      Break them short and then sharpen them. The length isn’t good when it’s so thin due to the flex. Making them Short will save you so much headache.

      I just ordered some small diamond disc to try this, thanks for the idea. I watched a video of a Russian jeweler making his own from a tungsten blank, that would be a nice skill to have. @@ozguryeter9498

      It is EXTREMELY tedious and time consuming, I have so many customers wanting to act like their job should be done in a day and my response is always "I don't make promises, I'll get it done as quick as I can". I usually start my day with two boxes full of work and that's not including watches

      @BH-pl7vg 11 місяців тому

      Sometimes they’re bent over but usually for bigger diamonds and sort of depends on setting I think.
      (For example, you’d likely see that on a wedding ring with a protruding solitaire)

    • @windhorst3187
      @windhorst3187 6 місяців тому

      The chains are handmade already. Very tedious process. They take gold rings and then connect them like a chain and then twist them after heating so they have that angle. Then they sand/file front and back so that it's smooth. They couldn't make them ahead of time because they have to twist the metal.

    Can break this down real fast. First, they drill out tons of really good quality gold reducing the value of your necklace. Then, they replace said valuable gold with worthless pointers thrown away by other jewelers. Last, you pay the labor for doing so (pave bench work looks good though). The end..
