- A live drum cam of the song Libera from the Wintersun + Ne Obliviscaris North American tour 2018. A big thank you to Pete Webber from Havok, Lilli and Sick Drummer magazine for making this video for me.
On this tour I had a lovely Pearl Masters birch kit, with my Pearl Reference brass 14x6.5 snare. Zildjian cymbals, Footblaster pedal trigger, Czarcie Kopyto pedals, Vic Firth drum sticks, Remo Emperor tom heads, Emperor X coated snare head.

After watching this and other vids from sickdrummermag the one thing I am left with is the notion of how CREATIVE a drummer Dan is. Stamina and power, yes; but the creativity is undeniable. Awesome playing ! That alternating gravity blast is amazing . I dont see too much drummers do that except Archspire. It's great to see this. I love the dynamics and control of the drummer , rolls fills etc . It's not just blasting to prove how fast someone can play, its thought out and precise . 🤘👍✌

Saw NeO live. Think they played about an hour long set. To have the stamina to keep up the double kicks going is no joke.

Between @1:36 and around 1:46-48 is it sounds like not only is he blasting the left hand but each time he accents the high hat during this time it sounds like he does either a quick gravity roll or just a stick bounce but it really adds flavor to the blast with a tiny roll. Am I the only one hearing this? I'll try to clarify if you count 6 during that time it seems to happen around the 6 or 7th count I have no formal training so I'm not sure how to count it.

A world-class drummer and only 2K views. Must be depressing and eye-opening to see very little recognition after inhuman effort and dedication. Only shows how pointless life is.
Maybe recognition isn't a goal one should pursue ? Living the kind of experiences he probably lived, sharing stuff with passionate people, brightening people lives with what you create, touring worldwide, train to master a skill you enjoy, and overall be happy to live all that sounds better than seeking recognition :D (because life probably is pointless anyway, why not try to enjoy it :) )

Only a minute and a half in and it feels like this guy is drumming to some other song. It feels like he just plays whatever he wants regardless of what the other musicians are playing.
I don't know what you're talking about. He plays exactly like he did on the album.
Sounds to me that prog metal isn't going to be your thing if your ear can't pick up how his drumming is on point with the song.
