Man if that old iron could talk! To think that all these cars and trucks were once shiny new toys and tools on a showroom floor. Kinda funny that back in the day many of these were top of the line in luxury or power and now they're seen as antiquated junk. It hurts to see so much history rotting away but it also feels good to know that guys such as yourself rescue little slivers of it now and again. If I didn't already have plans to get a couple of 2 tons fixed up and modified, I'd go after that big blue F6 or IH 1000. Speaking of which, I may be headed in your general direction from SWMO soon to check out a 70s F600 for sale. Great vidya and hats off to Schwartz for letting you mosey around their yard to give us a tour! Much respect for what you do Zane.

Thanks Zane and Mathew for letting us take a look through your salvage yard before father time takes it all away. Several vehicles sparked my interest but when you showed the mid sixties Chevy wagon just sitting in the field, it brought me back. My dad bought a used 66 Chevy Belaire Station wagon way back when we all were kids. All 8 of us fit in there just fine. We'd go to the drive-in and watch a family movie in out pajama's. (the kids). Take a ride to the White Mountains or to a local swimming hole. Have a weenie roast as Dad called "cooking hot dogs on a grille". Brought back some good family memories. I do wonder if that is a complete Wagon and if it is for sale. I'd love to resurrect that one and pick up my remaining brother and sisters for a ride to "Forest Lake" just one more time. lol..Thanks, for the memories. N.Mathew Carter

I used to have a '74 Ford Ranchero, they are cars but back then cars and trucks would share a lot of drivetrain components. Mine had a 400m V8, a C6 automatic, and 3.50:1 rear gear in the 9-inch axle. But it had the suspension of a car so it didn't have much for a payload. They were really meant to have the comfort of a car with only a bit of cargo capability. Very much in the same vein as a Honda Ridgeline or the new Ford Maverick today, but way cooler.

I have been looking for over 2 years for trim for my 1953 plymouth and it is sitting up on the top row of cars about just above the 1957 Ford Fairlane 4 door . Cool video! The small red car at 14:45 and 18:00 is a German car called a Lloyd. These were built from around 1952 through 1961-62. They had 2 cylinder air cooled engines and 4 on the tree manual transmissions. They were also front wheel drive and had suicide doors. They are great little cars. This one is about a 57 or 58 at the latest. It's also the basic 19hp motor vs the 25hp fancier TS model. If I were closer I'd save it for my fleet, then I'd be up to 6!

"Cool look at the little Morris!" 5 seconds later "3 window... *pained whimper" Technically that's not a crane it's a winch arm, crane arms are pneumatically or hydraulically lifted/lowered and traversed, that's just a mechanical arm that gets the winch line up higher and off to the side.. from what I can tell. Both those F6's should have the flathead V8 under the hood.. I believe the 21 stud at that point. BTW when you do videos like this, look under the hood and see what engine they have/if they still have one.
I have a thing for Corvairs.. I have NO CLUE why.. I prefer the later 65+ ones though. That plane looks like your typical Cesna. El Camino was never a truck, they were built on car platforms from day one and Chevrolet called them a Utility Car. Ford on the other hand designated the Ranchero as a 1/4 ton Truck and they got upgraded brakes and suspension components compared to the car versions.. Can you tell my first car was a 1969 Ranchero? :P That thing had MASSIVE drum brakes on it that were an easy/cheap upgrade for a Mustang.. they were 4 1/2 inches wide. That Royal would've had a Gen 1 354/392 Hemi. I found out that some of those old Kenworths had Detroit Diesels in them, all the way from a 8V71 up to a 20V71 and a 12V92T.. it'd be interesting to see what's under the hood.... probably just a Cat or Cummins. I kind of want to find an old bus with a 6-71 in it.. it'd get better mileage than our truck and at least I'd have somewhere to live if shit goes sideways.
"....A Rambler Wagon... that's a rare car... You know people would remember seeing such a rare car..."
I wish I could afford to do what I want to.. Kind of want to start a channel called Rustorations where I take cars that are too rusty for most people to consider spending the time to fix them, and fix them. Make any panels that need made and bring them back, even if only up to primer and sell them from there, just to save these old cars from rotting away.. Unfortunately I don't have anywhere near the funds, tools or acreage to do so.
Hey if you want that power wagon, all you need is the cab and vin plate.. you can build everything else from there and piece it together like your Internationals.. Give it a pair of Dana 80's and it'll be far better than they ever were, there's your perfect home for that 12V Cummins you have, put an Allison or a NV5500 behind it and a good transfer case and you'll be set. *pained whimper #2 442!! OMFG I've wanted one of those since I first got a model of one when I was 13!... Though honestly I want a W30... 455 Tri Power, but with gas hovering around $6/gal for regular, the 350 is a better idea.. plus it's basically a Cleveland. (Rocket 350 and 351C were designed by the same guy and share a lot of features like deep skirting, recessed timing set, poly angle valves/canted valves, poor oiling system etc) That one looks like a 68/9 by the grille. This shows you how bad gas has gotten around here, I've even been looking at buying a little Japanese car like and old Datsun 510.. I even had the bright idea of buying a Volvo 544 and instead of swapping in a 289/302 (which would be seriously fun) I was thinking you could swap in a Mini S 1.6L and have almost the same amount of power and twice as good mileage, especially with all the smog stuff deleted. Converting an engine never offered as a RWD isn't the easiest thing to do though. 35:25.... "nope don't know what it is.." Kharman Ghia followed by Willys Overland. 38:30 looks like a 1939/40 Ford/Willys. The Mustang after that is a 67/8 you can tell by the fake vents in front of the rear tires. That 4 cyl plus that banjo rearend and those super square doors were from Model T's.. the Model A's have much more rounded doors and a bigger "normal" rearend. That's what those twisted up bodies are. I'd love to have a Model T to fix up and hot rod.. I mean hell (I think I told you) I've got my great grandpa's transmission adjuster wrench/ratchet from his old Model T hanging up on the wall in my room.

Yeah, I wish there would have been more time for me to look. My camera was overheating as well. I need to build a shield for it. I had no idea the Ranchero was listed as a 1/4 ton. I just ran across your video . I am very interested in a pair of wheels or rims at 23 min 18 sec on an old maybe late 1940's MACK Truck on the front axle . They have 6 lugs or are 6 bolt rims and look like 20" rims . I'm looking for 20" bud style 6 bolt rims for my 1952 International Truck with a specific bolt pattern as the rear axle are dually wheels and the same rims are on the front axle also . It was 5 months ago in Salem Missouri at Schwartz Auto Salvage . If you can get back to me and let me know . I'll give you the exact measurements of the bolt pattern and wheels . They run 8.25 x 20" tires so the rims need to be 8" wide for that size of tires . Thank You , ZAK !!! Do a response to this comment on this video so we can exchange contact info PLEASE !!!!!!
