make sure you use a small amount of the cleaning stuff you do end up using in a tiny area before you do the entire suit because you can ruin fabric if it has a bad reaction or if the fur colours ends up running! i use the most gentle detergent possible for my suit.
same thing id imagine, since the fur on the paws would be from the same material as the rest of the suit as for the pads on the paws or the feet it would depend on what material your suit is made of@@T045ty
Funk Away detergent booster is great too! It breaks down odor molecules, and is good at lifting organic particles out of fabrics. Definitely swatch test first though!
Just pure rubbing alcohol CHECK with your maker to make sure the suit is fine with it, some airbrush might run with alcohol Put the suit on when you're clean/recently showered, only use clean undergarments, and immediately spray with alcohol and fan dry thoroughly after wearing. Seriously, make sure it's DRY when you pack it away. Alcohol kills the germs in sweat and prevents stink in the first place. Helps a lot if you can only launder your rugs once every couple months.
To play devils advocate Fabreeze has a antibacterial disinfectant spray that works well. Of course using the regular stuff is like putting a car freshener around your neck and saying clean lol
Lots of people forget that eliminating smells and cleaning something are not the same thing. You can only do the former for so long before gunk builds up.
Can you make a video on how to wash a fursuit head (maybe what's acceptable for different types of heads)? I've seen a lot of comments where they state 'oh I just use fursuit spray' and I'm like... uhh, doesn't it need a deeper thorough clean somehow?

💜❤️🩹 Spot clean the exterior using a mixture of baking soda and water: create a thin paste, apply to soiled fur, and massage in gently. Leave in however long you want - you can remove it with a wet cloth, or let it dry and simply brush out. Brush lightly using a slicker brush or flea comb, following the grain of the fur.
Just wondering if you would have any idea, what about a raptor mask? I’m planning on making one sometime soon and am not sure how often to clean it or if I should use anything different. Love your vids, Zee!
Clean it the same timeframes, before and after use, though if you paint the face use a gentle cloth to scrub/wipe the face and fur, if you're furring the mask part, you'll also scrub it with a cloth and detergent and cold water. Make sure the eye paint is sealed though, and a tip is to put paper Towels over/inside the fursuit eyes
i have a weird fursona basically its a have black dragon half marbled fox and i cant get a fursuit of it for to big reason i cant draw and no money cause i got no job because i choose to focus on school then on a job btw im 18 still in highschool
me actually 😂 it was suggested to me in ye olden days of cosplay for articles of clothing you couldn't fully wash. annnnd unfortunately i did spray zee with it when i first got her. if i can make the mistake, other people definitely have too 😅
I just recently got a realistic fursuit and I don’t really enjoy the smell of it, from some other country like smell. And I don’t have a fursuit spray, so what can I use?
partly incorrect. This depends on the version of Fabreeze. Yes all of them use beta cyclodextrin but the majority of them do have ethyl alcohol and they do disinfect. The part about it being a bomb when you sweat is incorrect as well. It doesn't work that way.
you can also de-odorize with vodka or other pure alcohol! its a tip from theatre costuming. the alcohol spray kills bacteria that makes the smell worse
A lot of stage costumes we use 1 part vodka and 1 part water to do a quick sanitize if we’re short on time or even just have something that’s difficult to cleam

Even worse: never use garlic powder to try and clean your fursuit
......... oh no
Wait your not meant to do that?
😑😅
Wait...what...? did...someone try that..?
Did someone do this?? Are they mentally stable??
I suggest using a swatch (if you have one) of your fur before cleaning to see if the colors will fade or if they can’t be dried so easily!
good advice!

Saving this for when I have the funds for a partial 😎
AYO! Hope you got that partial, my birthday is in a month and I can legally get a job soon, gonna save up to get the materials for a partial!
My mom used to spray her hair with febreeze 😅

Hi local musical theatre kid, I know a lot of costumers use a vodka water mix in a spray bottle
This is so helpful :D
I bought a LittleGreen to clean my suit, helps a ton

Agreed my friend did that and they went to hospital :/
Using Febreese as Fursuit Spray honestly sounds like something I’d do
Someone was selling their homemade fursuit spray at the last con I went to which was awesome. It smelled good and didn't trigger my asthma.
Just a question: what do you do if you have to go to the bathroom at a convention?
Take it off ig? It would be hard taking your whole suit off before going to the toilet but ig its like when u have to go to the toilet in a swim suit

Wait hold on what happened if you get a stain on your fur suit?
every suit is different but you'd just wash it off. Each suit though may require a different way of cleaning :D
@@aspen- oh I thought it was done for
Wait can you put your suit in the washing machine and dry it in the dryer or not
Alright, that settles it, fursuits must be wearable carpets.
