Huck was such a delightful surprise for me. I loved it.
I honestly didn’t even know these Millar world books existed
Empress totally slipped by me!
I think reviewing all the issues of Big Game at once would make sense. Since it'll probably be done by the time you finish all the retrospectives, and that way, it would fit in line with how in each video, you review an entire story. Moreover, each issue of Big Game reads pretty quickly, so that would make for a short review of each issue. Also, I feel like since issues 2-4 are building up to whatever the pay off will occur in issue 5, while there could be speculation after each issue, readers would get the full scope of the story after reading all the issues.
Thanks for the advice, comments and support on these vids. Definitely saving Big Game for one video at the end. It’s taken a lot longer than I anticipated to make these.
I would love to see a Millarworld/Jinxworld crossover that originated from Marvel Comics’ Icon Comics imprint like Superior fights Super Shock from Powers.
That’s a great idea! I loved Powers. Maybe I should do a deep dive on Jinxworld.
Great video
Thank you for watching :)
I think Bonnie was the chosen one because she had the kindest heart in her first life.
I often see good reviews of Huck, and yeah, it's way different than the edgy stuff Millar is usually criticized for.
It reminded me of Forrest Gump too. I did read in Millar's newsletter he is working on Huck 2.
I dislike Empress the most. The way they beat the bad guy is a deux ex machina. I thought the story was ok, but that "twist" made me think the story was bad.
Reborn was the first Millarworld title I read. I liked the art, but there are too many coincidences in the story. The man who killed her husband is like the evil chosen one... and she's the good chosen one... really? I think the most interesting was that people who died could start new lives, and children were even born in the afterlife I think.
I think the afterlife will play a role in Big Game issue 5 though.
I liked Chrononauts well enough, but if they time travel, and all the comics take place in the same universe as Wanted, if they ever travelled back to the 40s-80s, they should've seen a superhero.
All excellent points. I was happy to read about Huck 2. I felt the same way about the Empress ending, but the killer art from Immonen saved it for me. Reborn and Chrononauts were very frustrating reads to say the least. But great point on the Chrono-bros traveling back to the 40s/80s. No doubt time travel will be used to reset everything. That being said, I’ve really enjoyed Big Game so far.
