This whole experience/introduction was impressive to say the least 🔥😎😍
It is pretty nice that KARA payed tribute and have not forgotten their fallen member Goo Hara during the beginning and ending of WHEN I MOVE mv. If you notice there are six figures on the candle and a sixth plate at the beginning and sixth mic at the end.
RIP Goo Hara KARA's eternal member and guardian angel.
I miss her...she was my bias
A little bit history of KARA:
2007 : At first, Kara debut with strong and mature concept in the agency DSP. Members were Sunghee, Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole. Their song "Break It" was not well-received by general public, also overshadowed by other girl groups (SNSD and Wonder Girls also debut in 2007). People had big expectation on them because they were from DSP. DSP was one of big agency, on the same level of SM Entertainment. DSP's previous girl group "Fin.K.L" was strong competitor of girl group "S.E.S" from SM. Both groups were strong rivals.
2008 - 2013 : Sunghee left the group in 2008. Then, Hara and Jiyoung became new members. Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Hara and Jiyoung were back with "Rock U", change concept to cute and playful. They rose in popularity with many songs. They were big in Korea and especially Japan. They are among the most successful girl groups in South Korea alongside Girls' Generation (SNSD), and Wonder Girls ~ WonKaSo : Wonder Girls, Kara, Soshi or SNSD~debut in 2007 (iirc, Kara was one of the groups who can strongly compete for album sales with these groups in the song charts). They won 1st place with many songs.
2014 : Nicole and then Jiyoung left the group in January. As trio, Gyuri, Seungyeon and Hara continued their schedules. May 2014, "Kara Project" show to find new member(s). Youngji was the winner and joined Kara. Song "Mamma Mia" with new member Youngji (Nicole and Jiyoung were not part of it anymore).
2016 : Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara left the group due to contracts expiring. Youngji as a solo artist in the company.
2019 : Hara was found dead in her home...😢
2022 : DSP agency became subsidiary to RBW (agency of Mamamoo, Purple Kiss, etc). Kara's reunion with group photoshoot in June, including members who left (Nicole and Jiyoung with Gyuri, Seungyeon, Youngji). The five of them return with new album and song "When I Move" under the agency RBW. As Kara member, Youngji never did activities with Nicole and Jiyoung, and vice versa. Jiyoung was the maknae/youngest when she left the group but lineup in 2014 has Youngji as maknae. Both of them were born in 1994 but Youngji was born in August and Jiyoung in January. As Jiyoung won't give up her title as maknae especially they were both 1994 liners, both of them became the maknaes now. Gyuri (May 1988), Seungyeon (July 1988), Nicole (Oct 1991). It's nice to see Youngji sang Kara's older songs and Nicole and Jiyoung sang "Mamma Mia" (17:10 cute how Jiyoung missed the line because she was not in the song before). I miss Hara...

Correction, you wrote that Sunghee left in 2018
Thank you for the info, I appreciate it!
@@JaeMinJung. sorry just typo~
@@janewow77 No worries ☺
@@JaeMinJung. thank you for the info~
3:38 interesting you noticed that bc Kara was extremely famous in Japan back in the day! SNSD was popular too but Kara was noted for their more ‘Jpop-sounding’ releases and their high fluency in speaking Japanese, which made them the top-selling Kpop gg in Japan for 10 years (until Twice broke the record last year). they even had an anime and J-drama centered around themselves!
I've noticed that a lot of older kpop has some Japanese roots
@@BestFriendsReact the idol concept itself originated in Japan, so there’s definitely a lot more noticeable influence with older artists! pre-2010s Korean music in general was influenced a lot by Japanese music trends, like the trot genre borrowing elements from Japanese enka
It's funny how things change over time, kpop used to sound like other genres, now other genres are trying to sound like kpop lol
Kara is the first Korean girl group has performed in Japan Tokyo Dome. That’s it.
Not just it, first overseas female act to hit number one in the japanese music market - I remember oricon making a big deal that a s.korean act got one number one in their charts
Only one word to describe this performance: TIMELESS
One of the top 2nd generation kpop girl groups...they are legends🥺🥺
Haha seungyeon is 34, so in 2008 she was about 20 hehe
Gyuri is channeling her goddess persona again but she’s so freaking weird lol I love them sm
KARA is hands down the best Kpop group to come out and no one is going to change my mind! Hahahaha. No but seriously, they are the best and I couldn't believe they made this comeback after 7+ years! They were hugely popular back in the day and they were the absolute Queen of Queens in Japan and they couldn't get enough of KARA. Even though they were a global superstars, Japan simply catapulted their career/fame/popularity to the next level!
KARA is so precious. They're contemporaries with Girls' Generation and Wonder Girls, they all debuted in 2007.
One girl is missing Go Hara who unfortunately took her life a few yrs ago. All the girls there have always been in the group. There comeback is so awesome. So happy to see them back !
Members from left to right:
Jiyoung - Lead Rapper, Vocalist, Visual
Seungyeon - Main Vocalist
Gyuri - Leader, Lead Vocalist, Visual
Nicole - Main Dancer, Main Rapper, Vocalist
Youngji - Maknae, Lead Rapper, Lead Dancer, Vocalist
Eternal Member:
Goo Hara - Main Dancer, Vocalist, Visual, Face of the Group
Former Member:
Sunghee - Main Vocalist (she left after their debut)
So they started as a 7 person group?
@@BestFriendsReactoriginal 4 members but Sunghee left, add another 2 members Hara and Jiyoung then in 2012 if not mistaken Nicole and Jiyoung left the group and lastly Youngji were added through a reality show where they looking for a member to be add into the group..pls correct me if m wrong..
@@cikonazrey2407 Seunghee left in 2008 late 2007 ish. Jiyoung and Nicole left in early 2014. Youngji was added later in 2014 through a survival show
@@Rahaf-pv8fb tq 😊
@@BestFriendsReact for a visual, there's a timeline graph on their wikipedia page
When 'Mister' was released, that was THE THING in Japan ! And for years !!
The song you thought you heard before is Mister. You did hear it during their MAMA medley but I'm sure you have also seen it elsewhere, probably covers of it.
I wish Dingo did more Killing Voice for older groups have comebacks after a longtime, like SNSD earlier this year and T-Ara last year. There is something great about these groups getting together and singing their old songs.
I was thoroughly impressed with this group, the songs were fun and diverse, they seem talented and happy together.
I agree with you on the dingo thing, but it seems like they are starting to do more for comebacks like this.. exid, big mama and Taeyeon
They're celebrating their 15th anniversary this yeat with "WHEN I MOVE" and I'm obsessed! They had their comeback stage on MAMA in Japan, how iconic!
I hope you can react to "Mamma Mia".
I'm loving their new song, I'm an instant fan
RBW recently bought DSP Media which is KARA's original company which is why they're under RBW now. RBW is a fairly new company and their very first idol group is MAMAMOO.
Oh right on, thank you
A kiss to the sky for Goo Hara. who will always be in our hearts and minds 🖤🤍💮
Park Gyuri, the one in the centre who you thought was aloof and serious is actually the biggest crackhead in the group.
That's what I figured lol, it's my luck, the first time I see her is when she is being serious lol
Kara is soooo famous in Japan
Mister was a b-side! But was so popular it became their breakout song, making it as their debut single in Japan.
과거 한국 유명 걸그룹으로 명곡이 많기로 유명한 그룹임 지금도 찾아 듣는 매니아들이 있는걸로 암
I'm sure some hardcore Stan's gave you some info on their history but yeah this reunion/comeback means the world to me because they were my first kpop group, my friend showed me their songs Wanna (which sadly they didn't sing) and Honey and fell in love. So I'm just sobbing at all the content, they went on MMTG and seeing them chat and such was so sweet, and playfulling ribbing at Youngji because she made comments on older songs even though she wasn't in the group at the time, it was so cute 😭 I'm sure Hara is happy too, she always said she wanted to gather all 6 of them for a drink and such 🍻
Some fun facts, Mister is their most popular song BUT it was a b-sides, they were promoting Wanna the lead single but fans loved the choreo from Mister so much that it blew up, a rare occurrence in kpop. You mentioned they had a jpop sound which is funny because they are arguably one of the most popular kpop groups to go over to Japan, they have several number 1 hits and they even actually released more full length albums in Japan than they did in Korea. Also with their leader Gyuri, all idols have nicknames like Momo is dance machine etc, she was the goddess of kpop because of her visuals also her personality, like she knew she was pretty and wasn't afraid to say it which was like unheard of in 2008 era of kpop, like idols are usually humble but she was always blunt/savage and just knew she was pretty etc, she paved the way for self love 💕
They were also one of the few kpop groups that attempted to take action against their company because of not getting properly paid back in 2010/2011, they ended up dropping it but it definitely hurt their relationship with their company, Nicole and Jiyoung did leave the group but they only wanted a break not to leave and get replaced but DSP didn't care 👀 but I'm glad they're back. KARA was definitely up there in the best dance girl groups of their era for sure! Also Nicole had a solo comeback a few months ago with YOU.F.O, a fun little dance track, Jiyoung released a cool vibe song Lucid dream early in the year too, sadly Gyuri, Seungyeon and Youngji have the actress bug 😔 we don't want dramas we want music ladies.
I can't express how impressed I am with them, I like that they seem like individuals with distinct sounds and personalities. Gyuri seemed like a goddess there, so I understand lol...
I've listened to a bunch of Japanese music over the years and starting to catch up with Korean, I think modern of each sound nothing alike, the farther you go back in time the closer they get it seems.
I showed them to another friend and he told me about them being actresses, he didn't know they were kpop stars, and I didn't know they were actresses, so we both learned something... I think I'm going to watch a movie they recommended called Show Me the Ghost with SeungYeon when I get a chance, it looks funny.
It sucks they had all that drama and hardships, but now they seem happy and doing well, so in a weird way it seemed to work out for them.. I know of at least 3 new fans they have now lol
Thnk u sooooooo much to support KARA in this comeback;; my kamilia heart is so happy for this♥♥
I'm an instant fan, I even got another friend from work into them... I'm trying to do my part in supporting them!!🤣
KARA is the Queen of Japan, almost all Japan people know their song~~
funny you say jap music feel because they were more popular in Japan during their active days. Well now you definitely have to watch IU's Palatte episode with Kara.
The best girl group ever
KARA's voices and vocals are great 😊
Seungyeons vocals omg ❤
KARA debuted in 2007 with "Break It" as a four-member group. Sadly, one member retired completely from the industry. They returned in 2008 with 2 new members and a new image with "Rock U". They never returned to their original image I would say.
They were in DSP media during their active period. If you notice at the beginning of the MV there was a extra plate on the table also there were 6 mics at the end of the MV, the extra plate and mic are for the late member HARA
I almost cried when I saw the mics at the end of the MV TT
Goddess Gyuri is aloof hahaha. She is too good for us mere mortals...
The one you said was your favourite Seungyeo, you were right about her being the main vocalist. The one you said was a bit aloof is Gyuri she’s the leader. And the one the other guy likes is Jiyoung
They debut in 2007
all their song is catchy af
I strongly suggest you guys react to Kara’s happy new year concert held in Tokyo Dome in 2013.
You will enjoy these songs more if you watch the actual MV and Live Performances of this songs. You'll see how big they are back then
One of my favorite groups 💖
Im glad kara is back and getting some attention they deserve! After all those things theyve gone through, i wish their happiness😊
Hope u guys can check out their other songs or old mvs too, cuz they were killing the early 2010s.
Koreans called WonKaSo as the Queens of Kpop that time, with Wonder girls, Kara and SNSD (Girls Generation), glad 2 of them came back this yr
8:25 yeah they do! which is crazy to me bc nicole (pink shirt) left the group before youngji joined (far right), so they never really promoted together 😂
It's cool they still seem that close
KARA's MISTER brought me to kpop
To me, KARA and EXID have their unique sound, few groups have that tbh
If you watch their original perform, you can totally understand what is their move in this live 😄 .
And if you were a Korean teenager with Kara's era, you could not never know their songs.
I think that's awesome to see things like that, some things are a staple of their era
😭😭😭thank you
Please also react to Kara at IU pallate and MMTG show
Thank you 🙏💗
I feel old...my first song of KARA was Honey and I can't believe it was released on 2009...
Hara. Miss her so much, May she keep rest in peace 😢
At 3:02 thats seungyeon. She is 34 now.
I hope this two guess esteem KARA performnce
KARA's original label is DSP media which was later on acquired by RBW. This is why RBW logo is showing at the end
I miss 2nd gen era... back then, every group has their own style. so you wont get a same concept or beat on different group. even if they go with sexy concept, it wont be the same as other.
It's easy to understand if you think 'Kara' was similar to 'TWICE' in the past. In their heyday, they topped the list in Korea and Japan.
역시 케이팝은 제이팝하고 레벨차원이 달라요.환쾌한 음악 잘 감상했습니다.더 멋있고 아름다운 음악 들려주세요.화이팅!!!
Nickelodeon vibes😁😁
Kara...♥️ Reaksiyon için teşekkürler...
Do you guys have reactions to Infinite & BTOB’s killing voices?
We have one for btob, not infinite yet

구하라가 아쉽네요.....ㅠㅠ
actually they were big in japan so you get it saying "japanese ggs vibes" 💕
Kara=Korean, Producer=Korean, Main activity=Korea Japanese stop hoaxing😅 That songs were not influenced by Japan.
never put Korean things with japanese things in one room. especially in the Kpop reaction vid. cause bad luck is coming to your channel.
