The lady at the beginning is Philomena begley she's a very well known and successful Irish country singer. She's a country legend all over Ireland and very popular in other parts of the world too.
Im not too sure but it was either this or another show with Irish singer Brian Coll introducinh Slim Whitman to the stage. There is some pictures around of it.

It was known as the troubles (1968-1998) when violence broke out against people who wanted to join Ireland and people who wanted to stay with the UK. Peace was made but there are still tensions to this day. It’s a very contentious issue. Edit: Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland, just for context

I met Slim several times in the 70's when he toured GB. An amazing genuine guy. Sadly missed. RIP.
