The paint colour of those walls is SENSATIONAL. Whatever colour you put in front of it, by way of decorative objects, art, flowers, what have you, just POPS. It goes with everything. I wish more people would cotton on to this colour. Much trial and experimentation to get it exactly right as every house has different walls and different ways of taking in daylight. Wonderful to see this colour in a home tour like this, I really enjoyed it all.
Exactly! I’m a huge fan of France. The south in particular. I always say, whatever the French touch, they make beautiful! And it’s subtle things like this that they get just right. Note there isn’t too much of anything. An American equivalent would be so overdone, so in your face. Those walls would be garish and over saturated.
The beauty and qualities of the home simply reflected the qualities Alice expressed: beauty, graciousness, humility, etc. The home is beautiful, Alice's qualities--palpable and outstanding.
what a beautiful garden, imagine having that as your backyard! like the personality of the house, beautiful. i especially liked the vintage grandfather clock.
In the living room, I would ditch the piano to create more space on that side to have another, matching green sofa on the other side, to create a strong symmetry. I'd then add some kind of strong seating with mass opposite the fireplace to complete the square, and provide another horizontal form to balance the length of the sofas on each side.
Amazing home tour! I would ride my bike from Paris to your home! One day I'd like to visit your gallery. This episode made me subscribe to this channel! Bravo!!
It takes hard work and much sacrifice to achieve that kind of financial security. So farin America if you have an idea or a talent you can launch a business with grant or loan. My friend started a hardwood floor restoration business because he learned about wood and its care and character. So he moved from New York as a sessions drummer to California with a dream to have a successful business. He lived in his van for 7 years and joined a gym to be able to shower every day. He did succeed after much sacrifice and he is now one of premiere hardwood floor restorers in the California. So effort and determiniation with a good talent or idea will yield much.
Regarding the fireplace wall in the dining room at 1:47....... The scale, mass, balance, and positioning of the bust and the lights on the walls is not working effectively. I get the idea behind placing the square picture above the bust --- they are trying to create a horizontal line with the two lights and the picture, and to create a pattern and a rhythm with the three squares in a line. HOWEVER, there are two problems with how they have approached this. First, the positioning of the bust on the mantle implies they want the bust to be a focal point, and having something above the bust distracts from the bust as a focal point on that portion of the wall. It's even more distracting because that distracting picture above the bust is part of a line, and a line is a strong visual that draws the eye away from the bust and toward the eye. Also, the three consecutive squares creates the form of a large rectangle, and that large form makes the bust look dwarfed and small, which further diminishes its power as a focal point. Another problem with this design is the wall area beneath the light fixtures on the left and right walls looks empty and bare. INSTEAD, I would remove the square picture from above the bust and leave the bust as the focal point on that wall. I would then put a square picture on each side of the bust, but lined up vertically with the light fixtures. This will fill in the empty space beneath the lights. But it also would simultaneously create that horizontal line lower down on the wall, in line with the bust. So the eye would be drawn to the horizontal line of the bust and the pictures on each side of it, and the bust would therefore be a focal point within that line or rectangular form. This would also create vertical lines on each side wall, balancing the horizontal and vertical. It would be far more integrated on multiple dimensions, and assist in serving the goal of making the bust the focal point for the entire wall area.
@Parisianvibe What a lovely home. I really enjoyed this. Could you please share the name of the Artist Oba that she mentioned in the art segment? Thank you.
The home is beautiful, but I was immediately drawn out of it everytime she called Ho Chi Minh City Saigon. Her and her husband lived in Vietnam but seemed not to have been influenced by the culture or really their time there. They mainly speak about the Japanese influence.
A lot of Vietnamese still call it Saigon. They discovered Japanese techniques while living in Vietnam - Japanese traditional artisans and craftsmen are famous for their skills and their influence is far-reaching.
Their taste and aesthetic is very close to my own, meaning the colours the space, materials, mix of vintage and classic modern, yes very lovely
Glad you found it relevant and hope you could draw some inspiration 🙌
The woman has a beautiful spirit and peaceful energy about her. Great, calming home too!
Yes, but did you notice she did not let Antoine into the house, she kept him outside, she should have more empathy towards him …
A lovely presentation and a lovely woman.
What a beautiful home...and they haven't spoiled it! It my opinion their taste is impeccable..thanks for sharing your home with us❤

Does anyone know the brand of her blouse and shoes, by the way? Very nice.
So beautiful elegant interior❤ I love it❤ 焼き杉chest is beautiful😮
I try and go for this aesthetic in my home in Walsall.
👌
We were inspired by Vietnam. So we decided to go Japanese.
To these kind of people it's the same thing!
She has such a delightful taste! Her accent is very thick, in a moment I believed she was hispanic like me.
I believe she is French.
Nice information

It’s cute that she likes to just hang out in the bathroom. 😂
