I am not sure I understand your struggles. Did you look at your boat? Its woefully underequipped if you are in U-764. The boat needs a snorkel, accumulators, motrex, toilets, and hydrophones. I loaded that scenario up and there is no way you can raid in the Atlantic and survive unless you take 4 pills hoping you can shoot and run with that limited amount, sell all your torpedoes for free ones, buy pills at the least, and just hope to land a few shots and run for your life. Your using tactics like its 1940 sailing into a convoy the way you do. If you read the mission, there is no more wolfpacks. Your job is to try to pick off a ship here or there. I took only agent missions or just sailed to get km to cash out the mission until I got upgraded toilets, motrex, and snorkel. I always had at least 4 pills to throw, and they saved my life still took damage from a plane that depth charged me. But that first few months to get equipment is very tedious and slow. It says that scenario is hard for a reason, because it is. The only difference in realism is I didn't mess with the targeting or darkness. I think I had enemy at medium, but I did not sink a single ship in 3 months, and I didn't encounter but a few old tribal destroyers off Portugal during an agent mission. As soon as I could I moved to the artic from Norway.

i attempted attack of aruba after upgrading to the type VIIC... assumed i had enough range. they won't resupply, and i have no milk cow yet. as far as i'm concerned it's a flaw in the game... i shouldn't be offered missions that are impossible to complete..

So....what do you think about the idea of putting your sub under a cargo ship to avoid detection and depth charges and hedge hogs, leap frog under Cargo ships until you get to the front of the Convoy and them jam out

Yah....just started to do the Atlantic in my puny Type II.....lol...... it's brutal getting an ass kicking....but worth it sinking a giant tanker running under a false Argentinian flag.....pretty fireworks!......it's a bitch going all the way back to home port THROUGH the English channel..... hopefully I can change Port to the Coast of France 😅

The distance at 43:31 would have been a lot more correct (3.336 km) if you had identified the destroyer correctly as a Tribal-class. The funnel shape is the tell-tale difference.

Yah ... I'v noted the distance tool in the Parascope is 💩. I use the ruler to calculate distance. AOB....I use Map tools. Speed......Map and Stopwatch

Hi Salted, is there, on average an ideal torpedo depth? I find that even when I hit a target midships they sometimes still manage to stay afloat, especially C3's and Liberty ships. Asking this as of Dec '24 incase things have change or plan to be be updated. Thanks!

Dang bro after a long break from the game I was literally doing the opposite where I would measure my angle relative to the very front of the ship thinking literally angle ON BOW. Was having torpedos literally slide right in front to the point where the ship would almost run it over

Love that shot you made at 560. You are point blank, but shot the torpedo at 30kt which is hilarious. You gotta turn up the speed when you are that close and want to hit because it will make up for any miscalculations. The T1 is special with that high speed shot it can make. Especially since you were spotted already the steam trail won't matter. Also to blow your mind about the type II, there was no use of type II in the Atlantic. The Type II tonnage record was around 50k, but yet you are expected to sink 100k to get a VII. Also the VII was in full use at start of the war and even more mind blowing was the IX WAS IN FULL USE ON SEPTEMBER 1st 1939 WHEN WAR BEGAIN!!!!

Atlantic theatre mission 3 gives a upgrade ticket. That's my next mission when i play next

Excellent tutorial. Now I know when to use the green VS red AOB dial! Quick questions : can we still see the torpedo view? Nothing happens when I click on mine. Also, if you set you torpedo solution and move your boat to better align, do you need to recalculate the solution or does it adapt automatically? (and perhaps only need to adjust the distance?). Thanks!
