I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for...
We live in NY and im so done with the cold & snow! My husband is about to retire, I’m very interested in johnsonville and Pamplico but I want to know how far away are stores like Home Depot, TJ Maxx, grocery stores etc. I haven’t found this info on any other channels. I want to see what the towns look like. TY! 😊 visiting SC this summer.
Both towns are about 30 mins to Home Depot and TJ Maxx. They both do have big box grocery stores as well as local stores as well. They are nice towns that are not too expensive.
I know Johnsonville very well, my daughter grew up there. There is absolutely nothing and I mean nothing there, oh apart from the drug problem and a Piggly Wiggly. If you're looking to retire there, don't. Also good luck if you have a medical emergency, the nearest hospital is at least 35 to 45 minutes away.
@@Holyheart1 Taylors is just a suburb north of Greenville. It all depends what you want. Low traffic, low cost, tranquil life in the upstate, look at areas around Oconee and Pickens counties.
Rich, with the exception of Bluffton all others are inland towns, so there could be some flooding during a major event and there is always localized flooding. But if ypu are looking to stay flood prone areas, cross Bluffton off your list
For homes on the coast, 500k is some of the least expensive. The median price S.C. home sold for in Feb. 2024 was $361,800. So living on the coast is for that price is not too bad.
My daughter and husband live in Dorchester, SC. They found an all brick 2 story home on 3 acres in a nice neighborhood for less then 250,000. It was built in the 80s, but they did get a good deal. It's a large house.
please stop advertising our State.....we have enough from the outside coming in....(just kidding)....love my State!...my grandparents lived in Woodruff ...so weird now, many years later to see Woodruff considered a place for people to retire from other states.
Our daughter lives in Dorchester, SC.
Great place
Moved from NJ to Charleston in 2018. Ready to move back. Way over crowded!!
Please do.
Thanks Keith for a great summary! Rich
Thank you Rich!
I’m retiring in rural Arkansas with the hills, trees, lakes, golf courses, etc.

Both of these towns are in Florence County and these are great little towns to live in. 30 mins from Florence and 30 mins from the Beach

Please make a special video about my lovely city North Augusta SC
As a SC native don’t come.
Aww...come on
Great video but why so much usage of masked covidians? An agenda makes one wonder about other information presented
Many at risk folks and medical professionals still wear them. This video is an accurate depiction of life today.

Lol, I never wore the ubiquitous face diaper. Yes, a lot of people still holding on to the big lie.
@@WakieUppieYall Yep! Same here. hard to believe some are still desperate to keep the covd dream alive LOL
@@WakieUppieYall I do see older, frail looking folks still wearing them
Aiken SC you LEFT that off the list
How about Taylor’s or towns around there any thoughts?

Keith Do any of these towns have ZERO HISTORY of flooding? From NJ and after Hurricane Sandy it is a top of mind worry. Rich

LMAO.. you think 500k for a house is AFFORDABLE????

@@sharoncrawford7192 That sounds awesome and Dorchester Co. is a great place with many super nice towns.
Oh my lord, his pronunciation of Pamplico is so sad. He's obviously not closely familiar with SC lol
Lol....Nice catch....but it's an old coaches trick to see who is actually paying attention
Even Upstaters knew that
