Amazing craftmanship. I always wondered how this was done. The unsung heros of the Jewelery world. Thanks for posting. Its up their with watch making I'd say.
It is EXTREMELY tedious and time consuming, I have so many customers wanting to act like their job should be done in a day and my response is always "I don't make promises, I'll get it done as quick as I can". I usually start my day with two boxes full of work and that's not including watches
I just ordered some small diamond disc to try this, thanks for the idea. I watched a video of a Russian jeweler making his own from a tungsten blank, that would be a nice skill to have. @@ozguryeter9498
I am learning how to do this.... I did a bracelet and got so tired of working on it that I stopped... it's been a back burner project for a while now.... guess I'll get back to it...thanks for being honest with the amount of time it takes
Sometimes they’re bent over but usually for bigger diamonds and sort of depends on setting I think. (For example, you’d likely see that on a wedding ring with a protruding solitaire)
Incredible. Just unbelievable! Lots of little hand work 👌That's why jewelry costs a lot of money. My God, if I was doing this kind of thing, I would probably break my eyes 🙂
The labor costed more than the actual gold necklace. What was the weight of the necklace before the holes and afterwards? Does the owner get his gold dust back or some discount for the gold dust?
DIAMOND SETTERS MAKE 1$ per diamon they set if its prong set! if they have to drill and pave set,its $3..if they charging anything higher then that they are ripping you straight off..
Using a tiny ball Fraser (ball baring) helps get the positioning right and as the initial cavity you make is smaller than the final drill with the drill bit, you have more room for error should your positioning goes tits up halfway through like it tends to do lol
I want a guarantee that the diamonds won’t fall out and be lost. That’s a lot of hand fitting. Some are gonna probably come loose and fall out and be lost.
Hey what’s up boss I’m interested in a cuban link just like that one , where can I purchase one from you , I am also interested in adding diamonds to my Rolex , please reply thank u so muchh
The chains are handmade already. Very tedious process. They take gold rings and then connect them like a chain and then twist them after heating so they have that angle. Then they sand/file front and back so that it's smooth. They couldn't make them ahead of time because they have to twist the metal.
I wish I could be a diamond setter, there are courses that teach to set diamonds in rings but not chains and watches, I want to specialise In watches and chains. I would how you diamond setters made it to were you are
Göründüğü gibi kolay olsa bi cekic bir matkapla olmuyor bu is en az 12saatini almistir ve en az 3 yilik tecrube ister ..her usta ninda isi degil ..tebrikler
Cool process, but this is a waste of money. The diamonds are pretty much worthless when that small. The true value is the gold and the labor he's putting in to set those diamonds. The day the owner of the chain decides to resell it, they'll only give him the value of the gold and 3 to 5 percent of the value of the diamonds.

I been trying to teach myself how to do this. One thing I learned so far, I'm the king at breaking drill bits.
Break them short and then sharpen them. The length isn’t good when it’s so thin due to the flex. Making them Short will save you so much headache.

It's ferris wax. Once it hardens, nothing sticks to it.
Don't care about jewelry but that making process is really interesting 😄
Loved the video and THANK YOU for showing how long it takes to make. People look at UA-cam and think it takes a few hours to make something lol.
No this dude done spent an out a day making this I could spend all day doing this and finish it
Got to give props where props are due. Nice work
Great video right to the point. Jewelry craftsmanship is amazing.

Are you still currently doing this?
How interesting! I always thought they bent the pins over the diamond, but you just rounded off the tops making them fit snug.
Sometimes they’re bent over but usually for bigger diamonds and sort of depends on setting I think.

@@BH-pl7vgwhat about on a damaged setting? Or do you just have to remove the old prongs and put them back
Nice work, setting process is definitely good, the stones set by the use of birts and drills,
Complimenti, hai effettuato un ottimo lavoro, parola di orafi italiani
crazy the amount of work involved
WOW this was awesome thanks for giving us an insight on how it's done..♥️💪🏿🙏🏿😁👍🏿

What do they use as glue?
What size diamonds are typically useful for Cuban links they are so tiny😅
I still dont understand how they stand still in place with just some hits
The hits make the top of the gold spread to the sides making it mushroom 🍄 a bit then you clean with cup burr

I still wonder how the diamonds are held in place. Is vaseline the ream glue for diamonds and gold?
No. The prongs hold them in place. You see how he gets the pick and pushes certain areas when he puts the diamond in? The prong "sets" the diamond
He is using Vaseline to "Grab" the diamonds and put it into place.I wonder if that would dull the finish on the other side of the diamond.
@@davezoom-yb8pm no it won‘t because of the drilled holes, after the chain is beeing cleaned and polished it looks all good:))
How do they know how deep to drill. It all has to be the same depth and doing that by hand is crazy.
3:36 i have something that looks very similar to that. If you know you know
Isn’t the Vaseline going to be “behind” the diamond after you set it. Cause it to be clouded in the back??
Nice work tho. Love the video showing the progress of these.
