Ever tried Squad 44 or Squad? I like DayZ a lot but i'm a hardcore milsim guy and I think DayZ is more "Hardcore" than "Realistic". In real life only a small percent of animals have salmonella, yet every animal in DayZ has it. Any sickness will kill you as your immune system is non existent and requires medicine, and somehow knives and rocks are more rare than guns in some cases. I also find the HitReg to be very annoying, as you need to aim infront of people to hit them due to the delay. Other than that it's a fun game, but obviously not meant to be hyper realistic and the engine its running on is old. I've seen people make DayZ 2 on arma reforger (Funny because OG DayZ is also based on an arma mod XD) so we'll see how it turns out. I also tried Green Hell but find it to be too easy, even on hardest difficulty.

I think for light merchant ships the HE shells will do more damage than AP
The way the game code works is that AP shells do more damage overall.
