular C2X but with a NASA logo on the side..
This is exactly the video I have been looking for, awesome work, thank you!

Just can't wait for real mods to come out to improve the current stock and add more
I like the Nova Bridge best from the inside, but with this shape it is difficult to build a large ship that looks good.
Take a look at the Ecliptic Claymore. It nails the large ship look with that bridge.
I have the same problem. It's either that or my creativity is shit. My ship looks like a giant stingray when flying.
Very good video; simple and to the point and very informative as to where to get said items. Thanks alot!
That Nova Cabot....chef's kiss.
Thank you for sharing , and helping take the guesswork out of shipbuilding , each have their own personality , from bubble gum & duct tape , to state of the art !
This is such a must watch for any shipbuilding enthusiast.. Great work.
Cheers.
Love the dude at 0:46 hiding behind a plant to stare at the cubical wall. We've all been there.
Wow nice job with the chapters and the presentation !
Thanks. Check the habs video also, if you care about the interior ua-cam.com/video/g7hMVAqgoxg/v-deo.htmlsi=F5TMh18WOJgHwBXw
You are the hero the starfield needs.
This must have taken ages to make this video! Wow, well done! 👍
I have almost 200 hours in and my first ship modification was a total re-design of the Kepler R. You can build a pretty decent Class C ship with just Stroud-Eklund parts. And indeed the outpost landing pad is the best place to build because it has the most (basic) parts from every manufacturer. 🤟
This is the (most cost-effective) way.
Brilliant Guide. Amazing work!!!!
Great video, I keep coming back to refer to this when I'm doing work on my spaceships.
Mans focused on the exact same 3 interactable objects each time loooool
3:29 This is my favorite!
Thanks so much for this guide. Not being able to see the inside of the ship while building it is a big minus.
This was great, super helpful! Question, what is the Auxiliary Panel do? It's next to the cargo panel many times.
It's part of the main story (towards the end).
God bless you. What is the purpose for checking cargo holds and stuff?
Some of those bridges should have an option for entering them through the rear from a deck instead of climbing a ladder into them. They also look too much like old school....not futuristic like the Aries or the Cabot. The Cabot is my fav. but a smaller version for sleek fighter ship designs would be nice. Same with the Aries...but the it has wasted space and should have an optional stairway like the Cabot. A smaller version of the Aries would be nice too.
At what levels do you unlock these though? Plenty of ship modules are level locked (same goes for weapon loot).
Thanks for the video. I can see you really spent time touring us around them. Thanks 🙏
This is how you make a video thanks for the help I've been looking for that nova bridge for so long
Great video thanks! Great music as well!
Well done sir. I have shred this and your hab showcase, with numerous people and on several Discord servers. I have referenced it several times when planning shi[ builds. Vert well done indeed.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
The thing I hate about the Deimos large bridges is how the put the pilot off to the left instead of in the center like every other bridge
yeah, the interior symmetry is definitely off as a result.
It's the most miltary like, but considering miltary if they have a bridge, should have had a captain ls chair to control out of in the center
I hate that so much
I really appreciate the music choice for this vid. I wasted expecting to get zenned out but I am now :)
Just whish we could change the inside like add themese too each manufacturer.
Also whats Build Armillary?
Armillary is a part of the main story, and you'll get to it eventually. It's not that big of a deal, to be honest, so you're not missing out on much.
Sir, you have earned yourself a subscriber today. From the music, editing, and the idea for the video is absolutely fantastic.
Thank you.
In addition to the great tours, 10/10 music
Stairs ftw!! We need more bridges and habs with stairs.
Ive played this game so much ive forgotten every other game i have played plus ive built mainly cargo ships and my experience its way more worth it to upgrade the ship i have because its cheaper that way then buying a new ship
Perfect! Really wished the HopeTech bridge had an aft access option.
same it the most coolest one, coz it does not have empty seats
thank you much, the one thing we need in ship building is a visual inside of all the Habs and Bridge/Cockpits. Do the different tpe of Habs next. :D Thank you
Thank you. It's coming in a day or two. I just finished recording ALL hab interiors so expect another useful video soon.
Shame the Taiyo "bridge" is the exact same as the cockpit, would have loved to see a big bridge in their style
Great video man, thank you. Cheers 🍻
Thank you for doing Bethesda's job!
Y'all delete this comment I don't care. Dude this video fucking rocks. Well done.
The rest of the interiors coming really soon.
@@hqgamingnews awesome... looking forward to it.
Why do you click on the cargo hold, captain's locker, etc. for everyone?
NB// YOU'RE A LEGEND!
There's a bunch of different videos to showcase this, but this is hands down the best video for it so far. Thanks for making this video!
You're welcome! Hab interiors coming right up! (as soon as I sort the stupid rendering issues with my editing software, that is)
Stroud/Ecklund has another vendor on the main strip of Neon.
Hi! Great video!! Ty!!
Where did you find the Stroud Bridge type 2? I only got the Type 1 to show up. Is it by the ship modules perks?
some are hidden behind perks some by player level it’s frustrating to figure out.
Omg thanks exactly what I needed👍👍
What is the difference between the four Ares Bridges?
This is a service to all of mankind. :D
Excellent job! Hope you can make similar video about Hab as well
Thank you. The hab interiors video is coming later today.
Love the big nova bridge.
The Deimos cockpit has probably my favorite exterior design, but at the same time my least favorite interior. It just feels cramped and has no places for crew to sit (they never use them anyways but I like to pretend they’re there while I’m flying)
Thanks dude. Nice video.
YES. What I’ve been looking for
Best Vid. Thanks 💪
SO MUCH TIME looking for the viking's cockpit cargo space terminal and it was right there -_-"
Thank you
a massive help. thank you so much!
Thx, exactly what I needed 👍🏻🙂
Stroud Captain's Quarters. 2x1 has a nav table.
@@Eyebrows842 Thanks i'll give it a look.
that was awesome thanks. didnt need to clik on all the inventories each time though lol
But what is the difference between the Nova C4 bridge with stairs, and the Nova Cx3/C3 bridges?
I wasnt able to tell, but can someone tell me which other cockpits/bridges have a chair that spins besides the deimos one.
Do the different models mean same interior but different exterior? Thanks
Same interior and exterior, just slighlty different stats.
Which is the one with stairs? I thought it was Deimos?
I love you for this! Hope to see one for Habs too!
On its way.
Exactly what I wanted! Thank you so much!
Habs are coming next. 😉
Thanks for doing this, but I'm still confused about what the differences are between the variants from each manufacturer. For example HopeTech's Overseer 300 vs 300E vs 400?
Just stats. 300E will have more hull and cargo than a 300. Visually identical though
@@pferno954 oh! thanks!
Do you know anything about the Nova-Galactic Magellan C2X (NASA) cockpit?
I assume it unlocks after that mission, but i can't find any info on it.
It's the one I use and it seems just like the regular C2X but with a NASA logo on the side..
