Just got my first LP ever not long ago. It's one of the more affordable Tributes in honeyburst, yet it still plays and sounds like no guitar I've ever had before. It very quickly became my new #1.

I stumbled across a 2018 Tribute honeyburst a few years ago. It plays like no other LP I've ever picked up. I absolutely love it! I'll be putting a set of Bonamassa Skinner Burst pickups soon and it'll be even more awesome.

Very nice! Considering one of these. You didn't mention the weight; from what I see at various stores online, most of these are WELL over 9 lbs. Yikes. Also, I assume it came with 10's; did you have to tweak the set up at all when you changed to the 9's? Most of us won't get one from Gibson, so we will have a chance to get the initial setup tweaked as necessary. I've recently gone to 9.5's on my LP's, down from 10's, and really liking that! I immediately fell in love with this guitar when I first saw them and later played one at my local guitar store, not only do they sound killer but the colour immediately reminded me of George Harrison’s classic “Lucy” Les Paul (which also made me happy since The Beatles were the first band I heavily got into when I first started playing guitar and Harrison was (and still is) my first major influence, plus that’s one of my favourite guitars he’s ever played). I have a black Custom and it’s incredible! But I’m telling you, this Standard SHREDS!

I am definitely biased when it comes to Les Paul's at least I admit it. If the guitar is set up right you can shred
on it period. It's not only your father's type of guitar playing the Blues/Rock sounds (It does that very well)
but it can take whatever you give it. I never really paid too much attention to the thickness of the necks or
radius, I just pick it up and play it. Other guitars play differently and that's great too, more tools for the job.
Damn Gibson I do have a complaint lol that Cardinal Red is hot! I want one and I wouldn't mind the Oxblood
one reminds me of Jeff Beck, the earlier Jeff Beck "Blow By Blow" The custom colors are a smart move by
Gibson in my opinion. Nice sound on it Ben, does she have a name yet? lol.

Uncle Ben, do you have your guitars plekked? What are your thoughts yay or nay?

Now it's a fight to keep it in tune unless for the first time in Gibson's history they made you a Les Paul with zero tuning issues. This why I went with the Axcess model with the Floyd... now that is an awesome guitar.

Man, all of my LP’s stay in tune GREAT!!!! My 2008 sunburst one has some slight problems, and I suspect they’re related to the badly installed aftermarket tuners. I gig my LP’s all the time and they’re rock solid!

Lets both break a string and see who’s other 5 are closer to in tune

Well, you might have won that test a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, but my Floyd doesn't float. I could break a low E or any other string, and still be in perfect tune. So, I'll take you up that... ;) @@Ottophil

Wow... that's unbelievable. Every LP I've played went out of tune in less than a minute after bending strings... G-string the worst. Due to the headstock angle of 17 degrees, they're normally nothing but problems, especially the infamous out of tune G-string. Could be a substandard nut that they use, but with Gibson's angle it's a recipe for a problem right out of the gate. Epiphone only does a 14 degree angles and their Paul's are much better at staying in tune. It's a beauty, though!@@BenEller

I have a 2004 LP I bought used. I had a hell of a time getting it setup and had tons of tuning issues. Eventually I took it to a luthier I trust and it came back with better tuning stability than most of my guitars. I'm pretty sure LP just need extra attention in the setup and a well cut nut especially. I own an Epiphone LP and they just aren't the same. I think it's the neck angle.

Big and fat in the right places...was expecting a "mom" reference there😂😂. Killer guitar, Sounds great. Congrats, Man. Had one Paul in my lifetime...a pawnshop find studio back in the mid 80's. Took the old scotch bright pad to the back of the neck as I really don't like finished necks. I would definitely not be doing that today with what they are going for. If I pull the trigger again, probably be an epi off of reverb so the butchery would be minimal. Again, killer rig.🤘

You should try to use this machine together with say a classic from 2000 to compare

I can understand since we both know that les Paul after 2001 until few years back is like fender bad period. Question is that a classic from 2000 (good period) cost almost the same so (although I love the Sound and look of this one) should we switch (same neck, same mic I guess but juste the time and may be the frets ..
