Fishing from an Abandoned Railway line - Am I on the right track for a fish?!

- Fishing from an abandoned railway track. Greme heads down to the South coast where he fancies a bit of estuary fishing, but not from a beach, this time he is casting out from a disused old Railway line! He then tries a second spot, following the tide down to where it empties into the sea. He also films a section when he dropped into a car repair yard when he spotted something that looked the same colour as the old boat "Hi Sea Drifter". Finally he drops in to see Grant and get some info on float fishing that might help out a few beginners...Enjoy.

Watching antiques roadshow and a familiar voice made me look up from my phone 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have just done the same thing
Me too @@marcoscrookart688
Graeme is a legend. Even across the pond. I found one of his fishing books in my Grandfathers collection. Made me appreciate a wide variety of fish (carp are trash fish, or viewed as invasive in U.S) so not many target them here. I find carp on light gear one of my favorite sports fish. A 15lb carp on 6lb mono is one of the best fights i have ever had in fresh or saltwater. I enjoy TA fishing and TA outdoors more than anyother outdoor channel. Have shared knowlege learned from Graeme and Mike with my own children. As an outdoorsman..I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are truly TA
Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoy the films. Hopefully I get enough time to load one for this Friday....I just need 30 hours in every day,not 24..
Like others posting here, I immediately perked up when a familiar face appeared on the AR programme. "That's Graeme Pullen!" To the wife. "Who's he?" was her reply. My wife has now been educated!😂
In a scene replicated across the country whilst watching antiques roadshow- man exclaims, "i know him, that Graeme, he catches awesome fish". Wife looks mystified. TA :)
Totally Awesome Antiques Roadshow 🛎
So random I had to look twice 😂😂
🤣 about to comment. I have seen him on there before lol totally awesome
Very enjoyable to watch as always Sir!
Big thanks to yourself and Grant as always for sharing your knowledge with us, its much appreciated both.
Cheers
Rob.
Magic. Just seen you on the Antiques road show. Had to get a bit in about your rods lol😂
What a awesome place Graeme. Fantastic the south coast. I haven't had the pleasure of fishing it yet but looking forward to it in the future.
Great to see the little bit of beach cleaning Graeme. We all need to do it when we find it. Gives us anglers an awful rep with the amount that's found. There's a line recycling scheme, ANLRS, for all your old line, plus a lot of shops will take it off you.
I really rate driftbeaters for tench and bream fishing. I use really light ones that will sink with a single swan shot (
Had to do a double take ,, good to see you got "Totally Awesome" in on ARS 👍👍👍
Many years ago me and the wife got stranded in that area of water to the right the railway signal..we went out on a blow up dinghy and the tide very quickly went out leaving us beached on the sand bed 🙈🙈very stressful 😅
What a van!! Love only fools. Still the best thing on tele😂
The weedmeister. Well done for sticking it out.
Years ago a couple of mates were given a decrepit Reliant Robin. They didn’t know much about cars but decided to learn something by stripping it right down and rebuilding.
That went well except they kept finding the holes for cables were all in the wrong places and had to drill others.
When the took it to be reregistered the mechanic who did it said it was OK but it was really odd that the A frame chassis was upside down - which was the reason they’d had to do all the drilling!!
Always good to see you fishing on the Island. My home turf 👍
A blank is not so bad when you're in such a lovely location. Great video as usual. Your enthusiasm and knowledge keeps us all enthralled. Keep up the great work. All the best to you and looking forward to the next one.
I'm sure there will be plenty more blanks, but I can't fault the weather..Almost too good.
I've long since given up on that particular spot, I've tried many methods and never caught a single thing there. The groynes, inn and amusement park beach sections usually seem to work for me.
Graeme, just seen you on the Antiques Roadshow!
Long time since I fished the Old Hayling Billy line, Langstone harbour looks a good as it always was, never had any Smooth hounds there though normally Flatties and the occasional bass 👍🏻
I don't think i'll ever get used to seeing you fishing places i've been fishing myself.
Another great video Graeme! Happy weekend!
Graham your on the Telly Antiques Road show 😂you have made it congratulations mate
I was just gonna comment I’ve just seen him 😂😂
Same I was literally just watching it thinking is there going to be a live or something, He got Totally awesome in at the end 🤣
Haha that's why I visited as well. Lovely box he has probably the only one he owns without tackle in it.
Had the telly on & I heard his voice & thought hang on that sounds like Graeme 😁
Missed a trick should have been wearing TA merchandise
I just saw you on the antiques road show 😂
Nearly spat me dinner out then!! Antiques Roadshow!!! 😊
Just spotted you on the Antiques Roadshow, totally awesome!
Thank you for the upload Graeme, beautiful scenery 👍
It was a nice day. I knew it was not the best of fishing conditions, but still a pleasure to be out by the ocean with all that lovely blue sky and no wind.
@TAFishing I blank a few times, it's inevitable, but, getting out, enjoying nature etc, is worth the effort 👍
Another AWESOME video Graeme 🎣👍, luv your visits to Grant's fishing tackle store. Wish we had fishing stores like that in Canada 🇨🇦, as I detest going to Bass pro or Cabelas. As most of the staff are brain less idiots
Did I just see you on the antiques roadshow?!
LOL @choppergibbs100 same mate just caught the AR at Ham House and up pops Graham with his music box! Not a bad return that eh? Well done.
Hi T.A, look forward to another Sea Fushing Video, i had some good luck at Southsea, small pier near fishing club end. Loads of Mackerel as tide came in. I was using a silver mackerel spinner and was catching every second! Purchased at the local tackle shop there, next time i want to try this combined with 3 feathers at the top. All the best for the spring! :-) Tight Lines!
Could do with some fresh Macks for the freezer as I'm out of stock and only have Sardines left. Hopefully another month and the weather settles down.
Fishing harbours these days is not easy. I do find that using smaller hooks and baits helps. The downside is you will only catch small fish but at least you are catching.
Edit: ha I commented before I heard you dropped down on the hook size. Would have been interesting to do that at the first location.
Ace watch mate really enjoyed it
Graham put a pop up rig on big saving on your bait
Hi Graham you ok pal, I nice mash up of vids again brilliant. I still can,t get past the dabs and flounder, n the odd whiting lingering about on the humber . I no am not blanking but could do with a change of species lol. Love the show Graham as you no. All the best from GRIMSBY
At least you are getting a few fish. Down here its just been windy all the time with stirred up water on the beaches.
I was waiting for you to stop for a pint at The Ferry Boat Inn. I love the island since early 60s. Taught lines mate👍
I have never actually been in there,so sounds like I might have missed a trick being so close to where I was fishing.
Oooh, what a wonderful day.
Perch bobbers have their uses. They used to come in tiny sizes to almost pike bung on a stick. Handy worming for trout in shallow turbulent streams.
what a great guy Grant is, lots of info on float choice.
I have fished a few spots around Hayling always weedy, great weather though. Popped into a charity shop the other day and purchased an old fishing box of bits and bobs but the star buy was a couple of old porcupine floats just like l used as a kid70 years ago. All for £3, nostalgic over the moon.
Good price..A lot of charity shops don't seem to want fishing tackle...probably terrified of "pointy floats" and sharp hooks.
omg your English newspaper filled with Aldi and German football 😂
Know Chichester and all that area very, very well.
On the other side of the bridge, past the pub, there is a walkway that goes out to the main channel. On a neap, bass can provide great sport.
Fishbourne too, if you make your way down past the old mill pond and through the reed beds (boots are needed) bass provide great sport on a rising tide. Don't get cut off though and mind the mud! Boots recommended.
Thanks for the tips, might help somebody get a fish or two.
Heard the sirens and thought that Graeme's pallet thieving had finally caught up with him.
Nice to see smith back , where’s Mabel did she go with high -sea drifter Graeme 😉
Hayling island? Got to ask Graham, do you have a wardrobe full of brown corduroy trousers, it’s got to be your taf uniform 😝
I don't have a wardrobe full of anything, but the wife does have it on her priority list to scour the charity shops for brown cords...I'm done with wearing stiff jeans at my age...need a bit of comfort.
Always worth a cast or 2 with surface lure or shallow diving lures plastic weedless , in around the mullet as often a Bass or more will be in amongst them, Graham feeding on crabs and sand ells etc that the mullet disturbs.
Is it Hayling Island? If it is the train that used to run was nicknamed Puffing Billy, I’ve been on it.
Yes,the old Hayling Billy line.
good old hayling good for getting peeler crab from under that bridge
You should try to use pop up baits , helps keeps the crabs off . maybe punt some bread paste out and try for mullet
It's busier than ever now in places like this on the water I only ever go at nite 90% of the time then back home before it gets busy ...
Magic Graeme thank you
'The right track.' Very good!
Looks like Hayling Island
Fished that spot about 20 years ago. I caught nothing and my friend caught a flounder in 6 hours of fishing.
Looks like a high water mark that one Grahame
It gets very, very deep. Bass on a neap with a lure are great!
@@crazyferret9409 looks like Grahame was on a neap there
old hayling billy line
Are there wild budgies in uk ??
I would say so,and Parakeets certainly.
Not a blank you got crabs lol
Thanks for reminding me....
@@TAFishing what's the best bait at the moment rag or lug
The 2 people below commented after 40 seconds.
Must be in a different time zone or something
There's more of them now 😂 comment section is like the old sun page 3's
thank god the van was did not have " Trotters Independent Trading Services "on it otherwise it be called T.I.T.S ..for short
Why no new video in 2 weeks mate
If you follow our Facebook you will see that due to overload of work I had no time to edit a film last week . I don't have extra cameramen and editors I have to do everything on my own,so its important I prioritise my own business. I only do UA-cam as a pastime in the evenings after working all day. There may be more missed Friday films, but I will generally get Mike to mention it on our Facebook.
Some nice chem trails...
Use them for bait
