Very helpful - I'm getting back into RC after 25 years and your journey is incredibly helpful. This video in particular very informative - and thanks to Hick Jagger also! Cheers from New Zealand
Thank you Bandito, I appreciate you understanding that. This thing has been a real fun learning curve. Please be sure and watch the next video!! I need some help 😩 lol 👊See you on the next
Well, I came across your channel, because I also have a RGT 86010, only the CJ version. They were cheap enough ($236 on Alie express)so I could buy two, one for grandson. I went to a crawling event nearby, and started experimenting to try to fix the shortcomings. I've enjoyed your video, and done some of your changes. I really enjoy tinkering ,and making something considered inferior, into something competitive, without breaking the bank. Just put in my order for the desert lizards, because I also tried the cheap, leaky alternative, and went back stock, until the lizards arrive. Keep up the good work, and good luck at your next event.
Man thanks for sharing. Appreciate the comment and hope to see you around, the tinkering is the best part. Get yourself some crawler innovation foams man 💪
Hello friend! First of all I want to thank you because your videos have been of great help. Last Sunday I made my debut in a Crawler race and I used the TRX6, which despite having passed some obstacles in a clean way and the first time (being that in only one other RC it also passed and only after several attempts) the low bumpers and length of the 6x6 were major obstacles to better performance (I was 7th out of 18 drivers) That's why I'm wondering if with the Wife's RGT I won't make a better figure and it's even more affordable for me to change to be competitive. This is where your videos have been an inspiration and help. Thank you friend!
I made the comment that I'm looking at getting these or the RCLions on your other video. I'm glad you got these man. Your rig is really starting to get dialed in! Thank you for sharing the shock info. I wasn't sure what sprint to run where if I got these. Another great video as always.
Good video. I like the fact that your intro is loud but so is your voice. Most of the UA-camrs have the intro way too loud then I have to turn up the volume to hear them talk. Great content, would like to see these shocks in action now. Keep up the great work.
Thanks a bunch man, that means a lot. Thanks for the comment and hope to see you on the next👍 I am impressed with the quality so far, not too sure about my workmanship 🤣
@@arkansasrcnewbie You are doing fine. It's a breath of fresh air watching a normal guy figuring stuff out like the rest of us. It really is a positive and your workmanship is fine. You know as well as I do that UA-camrs make things look so easy but when you get a product home, it's not that easy lol. You made it real. I am a follower of yours for sure. Good stuff.
Man that's so nice to hear. I am learning and people like you is who I hope will watch and stay loyal. Thank you so much for the comment brother. MAKES me feel good 👍
When are you gonna come try out some of the lines I've got made at my future RC-PARK I just need your keen skill and advise on some more additions to the park it is designed for all RC except water craft

I just installed these on my rig. And I have a stock trx4 and stock scx10, they both crawl better than the one I have with the desert lizards. I think it's because the suspension has no room to go up, only down. So it's riding like it has no suspension if that makes sense. It articulates nice, and more than my stock trucks...but I can climb and crawl better with my stock rigs. I don't really understand why.
Man thanks for the input, that was a good way to put it. I feel the same, they compress good and smooth. But they do get stuck, almost as if the tuning ring is colliding with the bore...
I think they need to be played around with more. All I tried is the droop setup and I wasn't very happy with it. It was getting crazy good flex on dips and what not. But it struggled a fair bit on rocks where my stock trucks had no issues
So you used the soft long spring in the c-clips did you use the small soft spring on top. Or did you just use 1 big soft spring? I don’t see where you mention what you used after talking to hick jagger? Great video and love your rig!
Why are you taking the c-clip off when you can just unscrew the end link? I have never removed my c-clips (don't want to fire them off someplace I'll never find them)for spring changes, only taken off the end link. Helps a bunch to have shock pliers. I'd only remove the clip to change damping shims.
You did it man, nees some proper pliers!! Lol I was going to but did not wanna scratch the stanchions. Appreciate it brother, that nay be the next tool haul 💯
Hey brother, no longer running them, you know ow I need some new internal springs. But after the lube job and learning different weights they did a great job. I like my new ones I got pretty good 👍 let me know how they do for you!!

Well thanks brother, I just used one soft shock for the entire setup. I think it's a work in progress but happy with the performance.
Nice looking lot lizards, future you fixed the rears, right?
Keep watching 🤣
Man that looks badass. No more rubber bands! Gonna handle way different. Get some wheel time in before the next comp.
Yes sir! I really need to man, I appreciate your help with being able to get this done 👍 See you on the next one brother
The rear shocks have to be angled forward not backwards u might wanna fix that
I will brother, thank you 👍👍👍
@@arkansasrcnewbie just a heads up and those axles u have are very good top of the line imo.
I bought the 120mm hope they fit
sorry i kinda having a lapse here loll.. so your not running a spring at all inside the bore correct?
Not an issue brother, there is a spring. It is the softest ran around the stanchions and underneath the plunger.

Thanks man, the latest crawling video just came out!! Complete game changer 🤘
Question from NelaRC are you still running the desert lizard shocks 9 months later? Should have mine here today for a very light build I'm doing.
