    All Factory Team - Green Slime actually is, is Silicone Grease. Silicone Grease is meant for plastic & silicone o-ring lubrication for anyone who did not know this already.

    In my experience, the "droop" setup causes the piston to sit above the shock oil. I installed the shorty springs under the piston and haven't had any trouble since.

    lol. I went with the DLs because of the sticking Traxxas shocks. Fortunately, I did this exact fix anticipating the issue and it works great.

    Typically if they stick it’s air trapped inside the shock in my experience. You might want to flip the shocks so that the body is closer to the axle. It will help your COG. I’m surprised that you run such a light fluid in them. I typically run a 35F/45R in most of mine as a base line, but a RGT is lighter than most 1/0 trucks. Looking forward to more videos

    I wanted to like them....I find the spring grinds inside creating drag and the shock oil needs to be changed VERY frequently. With enough spring drag the inside diameter gets enlarged and causes a number of problems

    If I'm not mistaken the 2 o-rings do not go together the spacer goes between the 2 o-rings 👍 that's how i build all of my shocks and they work very well so 😎

    • @arkansasrcnewbie
      @arkansasrcnewbie  Рік тому +3

      Well i believe with these, the plastic spacer has to go on top because that c clip keeps pressure on the spacer which keeps everything together. I could see that being a better idea/design though. Thanks for the comment brother. 👍

    They are amazing, imo ive never had this problem. I do think there hydrolocked, they are definitely a pain to set up. Took me 4 hours to set mine up the way i like em. Rebuthem probably 10 times till i got it right. I run 15wt oil in mine, never leaked nor had i have to rebuild them over time. Just bought another set 120mm as the first 100mm set kinda forced me to run a half sprung set up with the massive proline mickey thompson baja pro.

      Man thank you for the comment, it's nice someone commenting and explaining what they do. Everyone's quick to point a finger and leave, I appreciate that very much. Thanks, it does seem like the plastic disc is making contact with the bore.

    • @mitchellpeters1086

      No problem, i thred them on about 5 turns making them gush excess oil out than before tightening them fully down i push and hold the shaft at its lowest possible point. Hold it down the whole time till there tight. Helps ensure theres no air and the right amount of oil. Hope you get em working for good, they truly are a top notch set of shocks 👍

    Great video! This may be a dumb question, but why do I see videos of the DL shocks being mounted upside down? Thanks for the help!

    • @arkansasrcnewbie
      @arkansasrcnewbie  Рік тому +3

      😂 Man I have seen these too! Now don't quote me on this but I do believe the reason is to help with the vehicles center of gravity. Since the bore of the shock holds oil and has more material, mounting upside down keeps the weight down "literally". Number 2 is the decompression, since crawlers need to have the low center of gravity, mounting upside down helps with the compression of the shock, less movement. I think 🤔 lol thanks for watching brother and I hope this helps!

    You should have done one axle first and let it rest for a day. Then after the 'stuck' shocks had time to stick, then done a left test to truly see if it fixed it when this was filmed.
