My mum never checked my history and respected my privacy as a kid. I'm 18 now and am relieved at how lucky I was after reading some of these comments about intrusive parents. I didn't really look at bad stuff a lot, aside from a few 18+ experiences, but if my mother was as bad as these comments imply, I'd be terrified.
My parents were too confused at technology so they never bothered trying. But man did they blame me for every issue we had on the computer or with the cables cos i was 'part' of using it... And how they change from trusting me with a laptop they bought for me to not trusting and taking it away the next day cos i had failed a class...

I learned about the birds and bees while going to a camp. An older kid told me and my friends that (at 10? years old) we were "too old to not know." After he finished, we laughed because it was such a gross and bizarre act that he described, so we thought he just made it up. While we were giggling one of my friends pulled out his iPad to fact check. His smile vanished, eyes went wide and distant. Our hearts fell into our stomachs at the sight of his reaction. Another older kid just looked us dead in our panicked eyes and nodded slowly. We just sat in absolute silence for the remaining 2 hours of our trip to the campsite.
