    Hi Graeme,
    Great video and very inspiring. Im new to Fishing and cant get enough of it. I love Fishing off Harbours and Anstruther is my favourite so far. I get the most success with my 8ft Carp Rod. I have a new Sonic SKS Black 14ft Rod with a Penn Surfblaster 7000 reel but havent caught anything with it yet. I need to learn how to cast it properly too. Loads to learn but loving it. We have had some fantastic weather up here over the last month and its been perfect for getting out there and learning.
    What i like most about your videos is that you dont complicate things and fry new guys brains with jargon etc.
    Anyway Bye For Now Graeme,
    Steve in Fife.

    Hi Graeme love the show and you're totally right I've actually used nuts for weights on a £9 Aldi rod and reel and caught some of my best fish unfortunately live in the north of England in Sunderland the beach fishing is not so great and fishing South Shields from jetties but only dabs and other flatfish if you're lucky a codling or Whiting but find it difficult to walk now has had a few problems but loved trying and making my own rigs but can't climb over rocks like I used to one of my favourite bits is just mackerel and yes limpets have also had luck with streaky bacon flatfish seem to love this but you just use the fat to tip but really had some good results

    Very good videos. You teach a lot for people. I always free line with a whole mackerel with the tail off from July to October 2 x 8/0 hooks pennel . No weights at all. All the clip down rigs look and sell nice but what's the point when you cast over every fish. (I only target bass ) just a flick in the dark with a bass rod and wait!! Slack line bite in pitch black makes the heart beat. Especially pulling in a double figure bass!! 20/30 yards and that's it. I've stood on a bass before spinning in knee deep water. It was just sat there basking in the sun. I'd never clip down anymore. Sold all my multipliers!! Good luck

  • @jameshancock6570
    @jameshancock6570 9 років тому +3

    Graeme, have you tried circle hooks on your rigs from the beach? Perhaps that would help keep the fish from 'digesting' the hooks...

      Fishing 2002Jersey Never try them but I tend to use muscle a lot near where I am due to the rocky outcrop and loads of them on the rocks. Also limpets so will give that one a go.

      Limpets can be a good bait for wrasse, and mini species. For standard bait fishing they aren't very effective, they don't give off a good scent trail.

    @sam8fish 9 років тому

    The oyster looking mollusk on the rock was likely some sort of Chiton (kī-ˌtän) they are more closely related to snails than bivalves and shellfish. They eat algae off of the rock, they attach themselves to the rock to protect their soft undersides. They are very hard to remove. You would need a chisel/pry bar. Or a hammer and an awl to break the Outer shell

    • @Agar4Life
      @Agar4Life 8 років тому

      +sam8fish It's definitely an oyster. Chitons would have a segmented shell that would be pretty obvious and you'd lever it off okay.
      I'm pretty sure that's an invasive pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas. Imported to France, larvae escaped the farms and they've made their way all over the coasts in Northern Europe. If you see one of these, take it off if you can - you're doing the environment a favour. Plus, they're very good eating, if the water's clean. But be careful, those shells are sharp as razor blades and cut open your wrists or fingers! Nasty.

    that oyster is an invasive pacific oyster that lives on rocks. Native ones attack to nothing and have an indent within the sand. They are much smaller.

    Bloody Hell! I could hardly understand a word you were saying! To bad, I think you might have had some good tips....I did get that you should try and check things out at low tide. I also like some of your rigs. A little bit different than the way I have fished on beaches, but I am in America. Also another thing I do agree with is fishing by inlets and streams going into the ocean. This has always worked well for me both in saltwater or freshwater river and lakes.
