  • Found this John Deer Power Wheels in the trash with no battery and wheels that were in very bad shape. As a dad that likes to save money, I thought I could give this tractor a second chance. Started by testing the power wheels to make sure it worked. I used an old ryobi drill cut off the base and used the wires coming from the drill to connect to the power wheels. The Peg Prego wheel were out of my price range. After looking at several ideas, I found some old buckets that I could screw and glue to the old wheels to make a new set of fresh wheels (a little wider hahah). I then coated the buckets/wheels with flexseal spray- link below. Finally, I reinstalled the wheels back onto the power wheels.

The Ryobi battery mod you casually mentioned. THAT'S WHAT I NEED. How does it output at the proper voltage?

Hooked it up in place of battery. Found it in the trash so I just went for it. Works good. The dude dad channel made one that I believe he had voltage regulator and a few other safeties.
