  • This is excellent one of Slim's best. It illustrates his range and use of those beautiful falsetto breaks that we love so much. The piece at the end is a bonus for you. The back story on that is Slim's "Rose Marie" in 1955 was number one on the charts for 11 consecutive weeks in the UK. A record Slim held for nearly 4 decades. Byran Adams was able to break that record with "Everything I Do, I Do for you." So, he invited Slim over to England to perform it with him.

    I live about 15 miles from where Slim lived. Often saw him about. One of a kind.

    No words are enough to describe this wonderful legend,he is a hart breaker, when it comes to songs, not just the choice of songs, his indescribable voice, he breaks my hart , love you slim Whitman, ❤️❤️❤️

    1953 het jaar van de watersnoodramp tien jaar oud was ik ,hoorde rose marie voor het eerst , in die tijd had ik nog niet zoveel met muziek maar dit nummer heeft wel iets met mij gedaan want vanaf die tijd ben ik meer naar muziek gaan luisteren,en nu ben ik de 8 kruizen gepasseerd en vindt zijn muziek nog steeds geweldig.❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊

      Ik kom nog even terug op slim Whitman,1953 de watersnoodramp ramp,waar ik ook mee te maken heb gehad,dit jaar licht mij dus nog vers in het geheugen.exacte datum van slim Whitman rose marie deze gehoord te hebben kan ik niet geven maar wel de watersnoodramp en rond die tijd,kan ook een later jaar geweest zijn hoorde ik dit nummer van uit een cafetaria en vanuit daar is mijn interesse in muziek begonnen dit was het zo'n beetje!.

    The quality of this concert is better than what has been posted before. I believe this is from Ireland sometime in the 80s. Ghost Riders in the Sky, here, is probably the best live version of it, that I've seen on video. Thanks again Loren for posting.

    I’ve spent a lot of time in Tampa and friends went to Hillsboro High with Slim. I often wonder how he got to Middleburg. Maybe met Jeri there?

    This posting is very much appreciated, I discovered Slim Whitman when living in Texas in the 1980's, after seeing his TV ads, selling direct to the viewer (the first artist, incidentally, who had ever done this).

      I discovered Slim in the late 60's. How Great Thus Art grabbed my attention. That's when I started working on Slim Whitman stuff and became his friend.

      He was a big fan of Slim's we visited quite awhile in Slim's dressing room at the Golden Nugget Casino where he (Slim) was performing. I have some great photos and memories.
