My nephew (3) just received one, and his Mom is a single parent. She put most of it together, and we stopped by to help with the final assembly.
When we were all finished, it would not respond in first or reverse at all. Never tried second.
I had to leave, and would return with my meter to determine if the battery was charged, and with the connector separated, look back with my fluke meter to see if there was any resistance prior, and once I pressed the accelerator.
Odd that the charger does not show different state between charging and fully charged.
Green light stays on no matter the status. Instructions really need some expansion regarding the design vs insight.
Went to church this morning, and was going to return this afternoon, but we had to reschedule for tomorrow.
I assumed that someone had to experience issues with these, so after church went onto UA-cam, and sure enough found this one.
I work in electronic security, so adept with a meter and trouble shooting, but this video was well done, and pointed out that the spade connectors are apparently not well crimped to remain tightly secure, especially if they are run over rough terrain and certainly could vibrate off.
My concern, is this is straight out of the box, my brother, his great uncle (lives out of state) sent this via Amazon, and was excited to get this going before the young man returns from a vacation with his extended family.
Now, after viewing this, I have a better idea regarding where to look, and probably recheck all of these.
I assumed it would be either at the shifter or motors, and viewed on the schematic a thermal protector in series.
None, the less, thank you for a great video, and a heads up insight regarding where to begin looking.
I was hoping that it would be better assembled, if this is the case, and was upbeat about it being built in America. Oh well.
Thank you sir for taking the time to put this together! Very generous of you to do so!
