Man, that was a feel bad batch of pulls, I do appreciate the fact you take it in stride rather than ranting like some other youtubers. I had a good run myself, got Yorktown on my fist 10 pull, ended up 60 pulls to get all the gatcha onlys (+ Hornet II), and got a Second Yorktown to boot.
Getting the Northampton skin was an easy choice! I was deciding between Noshiro and Heinrich, but Noshiro barely won in the end. Her swimsuit is so simple and yet so elegant! Took me also around 160 pulls to get Yorktown 2, so hopefully next time we both will have more luck!
Just got mine Yorktown II after 330 cubes spent, plus done 7 hours of livestreaming the event. Bought Chkalov's swimsuit and enjoying every curve on her body, got like 4 Northhampton II and 4 Hammann II until getting Yorktown II. I was getting Kronshtadt vibes from last year where I had to pity. But at least I'm at 277 cubes and going to restock back to 600 and more
Got Yorktown II in the very first ten pull, Hammann II and Northampton II came somewhere in the middle, and got Hornet II on my 200th cube pull. Essex also came home twice to celebrate the joy of more sisters coming home. That 0.5% rate-up never ever fails me. Proceeded to grab Plymouth and Chkalov's swimsuits alongside Harbin's, and got Hornet II's from the goodie bag. All such great views that were definitely worth the spend for the holidays.
Yeah, early in the builds I got two of the 'wrong' Yorktowns, though I could never badmouth such an elegant lady. Build #9 was Hamman, so we both got her first. Northampton II was #14, so we both got her 2nd. Hornet didn't show up till build #41... and Yorktown II decided to gracefully appear as build #25. Banner cleared by Sunday morning. One day, I'll finish a banner on day 1 - Not this time. Now for all those exceptional swimsuit skins! :D Langley.... from loli-looking sensei to simply petite, sexy hot teacher. What a character morphing there! Happy event grind to you, and a good New Year, as well.
Congrats on the sweep! To be honest, if I didn't make videos, I wouldn't even bother with Day 1 sweeps, and I'd probably have like 3000 cubes by now. The swimsuit skins are really fantastic! Happy grinding and happy new year!

Picked up the Yorktown II, Hornet II, Plymouth and Brest skins from the Gems i got with the lucky bags first event where i could get more cubes then i spend at the end^^ sad you hit the pity, but at least you have the cubes to spent^^ thanks as always for the nice skin reviews. it's so nice to listen to them and cant wait for hearing it again with the next event =)
but i would like to know why we didn't get a Prinz Rupprecht swimsuit skin as the only pr5 ship without a skin. She has one in one of the loading screens.

Oh boy, this event! I got extremely lucky this time around and pulled Yorktown II AND Hammann II in the first 10 pull! Northampton II came along not long after, which THANK GOODNESS. I was extremely worried that I would have to hit pity again after hitting pity in Vanguard's, Shinano's rerun, and Musashi's events... I am grateful that it wasn't the case. Overall it took me only 43 pulls for the rate-up ships, which beats my record of 50 pulls (from New Jersey's event). I am super grateful for the game placing mercy on me, my cubes and my coins in that regard. 🙏 I also decided to buy both swimsuit lucky bags, and I lucked out in both of those as well, getting Brest's skin and Noshiro's skin, and believe me that I was super excited about getting 2 of the L2Ds from the bags. I also decided to buy seven other skins, being the rest of the PR5 skins, Prinz Heinrich, Bolzano, Yorktown II and Northampton II. My poor wallet is crying but it's Christmas time, so why not treat yourself anyway? :P In any case, this has been an amazing event and I'm ready to spend all my oil to get everything! 👏
I got Yorktown in exactly 70 pulls so I take that. Thankfully no UR's that took as long as Shimakaze (117 builds) since her. I'll definitely get Heinrich's and Chkalov's skins but idk about the others.
It took me 115 pulls to get all rate ups. 3 Yorktowns IIs (a Hawk2zer0 moment?), 3-4 tsuncat IIs. About 9+ non rate up golds, a few Witchitas, and finally Northampton II. What is a rate up indeed. I am hoping this allows Hornet to gain popularity. I feel I used up my bad luck in this and FGO.
Congrats on the sweep! Your Yorktown situation was like my Musashi, where I was overflowing with her even before halfway to pity. I think this will go a long way in helping Hornet expand her fanbase. New unit and new motion skin can really help.

A little late I got everyone in around 150 cubes so I’m at 400+ cubes now. I bought the lucky bag and got Bolzano’s skin one of my favorite non live2D skins. I ended up grabbing Yorktown II and Heinrich’s skins too. I’d love to pick up some more but I don’t have the money.
thanks for the great coverage E. this event surely got the whole package, we got significant lore expansion, beatiful new ships and the much awaited bikini skins, they also were more daring with the loading screens this time around. then there is also new consequential gear. we also got a surprisingly large amount of mini games and miscelaneous mini events, I never get too excited about these since I plain have more fun playign the game proper and rather spend my time playing that, but I always apreciate the effort. for me the prize for most beutiful art goes to Harbin's skin, the texture of the lighting in her skin makes her figure look so attractive. on another note, I hope the initiative to make skins slightly animated when not L2D becomes the norm. the landscape has changed for mobile games since 2017, anime games has been being released for a while with all character having some degreaa of dynamic animation for their default art, leave alone skins, such as nikke and artery gear to give a couple examples. the biggest challenge I guess is that some players would complain for the even bigger game size. I was wainting for years for them to let us apply skins on the muse Ships, it should always have been that way. as for my pulls, I went through 50 pulls without getting a single event ship, but then got Yorktown, hanman and Northampton in the next 20 pulls. Hornet will come thtrough the Grind sooner or later
Thank you for the supportive comment! I did notice these loading screens are top notch. They often are, honestly, but the skins are similarly racy this time around. Harbin's skin is really something else. Yeah, I'm sure there are size considerations with the new motion type skins, but many games have solutions to increase or reduce quality or download limited assets. We'll have to see, but the overall size of the game has been a matter of concern. The skin swapping is a really cool idea. Also gives some of these skins a little more value, and gives them some future proofing against future Type-IIs or variants like Muses. Congrats on the banner-only sweep!

Also simultaneously hoping and not hoping they make figures for many of these skins, because, oh my I need that Plymouth, Hornet II, and a number of the other characters on the AL shelf. Got everyone at 70 pulls, including Hornet. Only Musashi so far who forced me to get pity pull, but I get 2 more after I get the pity pull. I think I will try to get all the 1 piece skins because well, that's my thing. Definitely getting Noshiro, Langley, and Kazagumo ones.
I swept the banner in 32 pulls. I got Yorktown II on my first build, and in my first ten pull I got two Yorktown II. The tenth pull was Northampton II and the 32nd pull was Hammann II.
Rough that you had to pity, but at least she came, and with a couple Hornets joining in along the way. Took me 240 cubes to clear, including Hornet, so I'd say about mid luck on my part. I LOVE that Noshiro skin. Glad my #2 girl got such a good one. I'm planning on picking up around a dozen of the skins this time around. I guess you were about as lucky as me with the ship drops. Yorktown never showed up for me either (I'm 180/200 now), and it took me 120 pulls before I got my first Northampton. But I got eight million Hammans and Hornet was in my first ten-pull. So ???. Gacha gonna gacha. And unlike Musashi (I never managed to get her), I at least have enough cubes to reach the pity before the end of the event now. As for the skins, my, they are delicious. The animated ones where the characters move that are like an inbetween for statics and LD2's skins is quite a nice idea too. Yorktown's skin is as enticing as ever (still gotta pull her though), but Kazagumo is very cute as well. Her little story was adorable too - I hope they do those short character stories with other skins in the future. And thanks for all the content this year! Happy holidays!

Love the inclusion on new Dynamic skins, and bringing back the swimsuits is such a big morale boost for the community, I think. I also love the little skin stories they do. I have been very lucky with UR events, getting the main UR on the 1st or 2nd 10 pull. This event was no different but it took another 300+ cubes to finally get Northampton II. Got everyone but Langley II so just grinding the event levels and trying to buy out the event store. :)
I had to get build 198 times on the last 10 pull before the pity before Yorktown decided to grace me with her spot filling up a dock space. Then Hornet 2 on pull 200. 396 cubes, then 400 cubes. Ouch... that wasn't counting the skins either.😖
Finally I'm in late game after six months playing Azur Lane and I was extra prepared for this event with gold and cubes. I love Yorktown so much and I was going to get her at all costs and... I got her with 40 cubes hahahaha!. Well, that made happy and I bought her skin :) I got Hammann as well and I hope to get Northamptom with my dailies :D EDIT: I got Norththampton with my dailies today! Winter is the best season to get that bronze XD! Even being a pity,gratz at getting everyone. I performed 50 pullings at the first day and got a Submarine fest and Northamptom II,yesterday's dailies nothing and still didn't performed today's. You got pretty lucky with Harbin's skin at that pack,but funnily enough,both skins where for PRY ships hehe! And merry xmas for you and everyone,it'll make three years i'm a commander tomorrow =w=

Here's hoping that Yostar will update prinz heinrich's skin, really wish for it to have an interactive function. Noshiro's one is definitely top tier tho. These are the only 2 skins I bought from this batch. Saving for a rerun of shimakaze's skin "Alice in wonderland" or smt like that
This time I was really lucky, in 30 pulls I got 2* YorktownII 2* NorthhamptonII and 1* HammanII. Hornet II get from the store, so I am pretty happy. I mean, I needed 170 pulls to get Musashi, so it balances all out I guess.
Got Northampton's skin from the bag and bought Harbin's suit Christmas eve. Northampton's chibi animation is cute and I just noticed that you can pull her suits zipper down.
Was able to get everyone but Hornet II in 11 pulls. Yorktown II fought hard on me but it was Hammann II that kept challenging me.... Now to get Langely II and Hornet II
Love the review. Very detailed and elaborative. Please do show the updated interactive motions for Brest and Heinrich if they add in future updates. I sometimes miss them and then regret it later for not finding it sooner.
I managed to pull everyone aside from Hornet 2 within 50 pulls, just gonna grind for Hornet from the map/shop. And I got Heinrichs swimsuit skin and Princetons Christmas skin, think those will be the skins I get for now but all the skins look amazing.
Poor Guardian. My experience was the exact opposite. By 130 pulls, I had JUST got my first copy of Northampton, but along the way I picked up MLB Hammann II and 3 Yorktown II. He did get TWO Hornet IIs though....so thats where the luck went.
Don't worry GuardianE I've experienced the Ultra Rare Pity with Shinano, but congrats on sweeping the banner. I wasn't so Lucky I did 30 summons got nothing and I decided to stop, I'll just do the daily summon instead and get the free ships. I was 180 gems short, so I bought a 5 dollar pack and bought the Swimsuit Shimakaze, she looks beautiful, and now I hope to see a Suruga swimsuit in the future

Had some luck left at the end of the year: only 50 pulls to sweep the banner. And of course, the first event ship was hornet 2. The joke with the missing 2 behind the ships name was everywhere xD. Gratz for your sweep. I really love the new sr/ur. The designe reworks are gorgeous. Same with the skins: the quality, the new motion skins... I hope they keep that as the standard. The Prinz Heinrich skin is the cutest thing ever in the game. She is so adorable and finally has a l2d. Headpats and cuddles to her. Sadly, Prinz Rupprecht only got a skin in the loading screens... together with a bust upgrade... Now, all that's left is to play the story. Wish you happy holidays and a merry christmas.

No commons isn't that rare, unless its the light pool (which has higher common odds than heavy and special). Also the URs 1.2% is taken out of the common chance, making it ever so slightly less.
200 PULLS. 5 yorktown baits. 3 of them were hornet 2. 9 northampton. 7 hammans...shangri la...I am glad to see at least i wasn't the only one who this event trolled to high hell. Looked ridiculous

It seems like all the bad rng I had during the Ryza Collab ahem(the elusive elite Lila) was preparing me for good rng during this event haha I was able to get all the banner only ships in 50 pulls phew 😅 And good lord the skins in this batch were amazing definitely a great way to end the year! Of course since this is an amazing event for the end of the year I splurged all the way haha... we have similar taste as i also bought every single skin you did haha these skins are just so damn good! Even though I loved all the variety of themes of skins they did this year, swimsuits were definitely missed and they finally delivered! I can't think of a better way to end the year than with an amazing event, skins, and watching your videos haha! I hope your holidays are going well and continue to go well! MY WALLET!!!!!! I have 6 or 7 skins that I absolutely want to get, I have no idea witch one to go for, great event, love the idea of the rebuild ships, only issue is the naming convention, vengeance or revenge as they are known would have sound more badass, but great idea non the less, and so happy that I clear the banner in 50 pulls, my best luck on an event so far!!!!! Aww you missed the Ulrich plushie cameo in the Plymouth skin. But that Yorktown skin tho. It's like AL saw what Destiny Child was getting away with and decided to clap back. You sold me on the Noshiro skin. Lots of neat details to make it fun.
The plushie is definitely cute! Also shows up in the chibi animations. It's liberating to see Azur Lane return to its glory in a lot of ways with this skin batch!
my lucks been trash the last 3 events. I expect to get to 190 by my math and if need be will spend cubes over ring for Yorktown but hoping not needed. Ryza and Janis hurt to get though.
Average rate to sweep this banner is around 90 pulls or 180 cubes, so roughly 50% of folks are going to do worse and 50% are going to do better. Hopefully luck comes your way and you get your Yorktown soon!
Had to go 148pulls before she shows up. Was rough! At this point l donno if l should go further for a pity second copy since l have no UR bulling for last limit break
At least you got her! Congrats! If you have a healthy cube supply (500+), then I'd say sure. You can do 3 per day and also ease the grind burden. We do get a lot of UR bulins over time, though, so there's no rush if you don't have a lot of cubes.
Im struggle to get another copy of Yorktown II for fun. Was expecting to get Hornet II along the way but nah you had to farm her at D3 just like ol days... ffffuuuu
In time I will get all the new skins as well as picking up some rerun skins of the maid series from last year. I feel your pain GuradianE I only pull the UR until my 194th pull. Basically I was right at the pity. I managed to get everyone from the banner except Hornet II.
Took 50 pulls. Now to decide if going 3 on light hoping for elites, or event pull hoping for Akagi-chan (and dupes) so I can put both light in a wishing well, hmmm... Seeing you just casually pull three: *Visible pain* Going to wait for xmas present (google play giftcards?) but YorkII and Shimakaze seem definite pickups. There's a loading screen with Rupprecht in a swimsuit *grumbles* I saw that topup there. When 6000 gems aint enough, even with starting out with 2 of the skins already 😱 No special touch on Brest? Even if locked archive, nothing prevents one from doing it "manually".
Congratulations on the sweep! It's a tough choice, but if you have a healthy cube supply, I think it's worth going in on the event banner still for dailies, just to ease the grind a bit. And the possibility of getting missing Elites is a nice bonus. Nothing like a little holiday treat. Really glad they opted to add Dynamic mode to Yorktown II's. Lots of really saucy loading screens dropped with this batch. Real eyecandy abound. I definitely have no qualms about supporting the devs when they finally deliver on what I've been requesting for so long. We went hard with the gems. I probably should have showcased more of her animations in the secretary screen in general, including that tasty special touch.

Don't think you could get more lucky then what I got. Swept the rate ups in the first 10x build. So its just the Hornet grind left for me while i cry for my wallet with all these delicious skins.

but i would like to know why we didn't get a Prinz Rupprecht swimsuit skin as the only pr5 ship without a skin. She has one in one of the loading screens.

Oh boy, this event!
I got extremely lucky this time around and pulled Yorktown II AND Hammann II in the first 10 pull! Northampton II came along not long after, which THANK GOODNESS. I was extremely worried that I would have to hit pity again after hitting pity in Vanguard's, Shinano's rerun, and Musashi's events... I am grateful that it wasn't the case. Overall it took me only 43 pulls for the rate-up ships, which beats my record of 50 pulls (from New Jersey's event). I am super grateful for the game placing mercy on me, my cubes and my coins in that regard. 🙏
I also decided to buy both swimsuit lucky bags, and I lucked out in both of those as well, getting Brest's skin and Noshiro's skin, and believe me that I was super excited about getting 2 of the L2Ds from the bags. I also decided to buy seven other skins, being the rest of the PR5 skins, Prinz Heinrich, Bolzano, Yorktown II and Northampton II. My poor wallet is crying but it's Christmas time, so why not treat yourself anyway? :P
In any case, this has been an amazing event and I'm ready to spend all my oil to get everything! 👏

I got Yorktown in exactly 70 pulls so I take that. Thankfully no UR's that took as long as Shimakaze (117 builds) since her.
I'll definitely get Heinrich's and Chkalov's skins but idk about the others.

It took me 115 pulls to get all rate ups. 3 Yorktowns IIs (a Hawk2zer0 moment?), 3-4 tsuncat IIs. About 9+ non rate up golds, a few Witchitas, and finally Northampton II.
What is a rate up indeed. I am hoping this allows Hornet to gain popularity.
I feel I used up my bad luck in this and FGO.

I think this will go a long way in helping Hornet expand her fanbase. New unit and new motion skin can really help.

Ironically this was the first UR event where I had enough cubes to get to the pity system if I needed to, but then I got all 4 ships in 30 pulls.
It always pays to be prepared, even when luck swings in your favor!

thanks for the great coverage E. this event surely got the whole package, we got significant lore expansion, beatiful new ships and the much awaited bikini skins, they also were more daring with the loading screens this time around. then there is also new consequential gear. we also got a surprisingly large amount of mini games and miscelaneous mini events, I never get too excited about these since I plain have more fun playign the game proper and rather spend my time playing that, but I always apreciate the effort.
for me the prize for most beutiful art goes to Harbin's skin, the texture of the lighting in her skin makes her figure look so attractive. on another note, I hope the initiative to make skins slightly animated when not L2D becomes the norm. the landscape has changed for mobile games since 2017, anime games has been being released for a while with all character having some degreaa of dynamic animation for their default art, leave alone skins, such as nikke and artery gear to give a couple examples. the biggest challenge I guess is that some players would complain for the even bigger game size.
I was wainting for years for them to let us apply skins on the muse Ships, it should always have been that way. as for my pulls, I went through 50 pulls without getting a single event ship, but then got Yorktown, hanman and Northampton in the next 20 pulls. Hornet will come thtrough the Grind sooner or later
Thank you for the supportive comment! I did notice these loading screens are top notch. They often are, honestly, but the skins are similarly racy this time around.
Harbin's skin is really something else. Yeah, I'm sure there are size considerations with the new motion type skins, but many games have solutions to increase or reduce quality or download limited assets. We'll have to see, but the overall size of the game has been a matter of concern.
The skin swapping is a really cool idea. Also gives some of these skins a little more value, and gives them some future proofing against future Type-IIs or variants like Muses. Congrats on the banner-only sweep!
Always love your descriptions of the skins. Absolute class. 😎I managed to get all the new ships (except Hornet II) in 170 cubes. Even managed to pick up I-19, who I (somehow) didn't have. Also simultaneously hoping and not hoping they make figures for many of these skins, because, oh my I need that Plymouth, Hornet II, and a number of the other characters on the AL shelf.

I've had some crazy luck this event. In 40 pulls, i have gotten 2 Yorktown, 4 Northhampton, 1 Hornet and just need Hamamm.

Got everyone at 70 pulls, including Hornet. Only Musashi so far who forced me to get pity pull, but I get 2 more after I get the pity pull. I think I will try to get all the 1 piece skins because well, that's my thing. Definitely getting Noshiro, Langley, and Kazagumo ones.

I swept the banner in 32 pulls. I got Yorktown II on my first build, and in my first ten pull I got two Yorktown II. The tenth pull was Northampton II and the 32nd pull was Hammann II.

I guess you were about as lucky as me with the ship drops. Yorktown never showed up for me either (I'm 180/200 now), and it took me 120 pulls before I got my first Northampton. But I got eight million Hammans and Hornet was in my first ten-pull. So ???. Gacha gonna gacha. And unlike Musashi (I never managed to get her), I at least have enough cubes to reach the pity before the end of the event now.
As for the skins, my, they are delicious. The animated ones where the characters move that are like an inbetween for statics and LD2's skins is quite a nice idea too. Yorktown's skin is as enticing as ever (still gotta pull her though), but Kazagumo is very cute as well. Her little story was adorable too - I hope they do those short character stories with other skins in the future.

The skins are out of this world. Love the inclusion on new Dynamic skins, and bringing back the swimsuits is such a big morale boost for the community, I think. I also love the little skin stories they do. I think they ought to do them more often. I'm sure it'd help sell skins.

I have been very lucky with UR events, getting the main UR on the 1st or 2nd 10 pull. This event was no different but it took another 300+ cubes to finally get Northampton II. Got everyone but Langley II so just grinding the event levels and trying to buy out the event store. :)

I had to get build 198 times on the last 10 pull before the pity before Yorktown decided to grace me with her spot filling up a dock space. Then Hornet 2 on pull 200. 396 cubes, then 400 cubes. Ouch... that wasn't counting the skins either.😖
Nice to get a little extra copy from the pity, at least! And the Hornet 2 will help ease the grind.

I performed 50 pullings at the first day and got a Submarine fest and Northamptom II,yesterday's dailies nothing and still didn't performed today's. This time I was really lucky, in 30 pulls I got 2* YorktownII 2* NorthhamptonII and 1* HammanII. Hornet II get from the store, so I am pretty happy. I mean, I needed 170 pulls to get Musashi, so it balances all out I guess.

Love the review. Very detailed and elaborative. Please do show the updated interactive motions for Brest and Heinrich if they add in future updates. I sometimes miss them and then regret it later for not finding it sooner.

I managed to pull everyone aside from Hornet 2 within 50 pulls, just gonna grind for Hornet from the map/shop. And I got Heinrichs swimsuit skin and Princetons Christmas skin, think those will be the skins I get for now but all the skins look amazing.

Poor Guardian. My experience was the exact opposite. By 130 pulls, I had JUST got my first copy of Northampton, but along the way I picked up MLB Hammann II and 3 Yorktown II. He did get TWO Hornet IIs though....so thats where the luck went.

No commons isn't that rare, unless its the light pool (which has higher common odds than heavy and special). Also the URs 1.2% is taken out of the common chance, making it ever so slightly less.

It seems like all the bad rng I had during the Ryza Collab ahem(the elusive elite Lila) was preparing me for good rng during this event haha I was able to get all the banner only ships in 50 pulls phew 😅 And good lord the skins in this batch were amazing definitely a great way to end the year! Of course since this is an amazing event for the end of the year I splurged all the way haha... we have similar taste as i also bought every single skin you did haha these skins are just so damn good! Even though I loved all the variety of themes of skins they did this year, swimsuits were definitely missed and they finally delivered! my lucks been trash the last 3 events. I expect to get to 190 by my math and if need be will spend cubes over ring for Yorktown but hoping not needed. Ryza and Janis hurt to get though.
Average rate to sweep this banner is around 90 pulls or 180 cubes, so roughly 50% of folks are going to do worse and 50% are going to do better. Hopefully luck comes your way and you get your Yorktown soon!

At least you got her! Congrats! If you have a healthy cube supply (500+), then I'd say sure. You can do 3 per day and also ease the grind burden. We do get a lot of UR bulins over time, though, so there's no rush if you don't have a lot of cubes.

In time I will get all the new skins as well as picking up some rerun skins of the maid series from last year. I feel your pain GuradianE I only pull the UR until my 194th pull. Basically I was right at the pity. I managed to get everyone from the banner except Hornet II.

Congratulations on the sweep! It's a tough choice, but if you have a healthy cube supply, I think it's worth going in on the event banner still for dailies, just to ease the grind a bit. And the possibility of getting missing Elites is a nice bonus.
Nothing like a little holiday treat. Really glad they opted to add Dynamic mode to Yorktown II's.
Lots of really saucy loading screens dropped with this batch. Real eyecandy abound.
I definitely have no qualms about supporting the devs when they finally deliver on what I've been requesting for so long. We went hard with the gems.
I probably should have showcased more of her animations in the secretary screen in general, including that tasty special touch.

I don't believe i have ever seen so many fantastic skins in an event before. Beyond brilliant. Thank you very much for the event skin review. 👏 Ps I had to go to the 200 pity break as well for Yorktown 2 as well. First time I've ever had to do that fortunately 😅.

I'm really sorry you had to hit the pity as well. But on the positive side, without the pity it could have been a lot worse. I've seen a lot worse first hand. It happens, but it all balances out and bounces back. Hopefully next event goes better for us both!
