Thanks for the video guys. I drifted in neutral and bumped into a Ford Focus. Absolutely no damage to the Focus; snapped most of the "tongues on the bumper - the shit they build - even dependable Toyota - is cheaper by the year! I bought 2002 Tacoma and totaled it in 2018. So bummed - such a better truck!
Been searching for a video on just such a removal. Going to be painting mine soon
Hi i need to remove the grill to replace that part ? Thanks
May I ask what is the replacement oem part number?
You know the part number of the blue clips ?
Hey so maybe you can explain, wouldn't you just be able to pop it back in without removing the grill?
yeah I stepped on my bumped and it busted off so I can just pop a new one back in after snapping the plastic pieces behind with dikes. I'm hoping
I like the Stingray bumper by relentless fabrication, just the center is perfect. Light and half the price of any decent bumper. Nothing like a steel plate up front.
I really like that bumper as well! That may have to be a future mod!
I know this video is mad old but where did you get your black valance from if you remember?
I ordered it from a local Toyota dealer.
Do you know how to replace the small grill in between the fog lights?
I never removed that, sorry
What is that piece called?
I was hoping you were going to take the money from the insurance company to replace your bumper and get an aftermarket one. Either way, I enjoyed your video. 👍
I never turned the bumper in to the insurance company to save myself some money in the long run!
where did you buy the license plate bracket?
There is no license plate bracket, just two screws that go through the plastic in the bumper.
Teamwork👍
Where's the bumper removal ? ? ?
Dam I have to do all this to fix the holes from the front plate. I guess I cant complain since I got my replacement pice for free
Any chance this can be done with out cutting? I just want to paint mine and be able to reinstall it.
It could be done without cutting, it would just be a little more tedious. All of the clips could be pinched from the right angle, either from the top (after you remove the grill) or from the bottom. I would make sure that all of the parts are at room temperature before trying to take this apart, since plastic can become so brittle when cold!
Bandit Off-road right on! Really appreciate everything you guys do for fellow toyota enthusiasts! Thanks for the tips.
TheNile Rivas did you ever do it without cutting? I’m trying to paint mines and reinstall also
Just found your channel today while searching for 2016 tacomas, I'm looking into buying a Tacoma now to replace my full size dodge, do you think these trucks are worth switching to over a full size?
It really all depends in what you need in a truck. I will say that a new Tacoma is much easier to drive and on gas, but if you tow a lot, it may not be the truck for you.
I actually went out to the local Toyota dealership to test drive, and bought my 2017 Taco SR a few days ago! I love this truck already and it's packed with everything that I need for everything that I accomplish on a daily basis👍 Videos to come!
That's great sir, I'm glad to hear it! Keep us updated on your adventures!
I am going to replace thisnon my truck. Mine is white andni wil replace with black. My question is when u cut those clips...did you have to dig the parts out that were left in the bumper or wtf?
They clips that were cut were part of the black insert and easily came out of the bumper.
Bandit Off-road I’m looking to replace my painted one with the black one is it a must that I have to cut the tabs as it is in good shape
3 years, hope you are still available and have a good memory. Was curious whether the clips were part of the new cap, already installed on it, or if you had installed them off camera?
You're correct, the clips were all molded into the bumper cap
Bandit Off-road - except the blue corner clips, correct? I’ll bother you no more. THANKS!
@@bgk71 that's exactly right. You're not a bother at all. Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
The damage didn't look bad to me I would have saved money for a winch bumper arb or similar cbi makes a nice front bumper for the taco great video
With the way the bumper was hit, it was impossible to reinstall the license plate.. Thanks for watching!
No problem great videos you guys make
Jared Dodge Thank you sir!
Your welcome. Watch every Tuesday's
Hey brother, my front bumper was just hit as well. Do you know the part number for the replacement?
try "bumper trim (front) part# 53911-04210" exactly how it is written on my local Toyota description page from when I just picked mine up for my 2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4
@Nick Warner: Thank you so much for the info, take care 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Where did you order the black front bumper?!?
I ordered everything directly from Toyota
Bandit Off-road I have the same thing like that of the front bumper but I want to make.sure it will solve the problem and that what I need , is it ok if I send you a picture of my truck it's a 2017 Tacoma same thing of the front black bumper lower trim panel it's called is it ok i send you pictures so you can see it and what I need to fix ?
Let's Go Caps!!
Absolutely!
Do you have the part number of the piece? Thanks
I'm not sure of the part number. I just showed the dealer the broken part and they helped me order the part.
Bandit Off-road Do you remember what you paid for that plastic bumper?
It’s called the lower trim panel and I just received my new one, so I go to install it but didn’t realize I needed the blue clips..it just won’t work without them. , when the panel fell off , I may not have picked up all the parts, I hit a high curb and that panel came flying off... thanks for the video, this helped a lot.
Now I need to go find blue clip parts.
blackjack6934 Glad we could help! I'm sure our friends at Sparks Parts could hook you up with some new clips and send them to you. Be sure to use Promo Code BANDIT for a discount at checkout!
Bandit Off-road Do I just need 2 ?
Pedestrian crumple zone 🤣 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
It was like new
same
Dang dude I wish I would have thrown mine i away I would have given it to you
It's all good man, I do appreciate the offer though!
Isn't that considered the front bumper valence and not the front bumper? The local Toyota dealership referred to it as front bumper trim on my parts list description though. Part # 53911-04210.
Correct. Valance, trim seems to used analogously
it's a bumper. it's a truck. things go bump.
True but the idea is to take care of it and not screw it up
Should have used this as an excuse to get an aftermarket bumper!
The Strength Doc aftermarket bumpers are ugly and reduce payload. They also transfer more energy from impacts to your body rather than the rest of the truck.
it's definitely a cost/benefit. i personally like the look though for me the advantage is primarily a better approach angle and winch mounting. with the stock bumper i've almost ripped it off a few times if it wasn't for my spotter
That would have been much more expensive!
what up everybady hahah this always doing shit with truck
What?
BUCK MASTERSON 6363 .... lol. I am trying to decipher that comment too, lol.
I think he meant to say "what's up everybody. This guys is always working (updating) his truck"

rpughly 10 mins too long but thanks
i can't believe you replaced that crappass plastic with more crapassplastic. perfect opportunity to put a real bumper on that toyo.
you should of skipped reinstalling the lic. plate man
Eric Price We cannot do that because it is state law in Virginia to have a front and rear license plate.
I'm going to order a replacement bumper just to remove the pre drilled factory bumper, I hate front plates. it's state law in California but I've never been ticketed for it.
Daniel Salazar that doesn't mean other people haven't.
6:03 nooooo don’t drill the bumper!! Leave that plate off 😢
Realistically tacomas dont have a bumper in the front end its a piece of cosmetic plastic molding a real bumper is metal bolted to the the frame & that isnt one & 250$ for a sheet of plastic is an absolute joke that toyota charges to replace that plastic sheet when it only costs about 10$ to make it everything is way over marked up & the fat cats of toyota are laughing at the consumers all the way to the bank...
The title is wrong, they never replaced the bumper.
