    Yah. It's very very Kara. They knew exactly what their fans wanted - from the song style to the staging in the music video - and they delivered! Rainbow Bridge World were perfect for them. (Kara were under DSP and RBW bought DSP a few years ago.) Kara were my first Kpop love and you never ever forget your first love, after all. :)

    That extra chair at the early of the MV and the sixth mic during the end I truly shed a tear or two... Rest In Peace Hara, the forever Kara member.
    P/S: My all time favorite Kara song also Lupin, people immediately noticed that iconic 'Shhhhhh'... Yeah, do check out their Dingo Killing Voice. They sound fantastic and really show how 2nd Gen is the Golden Era for K-pop...

    You HAVE to watch the premiere stage for this on Mama(?) because it was EVERYTHING! They did a medley and THEN this.
    Charmed me from the first second AND it got them a music show win, making them the only group to have one in 3 different decades. WHO ELSE BUT KARA?!

    I have such a soft spot for 2nd gen kpop. They were my intro to kpop back in 2009, plus most of the idols are similar in age to me. This really felt like the good old kpop, just grown up and modernized a bit, and I love it. It still is on my playlist several months later. Definitely a fave of 2022.

    I've had this on repeat since it came out. When I Move is now one of my favorite KARA title tracks (though Mamma Mia still remains my number 1). The members themselves have even said that as soon as they heard the chorus of the demo they knew it was the one. They didn't even need to hear the rest lol. It retains that iconic KARA sound while also modernizing it for the current k-pop landscape. Getting to see them perform on music shows again, go to end of year award shows, and interact with 3rd and 4th gen groups has been so fun and I love seeing Nicole and Jiyoung with Youngji. I'm also so happy they get along so well together. Jiyoung and Youngji have become quite the duo lol. I hope they keep this momentum going and continue to release music as a group (and not make us wait almost 8 years again lol). You should really check out the Killing Voice they did! It's a great one. Their MAMA and SMA performances are amazing as well.
    I know i'm rambling a bit, but I do want to give praise to Youngji. She was the only remaining member of KARA under DSP after the other 3 left in 2016 and worked her butt off to uphold the KARA name and make sure it was not forgotten. She would perform their songs by herself at festivals and shows and hit all the vocals while doing the choreo. She is so talented. When questioned on why she renewed her contract with DSP in 2021 she said it was to ensure that at least one KARA member had access to the name and songs and I just respect her so much for that. She truly loves this group and it kills me when I see people bash her or insinuate she isn't a "real" KARA member because she was added later. I'm just...really proud of her and i'm so happy she is getting to experience group promotions again.
    Side note: Funny you mentioned Rainbow. They were actually under the same company as KARA, DSP Media (who is now owned by RBW). I don't think any of the Rainbow members are still at DSP but with the success of KARA's comeback I feel like a Rainbow reunion is more possible.

    • @KiGeprak
      @KiGeprak Рік тому

      Yeah DSP basically only have Youngji, KARD and MIRAE under them

    The fascinating thing about this isn’t only the fact that it feels as if they never left.
    But also that some members are in this group together at the same time for the first time because of line up changes), but it actually doesn’t feel like that at all!
    (There was actually one more member, SungHee, she left before the first comeback because of focusing on school and left the industry in general (now she works as vocal coach), but since she wasn’t active more a longer period of time as other members, who left during their career, it doesn’t count, I guess)
    To answer your question about the MV.
    Well, objectively the score 9/10 is good, I would agree with that.
    But man! I cannot wait for you to see the MAMA performance of this.
    There is simply something really special about the 2nd generation Kpop artists!
    I can easily imagine them to comeback to the scene to have regular comebacks and not just anniversary ones!

  • @ogabrielalbar
    @ogabrielalbar Рік тому +14

    My first contact with Kara's music was their performance of this song on 2022 Mama. Youngji's smile when she sang her line before the last repetition of the last chorus (ireon move, naeui move, oh when I move) is what drove me to the group. I found out about their story (and Youngji's story) and her smile was so heartfelt and genuine that I became a Kamilia after watching many, many videos. But this was the first one and I really liked it. It is well shot, modern but with a specific group view, that is felt even for those who are first time listeners of the group. This comeback achieved everything it was supposed to do: gave a good song and good video for those who have been waiting for years, introduced the group to a legion of new fans and honored the member's journeys and memories. Kara is a legendary group and released a marvelous song and video last year, and I hope they can come back many more times in the future.

    Arguably the BEST comeback of 2022!! And their live performances of this song are ICONIC. They're really showing their talent and charm as a 2nd Gen group and showing everyone exactly why they were a leading group. Such an incredible comeback. Not a dull moment in the song/video and they look and sound AMAZING.

    PD when I heard Kara were having a comeback it awakened 2012 me who was just getting into Kpop and fell absolutely in love with these 2nd gen GGs. I'm so proud and happy for them. They weren't always with Rainbow, they used to be on DSP (back when DSP was a big deal). And, they left an album for Hara. I felt feelings about it.

    The first time I heard this song, it was through a dance cover (Weeekly's main dancer line) and I WAS CERTAIN IT WAS A 2ND GEN SONG. It's just so perfect in every way, but it wasn't until that moment that I knew it existed and I wish that everyone could listen to it and watch their MV. Kara is incredible. I'm so thankful they've decided to create such a masterpiece. I'd fallen in love with the dance, but the video feels like angels are singing in your ears and bringing you to them

    I'm shocked you've been in Korea the past few months and somehow avoided this song. My friend recently went and told me it was playing NONSTOP in every store, restaraunt, and mall. Its so classically Kara and yet feels so matured up. Fucking top tier. We were blessed in 2022 with both SNSD and Kara comebacks.

    The thing about this song that made it a instant Kara classic was the song, it has all the parts from previous Kara songs that made it so classic, it sounds like a Kara song that would have come out during there last 4/5 years as a group Especially that bridge. Also the video feels like a mix of pandora, damaged lady and Cupid all rolled into one. Also if you notice during the video there are moments that play out in the song like gyuri and seungyoon dancing in the video together representing 1st generation of Kara and the longest running members that didn't leave or change rolls in the group, then Nicole and jiyoung drinking there drink together representing when they left Kara at the same time, then my personal favourite moment together which is the jinyoung youngjin moment together representing the passing of the maknae roll and then sharing that roll moving forward. This song was a beautiful welcome back to all the girls even past member hara with her plate and mic being present through out the song. This was a comeback classic as well because it gives hope along with snsd, big bang, Tara, highlight and shinee that second generation can still get down and do what needs to be done, was the video groundbreaking no but it didn't have to be it was more for fans and if the fans enjoyed it was a success, also they released a Japanese version and promoted in Japan just like back in the days as well. To me this is a 10/10 because Kara didn't have to do all the extra stuff they stayed true to themselves and just did what needed to be done and obviously it worked out well ❤

    I'm almost exclusively a boy group stan, but the girl groups/female artists I do vibe with are mostly 2/2.5 gen - and I only got into Kpop in 2014, so I wasn't even around during their peak popularity. Both SNSD's Forever One and KARA's When I Move make me so happily nostalgic. I love to see them making music together again, knowing how hard it is to arrange so many different individual's schedules and how hard it must be to learn new choreo & do the promotion schedule now that they're older. More reunions of this era of group, please!!

    i did not grow up on kpop so i didn't know kara and other second gen groups. however since my first kpop group is snsd, i've had a intensely soft spot for second gen music. especially groups like kara, exposure to them came shortly after snsd. despite not having that initial connection during their peak, i just adore them. i feel so connected to them.

They quickly became my favorite and watched them non-stop. I can never decide if Lupin or Mister is my favorite. It is usually determined by which song I just listened to. Hey PD, kara is with dsp media and they are still under dsp. Last year RBW bought dsp and merger it with rbw. Dsp is now a subsidiary of rbw. The ceo of rbw restructured the personnel in dsp and changed up how the label did things. In fact the ceo of rbw took over running day to day at dsp and im sure that played a part on y kara reunited.

    The song is very catchy, the video serves its purpose and the artists are visually very pleasing...

    this comeback had me riding the 2nd gen wave happily it's so good. I watched all the content related to this comeback and went on a trip down memory lane watching older mvs. lupin gets me hyped as as i hear the intro! THEIR MAMA PERFORMANCE THOUGH!! (i still stand by shitty award show camera work) however the medley the performance of this song had me floating into a rainbow.
    another favourite was the dingo medley singing all the songs vocals on pointttt!!!!!

    So glad you got to this! I was immediately enamoured with the song on first listen, as well!
    The mv gave me nostalgia for their past mv's so I agree with your assessment of it.

    I get it. I want Rainbow to come back too. It was awesome to see them in the Aurora MV 3 years after they disbanded. I hope they come back together again soon. Waiting for that 9Muses comeback that WAS officially announced

    Kara is another 2nd generation kpop Group I'm sad about because I've never had the opportunity to see em perform as a group and performer's with all the members

    i never was a kpop fan when these groups where around i've only been into kpop for nearly 5 years. so I missed all these 1st, and 2nd gen groups and honestly quite a few of the 3rd gen. But honestly the past year was amazing when it came to comebacks.. not to take awa from Kara, but SNSD comeback was so nostalgic even tho I never was around when they had comebacks, Kara as well, never heard any of their songs, i knew of their existent but listening to this song just gives me nostalgia, like these 2nd gen GG's really came back after years.. and released songs that sound just like they did all those years ago, yet modern.. they feel the same rather than trying to fit into the 4th gen style. yet they are on par if not better. just the maturity and experience and nostalgia. I really wish for more older groups to make a comeback.. as well as more regular comebacks.. like i wish snsd doesnt take 5-7years again.. I wish Finkl would make a comeback just so i could experience a comeback first hand.. or after school just to name a few..
