Amazing that some people are criticizing this. Its incredible to see that it is so advanced so soon, not as much as Asimo but then again, Asimo has been constantly upgraded for 10 years! Its often the case that companies with less resources available are the source of some serious innovation as a result, and plus, competition will help drive improvements.
hey guys this is Iran's first exhibition of robotic articulation on humanoid level. despite not having the same level resources as honda or the other robotics leader iranian engineers have done a great job.. those simple movements are fairly complicated themselves. so dont whine. This is a great achievement iran is considering R&D in such levels
Seems to be a good foundation to improve on, already able to balance, able to walk, in the future to come, it should show excellent performance as the design gets better, as all do.

Integration of a gyroscope and shifting counterweight in the upper body will eliminate most of the upper body instability and allow it to confirm its position and center of gravity faster, thus allowing faster walking.
Although it does walk slowly they still found a way for robots to walk with more human body parts to them!

You make a valid point,and yes eventually they will come up with better versions,their first one came out just in 2008.Japan and South Korea are more advanced than Iran,so no suprise there,especially Japan.Iran is fairly new to robotics.Btw sorry for the name calling,thanks.

I mean, I can build and program something like that, and I am all not that smart and educated as one would expect them to be at the Center for Advanced Vehicles.

Why did they copy the appearance of asimo ? It could have been more interesting if they had made it original. They could have made it a neck to look up, down, it could be better.

Looks like some iranian 'scientist' stopped by Toys-R-Us and got this thing- I mean it barely walks.
Its not impressive, especially since Asimo will get you a beer, do your taxes and dance to MC Hammer's "You can't Touch this!" all at the same time, but I guess in the new politically correct world we have to say "Everyone is a winner! Congrats Iran"

If this robot were any slower and more clumsy, he would be named "Sloth-bot." This is just as silly as the Iranian flying saucer and flying boats! Iran seems to be suffering from an inferiority complex (and no, Japan is not "west").
