No, you heard him right. No hidden meanings, no apologies. This is your grandma's music, straight up!
grandma was a freak!
@@El-ingobernable When it was the depression, your life was shit, you gotta get your kicks somewhere...everyone's grandma, keep that image in your head...lol...
@@42Mrgreenman yes thats what i was saying. grannies were freaks.
@@42Mrgreenman the depression wasn't in the 60's & 70's. That was the days of civil rights fights, Vietnam protests & free love... and drugs!
@@cathybrookeburt2616 True, before you responded I had the thought that I worded it poorly, my point is that as Gen-Z looks back on the 60's and 70's, I as a Millennial, look back to my grandparents of the depression...people have been freaky in every age...but thanks for the response!...my parents were and are total hippies (and my grandma is still alive at 101), so I totally dig the vibe...I'll pour one out, smoke one up, and lick one square for ya!
Back door man is an old delta blues term. Husband coming in the front door, boyfriend going out the back door.
Yep, back door has a different meaning today.
@@rhondacrosswhite8048i like going through the back door 😂
it means cock up the arse!!!
You are right about that BUT! The first impression is right. Proof has it with the title of another Zep Album "In Through The Out Door"
... first it's husband out, boyfriend in... 🙄
Robert Plant was responsible for more knickers on the floor than almost any man alive. This is the music of my younger days. Damn, I just became a great grandmother the other day..
Congrats on being GG! If you watch young women reactors today, they all fall in love with Robert Plant. He exudes sensuality. I was about 12 when this came out and very sheltered and naive but even I knew this song was a bit naughty.
And yet Jimmy was the sexual freak 😉
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Led Zeppelin in the undisputed championship greatest rock band ever !!! Hands down !
To you.
deep purple better
Even if they did "borrow" a lot of their music from other artists.
@@allengator1914 like who ?
@nim4464 not even close Led Zeppelin miles ahead
Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd can NEVER be confused as being the same. They're both amazing bands, but for different reasons
Long haired skinny white guys all look alike 😊🎉❤
@@docnflossie7351 To us men yes but to women I don't think so
@@robertrosello1964You got that right. I grew up in this era-I remember the average build of guys being somehow different then-not just skinny but lanky and lean. Can’t really explain what I mean, just a different build altogether. Not “built” like now. Yes we girls loved those lanky long-haired guys.
Yes, but they charged different amounts when I saw them at World Class Venues: Pink Floyd with 18,000 others at Earls Court in 1973 and Led Zepplin at @Empire Pool, Wembley in 1975.. Led Zep was 75 ..PENCE or $1 and Pink Floyd was £1 or $1.34.. I did beat that by,in successive weeks around 1973 seeing Deep Purple and Creedence Clearwater Revival both for 25 PENCE.."Up In The Gods" at The Royal Albert Hall. All London venues:)
Robert Plant was sexy
Bonham on drums is everything about this track. Absolute legend.
Bonham's drum solo in 'Moby Dick', is incredible, what a drummer he was.
They're ALL legends !
React to Kashmir ( in my opinion their best song ever) ,and try a listen to "RAMBLE On" and "When The Levee Breaks"....
When my Mom got sick of hearing my ROCK albums she'd storm over and fling the stereo needle across the album scratching it. She only did it twice that I remember but a Zep album was one of them! Probably during one of their long freak out solos which you couldn't only appreciate at a more mellow state, lol. She did like Jim Morrisons voice ,though ...always commented on him, never scratched any doors albums .lol
@mariajobson739 I have all the albums and a variety of gig tees my dad gave me, in the UK most of us are brought up on Zeppelin, Stones, The Who or Black Sabbath or all if we're lucky.
You just found the biggest rabbit hole in music. Come on in, it's awesome.
not a rabbit hole...LZ is an open pit diamond mine...reach in at random and bring out a gem
One of the best riffs ever, in my opinion! This song is epic, from 1969, incredible it's 55 years old, timeless, again in my opinion! I love this video, seen it so many times, Led Zeppelin, one of the most iconic rock bands.
Lord Jimmy 🤘🏻
“Back door man” doesn’t mean quite what you think. In the historical African American delta culture, a back door man is the guy slamming the back door shut on his way out when the man of the house is coming in the front door to surprise his woman.
Complex, beautiful and seductive. This is Led Zeppelin. My personal, without hesitation, favorite band.
Lol you made me laugh so much. Man Robert Plant was nothing but climax 24/7 naturally.
ROCK GOD
Yeah, I’m jealous, I could never pull it off 😂
This is a great song to listen to with headphones. They were really into creating immersive audioscapes by panning the sound from one side to the other. Something that is kind of missed without headphones. Smoke a couple of bowls, Throw your headphones on, and crank that shit. It’s an experience.
I'm already there! 😏💜💜💜
Too much attention to the lyrics kills the vibe. When we listened to it on the radio, we weren't watching them or worried about what exactly was said. We felt it...the vibe. Just my opinion. 😊💜💜💜
I had a Quadrophonic Stereo & big headphones.
I got it.
@@as7326so true.
He is sitting between two huge and top quality speakers, so he gets the effects.
Glad you are listening to the greatest bands of the 70’s
Correction...of all time
@jamesw5353 - Was about to make the same correction. :)
I'm 72 yrs old. I saw Zep live in Houston 8 times. I feel sorry for you youngsters.
I don't think boomers criticized rap for being sexual in nature, but for being vulgar about their sexual nature. This song is pretty direct about it, but it's still innuendo and it's clothed in some of the best musicianship in history.
i agree and i'm not even a boomer.
Well said!💯💯💯
So true
-Heartbreaker
-The Lemon Song
-When the Levey Breaks
-Traveling Riverside Blues 👍
The immigrant song, stairway to heaven....
Dazed and Confused
The Lemon Song...quote "Squeeze My Lemon Til The Juice Runs Down My Leg " !!!!!!
Tangerine 🍊
When The Levee Breaks 😎
Can't wait for him to hear "The Lemon Song".
That was my first thought.
😂My thoughts exactly!!😜🤣
Ha ha ha, I just commented that 🤣
Definitely😋🥂
😂😂😂😂😂
In classic blues--which heavily influenced Led Zeppelin--a "back door man" was the playa who showed up at the wife's back door after the husband went to work from the front door.
If you didn't say it, I was going to! Thanks!
This may be true, but knocking at your back door by Deep Purple means exactly what you think it means 😂
I'm 71 and got to see them live back then in Mobile AL! 3 hrs of pure amazement
One of my favorites by Led Zepplin !
This song came out on the radio, and it blew me away. Went out and bought the album, and every song on the album was great(which doesn't happen much). I soon found out my album was their 2nd album so I got their first, same thing, no bad songs, yaaay Led Zeppelin
One of a few greatest bands. Kashmir is my favorite song of all time.
Love Kashmir!
Yes, Kashmir is my favourite LZ song, I love the version from Celebration Day with Jason Bonham on drums - he did a very good job!
Robert Plant said in an interview it was his favorite as well. Mine too ;)
No no, THE GREATEST band of all time!!! And then there's the rest.
Headphones are so necessary when listening to Zeppelin. You can hear every instrument individually. They do a lot of panning, and individual sounds left or right.
Back when stereo was new and cool 😂
Decent speakers, properly amplified, are even better. For most people though, headphones are the most practical option, it's true. Just as long as they're half-decent, over-ear headphones and not ear-buds. :) Basically, as the OP said, you need a setup that's going to give you good stereo sound! This is true for most classic rock but is especially true for bands like Zeppelin and Floyd!
That is BLUES rock son. In fact, that is BLUES rock perfection. And yes, it's pure sex. This is the perfect place to start with Zeppelin ... it kind of immediately cements their greatness with the listener, then you go on from there. You really need to listen to this one on a serious stereo system (or at least through some good headphones. Everything hits SO HARD. And there's tons of top-level production and engineering going on (if you are into that sort of thing).
This song and album was a BIG jump ahead in terms of setting the bar for what would come next.
Won't even get into the multitude of samples used in rap songs ...
This song is actually a reworking of an early 60s blues song called "You Need Love" written by Willie Dixon and recorded by Muddy Waters.
Good try know. Thanks
Cool!
Yes this is the original studio version!!🔥🎸🐐😍Jimi page is using a bow to play his guitar!!
Edited studio version, they took out some of the weird middle part
He also used a theremin on the psychedelic interlude.
@@floridaoutdoordiscoveries8301 I did notice that later !!
Robert Plant is back on tour at the age of 75 with Allison Kraus.
Headphones are a must with Led Zepplin
In England back door man means when the Husband, boyfriend goes out the front someone else comes in the back door .you should listen to Stairway to Heaven or when the levie breaks they have many different forms of their music .
When the levee breaks is my favourite Led Zeppelin track..different feel altogether
Nothing better than a bottle of wine, candle light & Led Zeppelin. Oh to be young again.
LOL! I just got up and put on my LZ 1975 Concert t-shirt, and I see this! What a way to start my day!
This was at a time of free love. Led was used at every love making session I was in. Always going and we had to have it.
You HAVE to go down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole!!! They literally shaped the 70's. They are legendary, you don't know rock if you don't know Zeppelin.
They were very experimental for their time, and their talent is unmatched!!
The ladies in the audience throwing their underwear at Robert are now grandmas 😂
Oh you heard it right! This song was the inspiration for a an influx of newborns in the late 60's early 70's for sure!
This is why baby boomers became baby makers.
I'm pretty sure the term backdoor man refers to the man that a woman cheats with, who sneaks out the back door.
that's a fact. it's an old slang term very few people under 50 (or 60) will ever recognize. they attach a whole other meaning to it.
The look on your face during the instrumental part was priceless 😂 😂 😂 Led Zeppelin - yeah must do a deep dive into their catalogue, you must!!!
Wow. 40 something years old and first time hearing the greatest rock drummer of all-time (according to most lists) and a top 10 guitarist as well.
I am blessed to have known and play all types of music. From zep to soul!
YES YES YES! Finally hit up Zep.............best band of all time. In 2007 they reunited in London of ONE concert only............It's called Celebration Day. They are much older like 60;s-ish. Check out Kashmir from that concert-------Still kicking ass. They are responisble for more women:s wet pants than anyone!
For a different vibe of this band you should check out "When The Levee Breaks" It's an old blues song revisited
"Kashmir".... 'nuff said.
It has been said that those open shirts that Robert Plant wore in concert in the 70's were those of the young groupies that he slept with the night before the show😳
Folks forget that this was a top 5 POP hit on AM Top 40 radio. However, the single was heavily edited as to be almost unrecognizable (lol). But, the song still blew me away. In fact, I had never heard the full version until I bought the album. Boy, was I surprised!....This song was (mostly) written by iconic blues man Willie Dixon and 'adapted' by Led Zeppelin. However, Mr. Dixon was never listed as a writer ($$$) so, in 1985, he sued and won a settlement. Not sure why it took him 15 years, though.
Yes, and yes. I'm sure by this time, he knows because this is a reload, but the Willie Dixon point is key. Let's just hope BP did a little reading up on how much blues has influenced rock and everything after it.
@@tomrockwood851 I wouldn't count on that
Hands down, the most influential and 'inspired' Rock band of all time.
A testament to what innate talent, quality drugs and influences from unseen forces produces.
My thirteen month old son (he's 55 now!) would sit on the floor with his pacifier in his mouth looking at the Zeppelin album cover. And he would "sing" along with this song especially. Guy is still a Zep fan.
You’ve been introduced to one of the top 5 greatest guitarists of all time, top 3 greatest drummers and the greatest voice in rock and roll history! Zep was the real pioneers of hard rock.
This one of the best rock bands of all time. I got to see them live in LA when I was 16, they brought the house down. The old Form was full of smoke.
Robert Plant is the lead singer. He has had a very successful solo career after Zepplin called it quits when John Bonham died(the drummer). The Big Log is a great Plant song that gives you a great example of his range.
I took this album to school on Friendly Music Fridays in my Humanities class.About halfway through the song,my teacher stopped it.Handed me back my album and told me not to bring any more Zepplin to his class! That was about 1969.
Led Zeppelin. One of the deepest wormholes in the universe.
I was lucky enough to see them live four times. Absolutely best band ever, my favorite songs are ramble on, lemon song, go to California. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
I'm gonna give you every inch of my Love
Now that's poetry
We need a whole lotta love WAP mashup.
On 2nd thought, no. That would bring on the end times.
""Since I've Been Loving You" live at Madison Square Garden
Now, re-listen to this song wearing headphones. The mixing is incredible.
Straight up and in your face with no hidden meaning. like; "Shake for me girl, I wanna be your backdoor man."
Perfect in every way
This is actually based on an older Blues song. You just heard the Best, Sexiest, Amazing Rock band of all time - Led Zeppelin. Each member of the band is considered the best at their individual instruments. Led Zeppelin is sampled a lot in Rap. Thank you so much for reacting to my favorite band - Led Zeppelin. You have the most incredible journey to experience with them. Please, please do more Led Zeppelin. Led Heads are very loyal fans and huge in number.
Lol your facial expressions on this are the best. You made my day! 🤣🤣
Keeping in mind that because Led Zeppelin refused to release a second version with more "acceptable" lyrics this song was banned from AM radio. Which probably went a long way to boosting album sales for their second album.
i never understood single word he said , but he always had some mighty fine wine .
😄
Yes he did!
It's the GOATS!!! These guys played so many different genres of music, and every one of them is absolute 🔥
When the Levee Breaks - has been sampled in hip hop songs, Dazed and confused from their first album, Immigrant song from the 3rd, used as a sound track in a number of movies
Every Led song is a banger, they are the GOATS!
AND THAT WAS PLAYED ON THE RADIO IN 1969 AND I SAW THEM IN 71 IN LA!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Spot on. Millions born in the peace revolution.
You will LOVE Led Zeppelin, BP! Enjoy 👍💐
“This is kind of a banger.” 🧨🧨🤯
If this is the first time you've heard LZ you've been living under a rock.
When you start learning guitar
And you get this rift Down
It's one of the greatest feelings in the world
Lol! Loved this reaction! My dad introduced me to Led Zeppelin when I was young, we had all the vinyl, and I had almost the same reaction! I also agree, as a white girl who grew up on blues, rock, r&b and Funk, and was introduced to rap and hip hop later, there is definitely a parallel between Rock and Rap when it comes to lyrics and content! Either way it's got a sexy vibe! Keep up the awesome reactions! I love seeing this rock journey!
The really hilarious thing is a version of this song was used as theme tune for Top of the Pops, a weekly music show that was broadcast at 730pm every Thursday night on the BBC in the UK.😂
To be fair, Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd merch is often sold side-by-side. Along with KISS, AC/DC, and Rolling Stones... the 5 most T-shirted bands of all time!
Greatest rock band ever!
The Greatest......I enjoyed your reaction. This album came out when I was a senior in high school.......we're still rockin 👍
The song was witten by Willy Dixon, an OG black bluesman from the '50's. It was recorded by Muddy Waters, another black bluesman, in the early '60's. Zeppelin covered the song and didn't bother telling anyone that they didn't write it.
I always listen to this when it comes up in my feed.Never understood it when I was teenybopper!
You should definetly listen to this in headphones. It's a mind f×*k, lol. Zep, one of the best bands of all time!!
Haven't heard this song in awhile. Great years and thanks for showing this. 🎧🎤🎶🎼
Thank goodness… welcome to the largest, deepest rabbit hole in rock. Zeppelin gets better throughout the decades. I listened to Robert Plant’s solo stuff in the 80s not realizing until later he was the lead singer. We all find a path to them at some point.
Remember they had to get these songs by the censors in order to get on radio play so there was a watered down version as well for AM listening and the longer version for FM. This song at the time had the same impact on the public and Gun's and Rose's - Welcome to the Jungle did years later. It shook up the music scene.
This was actually a cover of the Small Faces "You Need Loving" which was also a cover of Muddy Waters "You Need Love"
Grace Slick said that this song was as close to a sexual experience as a recording could ever be. You definitely heard right!
Thank you- by Zeppelin
This was used as the theme tune for the intro to UK Pop show "Top of the Pops for years during the 70's and 80's so very well known over here.
As a kid watching "Creature Feature," on Saturday afternoon, I never knew that clip was from Led Zeppelin.., it just sounded perfect for the intro.
Zeppelin has been my fav band forever now lol. If I got on led I'm in a good mood lmao if u listen to heartbreaker u have to listen to living loving maid right after it they go together. Once u listen then you'll get it.
One of the first records I bought aged 11, the lemon song will blow your mind 😊
😂😂👍👏❤❤❤🔥 Led Zep is amazing.
This was the best reaction I've seen from you. Keep listening to Led Zeppelin. The Greatest band of All Time
No contest, greatest rock band of all time.
Well now you have entered one of the greatest rabbit holes ever!!! You definitely need to react to Since I’ve Been Loving You the live version!!
I’m so glad that I was a teenager in the 70’s! Best music and no cell phones to record all the stupid stuff we did! True freedom! I grew up in southern Missouri. Good ole country parties in the summer at the river, floating, camping, partying.
$2 gets you a cup for the keg
Dazed and Confused is awesome. John Bonham on drums is amazing.
Ahhh, but to hear them live... Glad you got hear this.
Yes, this is what we old people rocked out to back in the day. Hard to imagine, I suppose. You *really* need to see them perform live at the O2 arena in London in 2009(? not sure of the year) - "Kashmir" would be my pick. They were 70 years old for that concert, and they had not lost a minute of their talent over the years. Also Heart's tribute to them at the Kennedy Center Honors is a must see, if you haven't.
"Kashmir" live is a must!!!
Starway to Heaven next!! You are in for a wild ride with these rock legends!
This is my favourite band ever. I have the swan song 1975. on 7” vinyl.. my birth year. It was a tip/gift from a customer who left with a gibson guitar on his arm that I tattooed. That was a good day ☺️
Dazed and Confused should be your next Zep song.
