Gears and Cockpit come from New Homestead (Titan). Landing Bay and Engines comes from Neon (Volii). I got all the habs at Demos. Weapons , Cargo, and Docker all came from New Atlantis (Jemison). If you have an outpost a lot of this stuff is probably available there.
Last Question: You mentioned in a previous video that you were prior Military? I am a Veteran of the Vietnam era U.S. Army, MOS 11B2P Infantry Paratrooper; later Special Forces in my Reserve tour of duty; then back to the 82nd Airborne Division for my second active duty tour. Since we are kindred spirits in Starfield regarding ship building at least, would you mind relating your Military background. I am just curious, I don’t mean to pry, respectfully.
Air Force here! Served from 1998 - 2002 as an F-16 Crew Chief. Then went got accepted into Officer Training School and became a 13S Missileer from 2002-2007. If you have ever seen any movie where the president says 'Launch the Nukes' and it cuts away to two guys in a silo turning their keys...I was one of those guys. Aim High!
Both cool Air Force MOSs! Well I did 2 years in the Air Force Reserve also as an Air Cargo Special in an Aero Port Squadron. But, nothing beat my experience of jumping out the Air Forces perfectly good airplanes midair as a Paratrooper! Lol Did you ever get to catch a back seat ride in a fighter? I know that the F16 is a single seater but perhaps you hitched a ride on another type of fighter aircraft?
Question Sir: why do you put 3 bars on your grav drive in your videos when you only actually really need 1? Also why power up the engines with all the bars filled (most people usually run with only 5-6 bars filled) at the expense of under powering all of your weapons?
The engines have to be fully powered to operate at maximum speed. Same with the shields. Weapons are a bit different; the amount of power only affects how fast they will recharge. So even with only a single bar in each weapon group they will still do full damage. However once the weapon energy banks are depleted they will charge back to full at a speed determined by how many bars of energy you have allocated to each weapon group. So this is how I distribute my power. Full Shields, full engines, and at at least one bar in the grav drive for a quick getaway if needed. This is where things get weird...I sometimes have issues with, ahem, minor OCD where I want all the weapons to have the same power available to each group. So in the case of this ship you can see if I put one bar in the grav drive that would have only left two bars left for three weapons groups. So in order to appease the OCD gods I just put all three points in the grav drive so I can keep the weapons balanced! It also explains why I'm so obsessed with symmetry on all my ship builds. I go through great lengths to ensure that both sides of the ship are identical.
So since ship engines are indeed backwards compatible from the higher class reactors, why didn’t you place the (6) class A SA-4330 Engines instead of the (4) SAE-5660 Engines for the Queen B build? Is it because the class A engines could not push the higher mass of this build. I mean those (6) class A engines would of given you the higher base cruising speed of 150 and may possibly have esthetically looked better too!
Good question. Let's do the math... Four Class-B SAE-5660 (at three power each) gives 97,200 engine thrust and 22,200 maneuvering thrust Six Class-A SA 4330 (at 2 power each) give 91,440 engine thrust and 17,580 So as you can see even with two less engines the class-b SAE-5660's produce slightly more thrust. Now I could have slightly reduced the cargo capacity and installed the Class-A engines to get the extra speed but here is why I didn't. Having two less engines has the benefit of freeing up 2 slots that can be used for other components. So on my class a Snapdragon build I had room for seven 2x1 habs. On this Class-B ship, since I had an extra two slots to play with on this build I was able to increase the number of 2x1 habs to nine. I'll include a picture of what I'm talking about. By moving the two rear gears to where the number 5 and number 6 engines would have been on the class a ship, I was able to cram in an extra two habs at the bottom of the ship. imgur.com/a/hMna6aw
I guess that when I decide to build the Queen B (I haven’t completed the Constellation quest for the best engines to build the Capybara III) I will most definitely be sticking to those (4) class B engines. Thank you for the detailed comparison. Unfortunately, I could not view that pic that you sent the link for.
Nice ship, I may have to build this one for myself.
Enjoy!
Can you purchase all the parts for this build in one spot? Looks to be on Jemison. That is quite a build, thanks for the instruction.

(typo) Special = Specialist (correction)
I got a ride in a T-37 once. Alas they never let me fly in an F-16@@snakeater4969

Odd. The link works for me. Hmm...@@snakeater4969
Just because you’re running class b reactor you can still run class a engines can’t you?
Yep. They are backwards compatible.
