Can I beat Pokémon X with only Green Pokémon using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Green Pokémon on each route
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

stupid idea perhaps, but what about a fairy nuzlocke… in a generation without fairy types? where you can only use Pokémon that would in later gens be fairy types. not quite a monotype challenge, but still following very specific encounter rules. Totally get if it would be too similar to the fairy monolocke you already did, just more a random thought. Absolutely loving the color type challenges, they’re super fun to watch! lots of diversity to play with

I love these colour themed nuzlockes, they mean you don't have to do monotype strategy gymnastics but you also get stuck with some really weird teams. These nuzlockes really are the highlight of my saturday, thanks so much for the content man!
I like them a lot as well, I'd like to see a "colorblind" challenge as well using red/green pokemon but maybe that's insensitive 😅

It's kind of a small thing, but I like that you always get the pokemons' genders right. Always bugs me when people just default to 'he' (or she if it's Gardevoir or Delphox or whatever)

Dragon Rage from an Axew in that exact area was the cause of my first Nuzlocke death ever.

Can't say what I enjoy more, the colorful commentary during the battles, the tone for each run, the tinge of sadness with each in memoriam or the hue that the paper cut outs give to the final battles. It all gives an excellent glow to the final work. Keep em up.

How is Regidrago considered green? If you look closely to the list, you can see that Regidrago is the 2nd last Pokemon on that list.
Bronzor and Bronzong are on the list too, they're clearly a metallic blue lol

Blue and Green in many cultures were often considered to be the same color, maybe that's the logic here
@@IceRaptor There's a separate color category for Blue in the Pokedex, though, so I don't think that's it.
The gym leader party matching is something i always do and it's great! It really makes you think and plan even without a hardcore or nuzlocke ruleset
yh I know and it really gets you into that ash style journey instead of just spamming a full team of underleveled Pokemon at gyms. I plan on party matching for gen 9 but I need a way to figure out how many pokemon they have without knowing what they are (for a bit of a surprise).

@@karlthenoob1637 that's a bit of a pickle. I don't typically do it for my first playthrough, but if i was going to, i'd just ballpark it. Maybe 2 pkmn for Gym 1, 3 for 2-4, and 4 for 5-8? Same spirit if nothing else.
@@karlthenoob1637 Bulbapedia puts the pokemon for important trainers in tabs that are collapsed by default, but the display for the collapsed version shows how many pokemon they have. Could use that!

I think Golett and Golurk are supposed tool like they're made of rusted copper, hence them being classified as green

That on-the-fly stall strategy on the magneton really shows your experience in battling.
That magneton was looking incredibly scary. One badly timed accuracy drop or thunder bolt paralysis could have easily been a wipe.

I would like to still recommend a "no same type moves" nuzlocke where you can't use any moves that share the type of the mon.

I think that doing a mono flying/levitate run, where you have to challenge every sky trainer could be pretty fun and challenging.

Amazing! Really love that you brought back the papers at the end, you and Dana are awesome! However, I am not sure I agree X and Y are easy for Nuzlockes, I struggle with these games a lot when I try to Nuzlocke them. It's not the bosses, the random trainers are strong!

The Pokédex is used as the classification, so shinies would be allowed, but there's no Shiny Clause

I'm doing my first nuzlocke in Pokemon Y cuz it's considered pretty easy and I just have to say every death I've had has been 100% fair. With either me being stupid or not paying attention at all it's really taught me that. I NEED TO FOCUS ON EVERY BATTLE

It's not easy being green.
Got a couple ideas that could be interesting for a Nuzlocke challenge. The first is one where you only use Pokemon that have died in a previous challenge, could limit it to just the successful challenges too. And the second is only using Pokemon that have killed one of your Pokemon in a previous challenge, again you could limit this by only counting the successful ones.
The first could even make for a fun Halloween episode, the ghosts of Nuzlocke past coming out to frighten those who have wronged them.
i did this on the original red blue and yellow, it was harder than i thought so i added pokemon whos colours were combinations of primary colours so for example you can use charizard in both red and yellow because its an orange pokemon.
This challange definetly made me aprecciate chesnaut a lot more. Despite the weird color scheme for no reason, he is a preety cool pokemon

I don’t think I’ve noticed it before, and I’m unaware if it’s intentional or not, but you use he/him if a Pokemon is male, she/her if a Pokemon is female and they/them if a Pokemon (in this case the Golurk line and Starmie) doesn’t have a gender. I’d just like to say thank you for respecting pixels on a screen better than some people treat other people irl. It might not to other people, but it means a lot to me. Thank you :)

What about a Nuzlocke where you only allow pokemon with a BST under 500/450/400 (whichever).
You could also choose to allow/disallow NFE pokemon for this (or not use eviolite, as it could break this), or similarly, just a no (full) evolution challenge.

I've wondered this for a lil while. My running theory is that you pronounce certain Pokémon names in a 'peculiar' way, to boost the algorithm. People commenting 'blah blah you say emolga weird' has got to be a good thing. Of course, you could just be doing it for the memes. Either way. I respect it. That one run where you pronounced a name multiple different ways had me in bits lmao

Why the heck is Leafeon considered green? I mean, sure, its tail and... single bladed mohawk(?) are green. But that really shouldn’t be the deciding factor when 95% of their body is tan.
@@garbagelord4374 well… it’s considered green because it’s colored like some lettuce, green at the top and a tan/whiteish color elsewhere, so it’s more a visual aspect that calls back to that

I'm not sure why, But I really appreciate that he always gets every single pokemon's gender right without fail. Like it's slightly irritating at times when people say the wrong one when it's right there in their name. Not blaming those people or anything, it's an honest mistake to make but it's satisfying to see someone not do that. I'm also loving the color theme runs bc it's often an arbitrary thing that a lot of people don't even know about in the pokedex. Also, I love using the anime rules of same amount of pokemon as the opponent in my casual runs, so it's nice to see it being used here in a nuzlocke.
Your names for these Pokémon are essentially all people I know (at least there second names) so great Irish names there

23:45 I’m actually trying to write a fan region that will hopefully become a fully fledged fangame and it actually gives one of the unnamed admins a centre role as the main villain. They were a scientist named Zaki, who came from the Johto region, where they lived with their young daughter and wife in Blackthorn City. The Team Rocket takeover occurs, and he and his family get taken hostage by team rocket, who kill his wife and most of his daughter’s Pokémon, leaving only one of the Dreepy who was under the care of her Dragapult. Seeing cruelty of team rocket causes him to basically go insane, and he becomes obsessed with purity and peace. Years later, he leaves for the Kalos region to join Team Flare. After their defeat, he doesn’t give up, believing that they only failed because they were deluded, and focused on the wrong problem with the right solution. This leads to the present day. The player has arrived in a new region, prepared to start their journey. They arrive at the lab and meet their new rival, a girl named Kaiya, a student of Clair and Lance. She already has a Dragapult at quite a high level, but wanting a fresh start, she decides to not use it in battle, instead using the newly-hatched Dratini that Clair gave her as a parting gift. With that, you depart on your journey, only to discover that your new friends father has amassed an army, and aims to launch his scheme in this new region.

You could do a 5th gen game with only encounters you find from phenomenon… dust, rustling grass, shadows, and water ripples
what if you did a [body shape] only run, either using the Pokédex's categorization, or just making a judgment of what their silhouette is? so Azumarill could be a biped-with-tail, or qualify as a spherical pokémon depending on how you want to call it. a team with all round or round-and-stubby-limbed members would be cute

What about a galar mono eeveelution run? Get the train station eevee from having let’s go data on your switch and then catch 8 eevee on route 4 and evolve then thought the challenge
