- സഞ്ജയ് ഗാന്ധി മുതല്‍ രാഹുല്‍ ഗാന്ധി വരെ മത്സരിച്ച് ജയിച്ച നെഹ്റു കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തം അമേഠിയില്‍ സ്മൃതി ഇറാനി വിരിയിച്ച താമരയ്ക്ക് പിന്നില്‍ അവരുടെ കഠിന പ്രയത്‌നമുണ്ട്. കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന് തീറെഴുതി കൊടുത്ത മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ രാഹുല്‍ ഗാന്ധിയെ നാല്‍പ്പതിനായിരത്തിലധികം വോട്ടുകളുടെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിലാണ് സ്മൃതി തോല്‍പ്പിച്ചത്. 2014ല്‍ ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തോളം വോട്ടുകള്‍ക്ക് രാഹുല്‍ ഗാന്ധിയോട് പരാജയപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ ഒരു മധുര പ്രതികാരം.
