We all find out (the hard way) why 3 out of 4 U-boat crews did not make it through the war, making it Germany's deadliest military service. I know that in the US, being a member of the Eighth Air Force was its deadliest service, where 1 out of 3 died. I'm not sure about Canada or any other country.

All the negative comments don’t make any sense to me. The game is clearly going for an arcade style game. Some people prefer it, some don’t. Uboat isn’t going anywhere.

Would the first one have exploded if it was set to Magnetzündung (MZ) instead of Aufschlagzündung (AZ)? Or does it have to go under the ship for the MZ to trigger? Also, does the MZ allow for more shallow AoB without duds, since I understand that the Torpedo doesn't even have to touch the hull to trigger? I just learned about the MZ and I'm trying to learn the game and you seem to have played it for quite some time...

Hey salty! Excuted about the new type IX update?

I'm still learning this game, but 1 valuable tip I found on a YT video was if you take one engineer and assign him as a torpedo mechanic, make sure his shift is set to all gray - don't assign him any specific work hours, but make sure he has load and maintain torpedoes tasks assigned and he'll automatically take care of your torpedoes. You may need to manually assign him to load specific torpedo models, if you have different ones loaded. I have found that the torpedoes are always loaded, maintained and ready to use when this is set up. I've only tested this on the smaller Type 2 boats, but it should work on the larger boats too.
