Flight Over Denali National Park

- In this video, you’ll see some unbelievable views from our flight over Denali National Park.
If you watch this video, you’ll join us for a flight over a completely cloudless Denali. You’ll see the glaciers, mountains, and snowcapped peaks, not to mention the tundra, Denali Park Road, and so much more that make this one of the most remarkable flights around.
Kantishna Air Taxi offers visitors to the remote Denali National Park the opportunity to take a so-called “Flightseeing” trip around the area to gain a new perspective on Denali National Park. But we booked a flight with them as a means to avoid the six-and-a-half hour bus ride out.
We’d planned to fly from Kantishna, at the very back of Denali National Park out to the entrance. It was scheduled to be about 35 minutes, but the weather on our departure day was beyond perfect. And our pilot offered a thrilling ride up to the very edge of Denali’s 20,000+ feet.

I’ve heard stories about the legendary Alaskan wind sock. It’s a miracle you both survived.
I used to be a flight attendant for BA, and back in 2017, on a flight from YVR-LHR, I experienced the Northern Lights as I was serving the pilots their meals. Without doubt the single greatest thing I’ve seen from a plane
You asked us to share one of our greatest moments . A great moment I had was when we took a flight seeing adventure on a trip in Alaska.
Our flight left from Talkeetna and our flight adventure took us around and up near the summit of Denali Mountain itself. We had made it to the top of Denali (20,310 ft.) and we were circling near one of the summits, as we flew by I saw something that I wasn't quite sure what it was. I looked closer as we flew by and to my amazement, there was a person sitting on the edge of a glacier. They were wearing a blue outfit that stuck out very well being in an area that was nothing but white snow & ice, with thousands of feet below him if he was to fall.
I will remember that moment for the rest of my life.
the most remarkable thing i have seen is other planes flying below or above you. thats the coolest thing to see.
Wow! Absolutely phenomenal!! Denali is 20,000 feet and you were flying at 10,000! Wow that pilot was great! Loved it Jen and Suzanne!❤️😀
Best thing I have seen from a plane is a WONDERFUL sunset
I don't like this video, I loved it.
As you said How incredible our planet is. You are showing this to the whole world with the clarity of visuals and intensity of voice. I am watching this from the other half of the world.
Stunning, stunning work from Jeb and Suzanne. My most memorable view? Seeing the coast of Ireland on my first transatlantic flight when I was 15. I knew right then there would be many more flights in my life.
The best view I have ever seen is the barrier lakes in a seaplane, then going around at KPHX, and every approach into MSP
Going around at PHX is kinda fun. Once on a flight back from SEA, there was a microburst over the airport, so we ended up going around twice.
Great video! Did the air tour to Denali and a glacier landing the end of May, ‘23. It was a blue sky, cloudless day. There’s nothing like it. Truly our most memorable view and a reminder that there are things larger than ourselves. It is good to be reminded of that now and then.
Hey, Jeb! What a flight, I could feel your excitament with the experience. Some nice flights with extraordinary views I've flow were the helicopter tour over the Cristo (at Rio de Janeiro), over the Iguaçu Falls (at Brazil/Argetina border), the approache over the Andes, when you fly to Santiago (arriving from the east). The plane flights right over the Aconcágua Mountain. And also the flights between Europe and Beijing, passing over the Altai Mountains and the Gobi Desert!
Love the mosquito net in gour head what an introduction. Love the bloopers too before the video ends
Your narration, amazing photography and pacing make these videos hard to put down! Great job.
Spectacular…..You had a beautiful day for that flight. Having lived in Fairbanks for 37 years, I can attest to your pilot’s comment.
4:40 Love the abrupt change from flat tundra to mountain range.
Mount McKinley is very nice. Thanks for sharing.
That flight was epic, despite having been to Alaska I have never been to Denali even though my brother-in-law used to be a pilot there. For best views, there are actually two that come to mind. One was flying Horizon Airlines (Alaska) in a Fokker F27 from Seattle to Spokane and having dinner (yes dinner on a turboprop in the mid-1990's) and traveling over the Cascade Mountains, dinner, and a view (including a forest fire). The other was back in 2016 flying an Alaska red-eye from Seattle to Detroit and over the mid west seeing lighting storm after lighting storm light up the sky below us.
My most amazing day of flying was 25-years ago in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica. Flying ashore onboard a MI-2 Russian helicopter off a Russian Icebreaker into the US base. Considering a decade prior to that they might have taken a shot at us, but later in this cloudless day I chartered one of the 2 helicopters onboard and flew across McMurdo's 'ice filled' Sound to the Dry Valleys - extraordinary geological formations where the air is crystal clear and the surrounding mountains looked like layer cake. We landed high up on a ridge overlooking one of the driest parts of our planet on a pad that might have never been walked on before by anyone. The view was mind-boggling to say the least and the lack of any sounds even more so ...
I actually did basically the same flight but through a different company on July 30th. Went through Denali Air, flew around the peak. Best flight I've ever been on hands down.
This is incredibly beautiful, Jeb! Must have seen 20+ of your work - train and sky - and this is the absolute best. Thanks for sharing this.
Wow what beautiful scenery!
Simply beautiful- thanks.
I visited Yosemite National Park and the Yosemite Valley in July of 2021 with family, and as we were flying back to ATL, I saw the Yosemite Valley from the air. It was a beautiful sight.
Thanks Jeb. What a day. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing the experience.
an experience of a lifetime
Simply breathtaking!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Absolutely amazing!
Absolutely beautiful video. Thanks for sharing.
Your photography was beautiful. My most amazing sight from the air was on a commercial flight from Las Vegas to Seattle on May 18, 1980. We flew about 20 miles west of Mt. Saint Helen's while she was erupting. The plumb of spewing ash went up to 40,000 ft. The sky east of their was pure black from all the ash.
As amazing as this video is the bloopers are my favourite part. This has been a fantastic series great job Jeb and Suzanne!
Stunning snow-capped peaks and a heavenly look.Incredibly impressive.
This has got to be my favorite video that you have done, those view are breath taking. Thank you for sharing!!
Just WOW is ALL I can say!!
Fantastic video Jeb, I hope Travel Alaska thanks you for all the extra tourists your bringing over!
Flying over Greenland was amazing, but nothing like this flight. Beautiful!
Remarkable and beautiful Mt. Denali is. Thank you for capturing this amazing wonder.
Beautiful & stunning views of Denali. Thank you. My most memorable views from the air, Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta and wildlife, both in Africa
On my trip back from ATL to DEN, we all saw a huge lighting show from above! Coolest thing I've ever seen from the air!
My best view ive ever seen from a plane was ironically going over Alaska when i was a kid flying to Seoul from Portland. I was too young to know if I saw Denali or not but I remember looking at the flight path screen as we flew over. The mountain range there and all the snow i could see for miles and miles is an image ill never forget.
I hope you show us more of your videos of inside the park! Beautiful!
The comment about being able to reach out and grab the snow off the mountains is so true! I recently had the chance to fly my first inaugural flight, Harbour Air’s new route from Kelowna to Vancouver. It was my first time on a seaplane and first time flying something so small. Keeping below 10 thousand feet makes for some stunning views when you have to pass through the mountains!
Thank you for sharing The Denali National Park flight, it was stunning.
I had the pleasure to live in Anchorage for 25 years. Took many trips up to Denali and into the Park. Flew a few times from Talkeetna to the base camp and walked around an talked with several climbers. You were extremely lucky to have the weather you did. Thanks for the memories!! 😀👍🏻❤️
Very nice! The first word I thought of when I saw the views was WOW.
Alaska is absolutely extraordinary. Plate tectonics at it's absolute best.
Humans are so puny in comparison.
Just beautiful, thanks for the video ride.
One of my absolute dream destinations!!! Wonderful, Jeb!
I was fortunate to do this flight, departing from Talkeetna, back in January. Like you, I had a completely clear day. I think seeing Denali from the air is my most memorable moment on a small airplane! Truly spectacular and beautiful.
The most remarkable thing is looking down on sweet earth.
Wow the view is so beautiful!
Breathtaking footage
Everyone who likes this comment is one vote that Jeb should learn to fly.
Truly breathtakingly awesome magnificence!!! Great video! Great narration!
Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
What an amazing video Jeb, stunning views
Wow. Thank you
for me, Flyinging over the Canadian Rocky Mountain's. Always takes my breath away. Also. flying from Vancouver to Campbell River in 2015. Some of the most beautiful ocean scenery I've ever seen from the air.
Wow, the views are just spectacular!!! Worthy of many likes!!
Best aerial view of Denali..
Excellent video!!!
That's awesome!!!
The best view is the approach into BZN. It’s the best if coming from the south but it’s beautiful all around.
Just flew into BZN last month and the views was stunning!
Wunderful!
Thank you for sharing your video with us.
Good one Jeb. Thanks for sharing that incredible flight.
For me, it is mesmerizing flying over Greenland, especially with a full moon
Seeing the Grand Canyon and flying over the Alps were fantastic experiences.
Just... WOW 😮🤩
I love the new videos coming out on your channel
Wow!! What a video, amazing footage what a trip! Two incredible things for my own personal flights were incredible views of the Northern Lights and a meteor coming down in the Montreal area both on transatlantic flights.
Amazingly beautiful thank you so very much ❤️
I took off and landed on an Aircraft Carrier while in the Navy. What a rush going down that catapult!!!
The wilderness impression for the windsock is awesome
The most spectacular views I’ve ever experienced from the air was flying down the spine of Kodiak Island in a float plane. It was most amazing scenery I’ve ever seen. It was a clear day like it was in this video so I got extremely lucky. Seeing the spine of Kodiak island from the air is somewhat rare because the weather is often cloudy in the interior of the island.
Excellent view of the Denali. When the people climb the Denali at North America express the same than climb Andes mountains at South America like Aconcagua, Mercedario, Ojos del Salado, Llullaillaco
Amazing! We just got back from Alaska a week ago. On a commercial flight from Fairbanks to Anchorage we had similar weather. The pilot put us at around 20k and flew us down in between Denali and Foracker. Incredible views.
Seeing Mount Hood on a clear day flying into Portland was pretty neat. Flying into or away from Salt Lake City is pretty good too.
I love the blooper where you point to the yellow road sign 🤣
Truly spectacular scenery...... but I don't think I could handle such a small plane, even though it's perfect for there conditions
Amazing. You guys got lucky.
I think flying over Naples Italy at 5,000 to 10,000 feet would give a great view with the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius on one side and the city of Naples climbing the hill on the other side. The Bay of Naples has been called one of the great sites in the world. I have been there but haven't flown over it.
Jeb another fantastic vlog !
Hi Jeb. Fantastic video, and views to die for - sounds like you really struck it lucky with the weather that day. I think we've got some stunning scenery here in Scotland (Cairngorms; Ben Nevis etc), but those were breathtaking views of the snow covered mountains. Awesome.
Wow!
Great adventure!
Wow, what a flight, that looked amazing Jeb. You should fear the Alaskan wind sock!😹
Been to Waikiki a few times, but never as luxurious a trip as your taking!!
Stunning views! This would be one of those times I'd love to see the unedited footage.
What a great video and great videography and stunning views...no better way than to fly in single engine cessna.. my first flight was on a single engine plane my dads class mate is a retired pilot and my best view from the skys was on commercial flight from Birmingham ,AL to SEATAC and seeing Mount Rainer and it was evening it was very cool
Alaska is now on my bucket list.
I know I'm repeating myself here... first of all, what a fantastic video. Now, to repeat myself, Jeb... you really should be a narrator for a nature channel, or travel channel (well, in that case you are) - but on some major network. Your voice is perfect for it, your intonation and emotions is perfect for it... that's my opinion anyway. I could watch probably almost any video that is narrated by you. Also, definitely include your wife! She's quite an addition to the team, if not the leader (I don't know that, but you do!). This was really great.
You had an amazing experience! When we were lucky to have an unimpeded view of the mountain, we were told fewer than 30% of visitors to Denali have such a view. But I think it might be more common. I haven't talked to anyone who has been there and not had a clear view. Regardless, the entire of Denali Park is amazing!
I went 2 summers ago for 4 days and none of the days I could even see a spec of it😂😞
Magnificent! That's all I can say.
We were in a bush plane coming back from bus trip into Denali, when our pilot took us over the mud flats and luckily we saw a pod of Beluga whales. Icing on the flight with all those beautiful mountains and glaciers!
I’m 12 years old, love flying, and take flight lessons on a Cessna 152, 172!!!!
Great video Glad you had a nice day. I always love looking at the mountain. Our cabin is about 60 miles from there and there is a hill a few thousand feet from here that has spectacular views on nice days. I have been on a 737 returning from Deadhorse and we did a circle of the summit and we could even see climbers.
Thanks for the link jeb... Hopefully see you on the rails (perth, western Australia) and yes I have been on the Indian pacific
Jeb Brooks, yes, this planet is beautiful, but even more so is the incredible variety in the nation of our own USA.
Next time your in Alaska it would be awesome to meet you! Absolutely love your channel!
You asked for our most memorable moments? Mine was seeing Table Mountain, Cape Town from a Cessna 172 at 10,000ft. The mountain is really that flat on top as well!
Hey Jeb, did you use your priority lounge pass at Kantishna International Airport ?
The most remarkable thing Ive seen from the sky is Mount Kilimanjaro, a few days after I summited it. The pilot of our Ethiopian Airlines 777 got special permission to circle her once, so all the climbers on board could get a 360 degree view of the mountain. This was back in 2007.
Iceland going from JFK to Heathrow with my Mom in 1969, I was 15. We were going to Malta to live while my Dad worked in the oilfields in Libya!
