Wow, James deserves an Oscar for Riskiest Acting Role.
Seeing all those kids singing and dancing while under the impression that a hospital is being built for them is heartbreaking. The fact that these kind of things happen in actual reality is saddening to think about.
That broke my heart too, as they approached the island and they were all there welcoming them... :(

If its Mads Brøgger who makes the Documentary its always amazing.
Let me see if I got this right: hundreds of millions of tax-payer dollars are being used to fund "intelligence services" in "Western" countries, yet a retired chef and a former mafioso gathered way more data about North Korea than the aforementioned "services" and they did it out of... boredom?!?
Really makes you think hmm
Yeah makes you think… that Ulrich is probably actually a real government agent and Mr.James is an informant to get reduced sentence.
Tbf that retired chef is no random guy either.
It took them 10 years to be able to infiltrate
The US and the west won’t release what they know or what they have on North Korea for a reason. I mean they already knew about it wayyyy before the documentary makers knew.
I’m actually shocked all these people fell for James’s act. His fake laugh was way to over the top 😂.
Big balls though!!!!
No one is their true self. The CIA teaches there are 3 versions of self. Fake self (how you would want others at work and in society to see you).
Private self the version you want your kids and family to see you as.
Secret self the version you want no one to see.
My own opinion see says true self is equated by understanding and knowing all 3.

It blows my mind this only has 72k views, this deserves millions and it will definitely get there when the algorithm picks it up. Amazing work.
Thank you❤️
It has been seen by millions of people its just a reupload by someone who didnt make it. Search for Mads Brüggers he is the guy who made this. Fun fact about Ulrich he was invited to speak about this to FN back in 2020 when this released
This documentary has been on tv in Sweden, Denmark, Germany (maybe 4 years ago) and I think in several other countries too so altogether I think tens of millions of people have seen it. It seems like some countries have been hesitent to show it in movie-theaters/on tv though due to threats from North Korea. I have looked for it here on UA-cam several times since I saw it the first time 3-4 years ago and could only find a German (dubbed) version before.
Mr. James has such an undetectable accent. He’s perfect for the role

Wow....... totally insane what these guys risked. Only negative comment i would have is that I wish they had English subtitles for the Danish parts but this blows my mind that they were able to pull this off.
I k ow a d this gets posted and taken down alot. I saw a version where they had translation for the Danish. Like when Mads was talking g to the dudes before their North korea trip he was warning James to behave and not to ever insult the Great Leaders and stuff like that

This is amazing from start to finish. The risks taken by our undercover guys are outstanding and courageous. The mixture of things being just made up on the spot, right through to meticulously planned parts, just goes to show the sheer complexity and dedication needed to pull this off… the Mole was doing this for years, with nobody to offload to, nowhere to be entirely sure it’s safe to just talk and let the persona go for a single second. This documentary and the things that were uncovered are truly breathtaking, and hopefully start to crack the hardened exterior of “Happy and abundant North Korea”. From here on, I hope, it will only be a matter of time before the world learns of its secrets and vile acts, and then one by one the people of NK will realise even just a small segment of the real world. I hope and pray that they can somehow find a way to rise up as people United and overcome the awful awful leadership.
The world already knows everything the DPRK gov says is full of shit. Even Chinese admit to it, yet they still support them. The world knows. They just mostly don't care because they're dealing with bigger problems in their own lives than what's happening in another country they have nothing to do with.
You think the world doesn't already know?
@@kdlofty I think that much of the world knows, but that some are still clueless. Namely those who go on the meticulously prearranged tourist trips, plugging money right to the top of the government instead of the hungry, and seeing the side of NK they are supposed to see. Some, not all, but some fall for their bs. To each their own, it’s just my humbled opinion which I’m entitled to, as everyone else is entitled to theirs also. With love, light and blessings. Jojo
@@jojo1234a I agree with you, but i think some of the tourists are there purely out of curiosity not with intention of propping up the regime.
@@kdlofty totally. They are curious, I get it. They mean no harm. I just hope that videos like this will send the message out farther and wider, if you know what I mean. The reality of it is so tricky, like how do we help the average citizen there when the only real way to enter the country is by one of these super planned out government “trips”. At what angle can the world peek farther into the hermit country and try to help those who didn’t ask for any of this? It’s such a tight line and a balancing act. I don’t know the answer myself.
Man... when he takes out that RF detector to "show him how it works" and then suddenly he realizes he has stuff hidden on himself. I can't imagine the stress in that moment.
I had no idea North-Korea had a friend-group in Denmark. What a sad bunch of people.
This struck me too.
They get 20 lonely, dismayed people together and just randomly make them DPRK investment seekers 😂
I dont comment very often on UA-cam videos but I have to say that I was in awe from start to finish. True courage and exceptional journalism in the face of evil where the consequences could have been unfathomably terrible. Hats off to "The Mole and Mr.James" for the successful execution of an incredibly ballsy and valiant plan to infiltrate the DPRK as well as expose the corruption within government in Uganda. The thought of displacing 1000s of impoverished men, women and children from the island on Lake Victoria and an inter-generational way of life on the lake island is tragic, yet in this example of evil in action at such a scale it ended up eclipsed and left in he shadows of afterthought.
Goodluck to everyone involved and hope they stay safe.
👏
In most central African countries it's like that
Central Africa is a colossal "black hole" in the world where anything goes if there is money to be made, the governments are all basically violent clans of criminals and conmen that pose as "politicians" and don't even get me started on the "police" o "judiciary system"... it's all a joke that runs on money in any given direction
Child labor, teenage prostitution, burrial of any kind of toxic waste and such are all "businesses" directly overlooked by them
There were moments when I actually thought I was watching a 'spoof' documentary.
I'm still not sure 🤣
@@MrMeadfootthe reason it’s like that cuz In real life these sorts of events are often clunky and weird and when seen by a third party or told to a third party, can often be seen that way.

The most of the film needs subtitles
Wait!!…….as someone who has watched many NK documentaries……I recognize one of the board members as someone who was interviewed many yrs later and introduced as a Danish authority of NK, who has written many books on its leaders. He does say that current leader KJY is NOT a madman and is very intelligent and each step he takes with his country has reasons behind it. The film crew, nor this gentleman himself, EVER says or admits that he is a communist himself, and is on a Danish board who support NK!!!! Why not if he is so proud of his communist support for NK??

I sure wish there were English subtitles during the danish speak! I’m dying to know what was said at the conversation starting at 38:00
Exactly! I hope someone can translate
"Let's start with the entirely mundane ... But, but it's important to bring gifts. Now the best you can bring to DPRK is Hennessey cognac. That means take at least one bottle cognac each."
" Another important fact is; NEVER make a joke about the great leader (or the other high-power ones). There might be situations where you might want to, but no. Don't go there!"
"The third, there is barely ANY country in the world where they drink more alcohol than in DPRK. If you are bad at keeping the liquer down, then one should not go to DPRK. Never cover up statements or keep stuff hidden."
"The less you provoke stuff, the better. The more they come to you, the better."
"It's not me that is buying something, it's them that are selling."
"Exactly."

they vegetabled a kid because he took a poster, its literally unimaginable what they would have done to the mole or Mr James
I live in Canada and this is so messed up.
the fact this only had 40k views is almost a bigger crime than being a Mole in NK
I watched the Masterpiece called The Red Chapel and I have to tell you, I’ve watched MANY NK documentaries where ppl come for tours and secretly film. This was very different! They were able to slip right under the radar as Danish-Korean comedians and fraudulently gained love and trust from their minders. It’s astonishing! I can’t help but really fear for the minders who were tricked. Once The Red Chapel was released they could very well have been executed because this went way beyond a “tour”. They were there for 2 weeks as performers and performed for NK, and got a much much more intimate hospitality that NO OTHER documentary (tours with hidden cameras) has ever gotten! The one Danish-Korean comedian was handicapped and truly moved the hearts of his minder Mrs Pak. She could be dead over this and that’s scary.
Amazing achievement. But the moment when they told the Ugandans that they're gonna build a hospital almost made me retch. That was just fucking disgusting. Also completely unneccessary.

From the USA to many many other countries!! Illegal deals taking place daily, deals that many couldn't even fathom!! Peoples within a governing body or regime making multi-million dollar deals while many others are none the wiser. Really sheds light to the saying "No-one got rich being honest"
Thanks for all your exhausting time and effort that was given to this. Now it would seem that I was only mildly familiar with the "mole" as I had seen a small excerpt some time ago. I was not aware of the Mr. James nor the length of time that was vested into this "operation". That's no small feat.
the documentary is amazing from the time it begins to the end. A question kept raising in my mind is that by How the mole manage to film all scene he get involved. Its acceptable that KFA member allow him to do it as his task of propaganda but even private meeting for illegal work (with Mole, Jame, Kang et al...) with high-ranking officials in North Korea and at Denmark embassy. How they allow Mole to film all the way? At the beginning he justify the reason to provide meeting evidence/ progress report for his supervisor (Alejandor) but I dont think it makes any sense to do it in front of high-ranking offcials
