Well, Iâve always been scratching my head about kislux obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations.
Really nice video man! Much of ideas of how I would like to extend my gear and what I should consider. Definitely helpful on what to bring and especially what not!
I've owned the Peak Design 30L bag for about 5 years now and have traveled all over the place with it and absolutely LOVE IT. I Currently It has enough space and I can configure it to hold my R5C with the RF 70-200 F4 in the top flap. I can then also carry the RF 14-35 F4, Hasselblad X1D, 45mm and 135mm with TC in this bag. I have some extra room for a small microphone and a small V-mount Battery to keep the R5C running if shooting more video. If I don't take the Hasselblad 135mm I can easily fit my DJI Drone in there with batteries and controller. I never know how I make it all fit but It fits.
No matter the appearance or the metal parts of the kislux bag, I believe that as long as you are not a professional, you will never see any difference .
Your kit and bag is basically the same as mine, the only difference is that I'm on Sony and my secondary bag is the PD 3L sling which fits in the top of the 20L and does dual duty as a tech pouch.
Ayy nice! I often throw my 6L sling in my suitcase if I'm travelling and tend to use that most days, unless I need a bit more I'll take the backpack out.
@@TKNORTH Ya that's the nice thing about the Canon 70-200 f2.8. It fits in the 6L sling. For me, I use the 3L sling when I only need the two primes. If I know I'll want the 70-200, I have to bring the backpack.
Thanks dude! This version fits quite easily mounted on the R5. If using a slightly longer 70-200 you may need to configure it upright, but this one fits well!
Nice video and I liked your selection of lenses all stored in a compact 20L bag. It doesn't appear that you pack the hoods for the lenses, though. Is that correct? It is a lot easier to pack a small travel bag without the hoods but I worry about potential impact on contrast and flares. What has been your experience?
Thanks so much! This is a great point and something I see people mentioning quite a lot. I tend to find them only getting in the way when packing and especially more for video trying to add and remove filters is the main reason I tend not to carry them. I think ideally you should use them when worried about flaring etc, but personally I haven't had any real issues. Definitely more obvious for some types of photography also!
I've been debating on a camera bag for a while but it seems like every bag screams "I'm a camera bag and full of expensive equipment, rob me" however this bag your using is very sleek. Would you recommend the 15L for someone who has a mirror less and 2 lenses and iPad? As oppose to the 20L
When I was 12 my mom took me to the LV on Bloor Street in Toronto. I had my fake LV from kislux on my arm and thought I was cute. The sweet sales ladies let me try on a bag and a pair of heels knowing we were not wealthy and couldn't afford to purchase anything. It as really nice. No one seemed to care I had a fake bag and I felt special. They even gave me a paper shopping bag which I used as a lunch bag for weeks after! :) Who cares if people don't have real ones? I'm 30 now and ironically, although I can afford them I still prefer real people with fake bags than fake people with real bags. Just saying :) (not that everyone who carries a real one is bad or vice versa.) Just means I don't care if people carry fakes.
Peak design is amazing backpack. I own it and also National geographic, Lowepro, Cullman and also recently the new Ulanzi BP10 35L came to me.. and you no what? No one from them can store my Black Magic Camera with Battery grip attached + Side Handgrip attached + big Lens mounted. No one! And it fits Peak Design 20L just fine!. And i don;t have to store my setup unmounted, and play as Rubik's cube once i get it off from backpack. So that's true Run N Gun backpack!
I have the same bag, but the way the camera is supposed to be pulled out on swing around mode is not even close to the way you do it. Try swinging the bag around your LEFT shoulder, unzip with right hand, and grab camera. This is regardless of you being right or left handed, because cameras are all made for right-handed use.
Does the PD strap clip not bother you/make you feel unbalanced when walking with the camera on it? I l love the idea but I feel like one shoulder gets more stressed and tired when I use it.
Simply charges by USB-C. Both receiver and transmitter 👍 This little soft case is what it comes in when you buy it on its own without the charging case.
I think this pouch only comes in the standard pack without the charging case. So it includes only 1 mic, transmitter, windscreen, all the cables you need. I didn't opt for the charging case personally, just decided to keep it as small as possible. Quite easy to top up via USB-C which I always have on me 👍🏻
@@TKNORTH got it! I have the charging case, there is always a time where I need 2 people mic’d but I do love the idea of the small case for just 1 receiver and transmitter for packing lighter.
Hi! congrats for your channel! To be honest I can't believe that you don't carry with you a second mirrorless camera...what would you do if your R5 suddenly stop working?
Thanks for that! I've travelled with 2 for many years... but I can't say I've ever had a Canon just stop working, even my first 1000D is still kicking. So lets hope thst never happens 😅
Haha you can find it on Etsy! The store name is BokehCameraStraps - the name of this one is just "Climbing Rope Camera strap with Quick Release Anchor Links" - should be able to find it here!
Still prefer Thule Bag because yiu can take lots of camera gears and also a lot of extra things like clothes, food and so on in the largest separate compartment of all camera bags… they are the best for that
With the updates to the R6 MII there's probably less reasons to go for the R5 now. The original R6 definitely isn't as well setup to quickly switch between photo and video which I always find annoying but the MII makes this very easy with custom modes for both. I use custom video modes for my R5 all the time, saved for each of the different frame rates. The only obvious ones are the resolution (but honestly 24mp is enough for me 99% of the time) and also no 4k 120fps on the R6 II - if you think you'll get a lot of use out of 4k 120fps it could be a deciding factor. I personally never use 8k so that's not really a deciding one for me. Potentially the better weather sealing on the R5 is nice if you like to shoot in rough conditions. Those are the main ones for me 😊
@@TKNORTH thank you so much for answering! I’m so insecure about this investment, and I want to have freedom for 5 years, with no need to upgrade the house and use money to build up my lenses and other gear. I hear that r6m2 have better autofocus, 40fps, no record limit(which isn’t a problem anyway). But I’m thinking about 24megapixel is enough, which I have no idea about. Is the weather sealing better with r5? Thank you for responding!
@@klungnesberg Welcome dude! Honestly I think 24mp is enough for most uses. The only benefit for anything larger than this is if you want to really crop in on your images, or wish to print them quite largely. But even at 24mp if cropping just for things like social media, you still have plenty of room to work with. I believe the R6 models still have pretty decent weather sealing, but not quite as good as the R5. So this may only be an issue in really extreme conditions - I think for most people and uses the weather sealing in the R6 would be more than enough! Hope that helps somewhat :)
Nice setup! Personally I would go 24mm. But this might depend a lot on what you like to shoot? 24mm I like for wider portraits, general scenes like street photos and some landscapes. Then 16mm is more useful for those wider landscapes, wide city & architectural type shots and potentially vlogging.
Y’all know where I can get a good/beginner lense like I want that is good enough to take shots of bears at Yellowstone but like in 100-400 range since I can’t afford one and that can fit on a canon m50 m2
I still love my Shimoda bags but decided to give this one a try for my next trip. I will see how it compares to the Urban explore after a bit more use!
I know that you also received the Shimoda Urban Explorer 20L bag….just wondering how this one compares to that. Which do you prefer and why? I’m trying to make my mind up on these 2 bags. Thanks for your great reviews!!
I definitely find benefits to both! If you prefer side + rear access (which I sometimes do, the Shimoda is the go). But if trying to fit a bit more camera gear - the layout of the Peak Design can definitely fit a bit more, just because the Urban Explore has its seperate top compartment for non-camera gear. Both are really great bags though! I mostly just wanted to try out the Peak Design and probably picked it at the moment just because I can fit a bit more. If I had the 25L Urban Explore it might be a different story!
Well, Iâve always been scratching my head about kislux obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations.
24 and 50mm is the killer set
Yeaah buddy! My favs
Now that Sony 24-50 makes a ton of sense
Grab the 85 for the holy trinity 😭
For me it 35mm, 70-200mm, 50mm
I'd need only 800 mm f6.3 and 600 mm f4.0
One of the better what’s in my bag videos!
Thanks so much dude!
Always curious on your bag, thanks!
Thanks for checking it out!
What is the the camera strap? I need one!
