@@6lakGesus a lot of watches don't have orignal box and papers usually because it was lost by its original owner or was pawn off where the seller would like more money by not including it so they don't signal to the person receiving the watch they don't want to collect the watch and the person would drive a lower pawn value. In extreme cases the watch could be stolen where the serial numbers would have been scratched off or re engraved or laser if the buyer of the stolen goods is careful.
These watch modifiers profits from also selling the gen parts odd the watch by replace it with the after market ones set with diamond you see on this vid.
@@6lakGesus box is whatever one can purchase a matching box online relatively fast and cheap. Papers are important for buyer confidence (yourself and the next buyer if you’re going to sell it down the road) firstly it helps authenticate the watch and secondly you’ll know it’s not a stolen one.

Drilling holes in factory parts destroys the value and often time ls these jewelers will swap genuine parts for aftermarket parts and reseller the factory making even more money off you. If your going to do this fine it's your life but INSIST of getting aftermarket diamond embedded parts and retain the original parts yourself in the event you want to sell down the line. There a reason at all this watch trade shows there's tables lined with legitimate rolex dials and bezels.

Anyone looking to buy a rolex and modify it, make sure you are aware the Rolex service department will not service your watch if the dial or bezel have been modified with aftermarket parts. They just flat out reject the work. Find a local repair ship that can get rolex parts. They'll still be using parts from other broken rolexes just fyi.

116520 Daytona! 💯 one of my all time favourites, I own two, one to rock and one to stock, completely new old stock condition with stickers. Super iconic, versatile and understated. I would never buy the newer ceramic version unless I could for retail price it just doesn’t make sense paying so much more for a stupid ceramic bezel 😂

Those watches started with little value. They old rolexes that have not been properly serviced, badly scratched, fake replacement parts, etc. Thats why they mostly have no boxes and papers. People who appreciate the watches will keep all of that stuff and only get it service by official factory service. They are disguising beat up rollies with gawdy ice and mediocre craftsmanship.

If I saved up to buy my first Rolex, I would possibly consider resale value as I'm not rich. Therefore I wouldn't want to pay $3,000+ to depreciate something which as a brand has always stood by being very classy.

Rolex does not sell directly to the consumer, to buy a new Rolex you have to go to a authorized Rolex retailer and even in this case a lot of reputable retailers have waiting lists for the more popular models or models that are about to be discontinued.
Adding after market diamonds reduces value because the demand for them is reduced significantly.
Similar Ferrari cars.. Wait list, Ferrari Sues the owners if the car is modified, most medium Rich people buy for investment and resale.... Super rich make them look the way they want!!!
