Newberry, SC's town center is very nice and really interesting. It is a beautiful place that is well laid out and maintains many 19th & early 20th century colorful historic buildings with impeccable architecture. The place has history everywhere, has a good feel, and is very clean. I really enjoyed this walk/talk tour of Newberry, SC, Timothy! GOD bless!

Newberry is, despite what some folks might think, world famous. Just not for anything, or person, most folks might think. How many of my fellow old, tired, and retired LEOs recall the trips we made to Newberry for forensic autopsies. The Good Doctor was world renowned and trained many of the current Forensic Pathologists currently teaching or serving in this country and abroad. His legend lives on in Columbia and Charleston in particular.

Newberry, like Wahalla, was once known as the place you could end up "cut long, deep, wide, and continuously" if you crossed the wrong person.... Especially on Friday and Saturday nights if you were inclined to frequenting the juke joints that were well off the main roads. Hawk bill knives were big sellers back then if you know what I mean.

I've been to Newberry at least a couple of times. I first heard of Newberry from one of those "murder" TV shows where maybe the wife is having an affair and has her husband killed. I don't recall the exact details, but someone had been killed in Newberry and they had made a TV episode about it. *But then sometime later, I found that one of the guys I worked with in NC, said his dad and I think stepmom lived in Newberry.
Sounds like Matlock episode 🚔
