    This man has truly earned my respect for not only building a robot, but then choosing a PS1 controller as the best device for controlling it!

    The level of engineering you guys have put on this robot is insane. I work with Nao's and Darwin's but I've never seen anything so complex and realistic. Kudos! I would love to work with this robot.

    If you think this is a waste, just consider this: Much of what a robot is, isn't a physical structure, it is programming. The robot, no matter how crude it looks, is a platform to test control systems for balance, motion, performing tasks, computer vision algorithms etc. Once the programming is created, it can be installed on a much more physically impressive robot. They have a reason for doing this, and it's to help the future, even if we can't all see it just yet.

    Don't panic. In case of an evil robot takeover, they'll just fit Kojiro here with blue armor and an arm cannon and he'll save us.

    @wellthatsgr8 I totally agree. Whenever I see a smart robot, that's all I think about. Robot's right now are just babies... they need us to help them learn, but what happens when the robot's are smart enough to look after themselves? They gain control to everything, military weapons, food/water, lights, everything really... when they're smart enough, why would they think they need us when they don't? After all... they're that smart.

    @Erick726 don't downplay the complications of moving parts. the hardware must coordinate just so, and that means custom-made parts. "anyone can make a humanoid robot with enough knowledge" is not general enough a statement. It should read "enough knowledge and money," except that is true for about anything.

    • @Chiefstep
      @Chiefstep 9 років тому +9

      That's because most of the more advanced robotics companies are of Asian origin. I know for a fact the US doesn't give much of a fuck about anything cool and potentially revolutionary like that, unless it's for war. Our government has no fucking straight priorities anymore. Besides, I don't know why it matters what ethnicity the person presenting it is. We're all human.

      Neon Gneisis Evangelion was a tv amine series back in the 1990s, it was basically a robot vs monster story with deep religious, and psychological subject matter interlaced in it especially in mental breakdown, suicidal tendencies, isolation, alienation, ptsd, abuse, both mental and physical, relationships desire for one,. Utterly unforgiving after a couple episodes, and doesn't hide the fact that the show is basically about the mental and physical destruction of 14 year children forced to fight horrific edrtch abominations that mentally rip them apart little by little, oh and the complete and utter extinction of all life on earth via orange tang. The series is brutal, End of Evangelion will mentally screw you over if your young but old enough to understand it and the new movies are even crazier. Enjoy 😈 ,

    question: who is responsible for designing the mechanical of the joints(not motors or forces, just the joint itself, like how it will blend its legs i.e., how it will be able to stick the arm to the side i.e.) Theres a specific position called for this? Thats what I think the most cool about robotics, designing how it will be able to things physically..
