Haven’t tried the 7L yet but I want one. If I had to choose one though I’d go for the 10 as it actually holds my 16 inch MBP and I use it as my everyday bag at home
I remember checking your video when I was interested in the Shimoda explore v2. I bought the 30 lts black one and am pretty happy with it. My gear is apsc sized so I use a shoulder bag like tenba BYOB insert. I position the tenba sideways with the mouth open, in such a way that I can open the side zip of the shimoda and access the gear just like a shimoda core unit was intended. I remove it from the shimoda when I am walking around taking pictures and put it back in when I'm going to and fro. So good to see someone else use a similar way of carrying around their gear.
I bought the 40L Shimodo bag. It's been fantastic so far, the main difference from yours is it has a roll top for expansion. The down side is that it has to be a checked bag on longer, bigger planes. So I am looking at a compatible sling bag. I currently have my eye on the Wandrd 6L sling. Shimodo is a very interesting product, apparently very good warranty, coming with a postcard type note from the creator, stating that anything you are unhappy with to please let them know.
Thanks for this! I've been struggling lately with my PD sling and then, because of your video, discovered the Wotancraft. For the last few days I've been researching it thoroughly. For my use, I believe the 7L Pilot will work perfectly, giving me that extra little space over my current 6L. And, it's a pretty durable, handsome looking bag! Can't wait for it to arrive!
That's a lot of gear to carry on one shoulder! I wish I could be a big guy like you so I could carry that much and not get tired 5 minutes into the trip 😂
I agree with your kit, but cropping in doesn't change your compression or look. The framing will be different with 105mm (APS-C Mode), but the compression will still be that of a 70mm, unfortunately. I have a trip to Korea in a few months, and planning on taking the Tamron 20-40mm 2.8, Rokinon 75mm T1.9, and the Sirui 35mm Saturn Anamorphic for some wide aspect ratio shots
This is a great video! One question though - many airlines seem to have a 7kg (15.4lbs) or 10kg (22lbs) carry on weight limit. How do you get around that? Do you have any tips or tricks...? The weight of my carry is my biggest issue...
Ever considered the Tamron 28-200? I took this to me with to Southern Italy and London and it's so light and wonderful. Also carried the Sony 35 1.4 and I had just about everything I needed in a super light kit. Also had the Tamron 17-28 with me but only took it with me on days when I knew I would need it.

Any other crucial travel gear I am missing in my setup?
I’m drawn to this bag since you showed it in action. Do you recommend the 10L over the 7L?

The Wotancraft is amazing, I really can’t say enough good things about it. Highly recommend checking it out!
@@seandalt do they allow it to be stored under the seat in front of you on the plane ? that's my idea with it.

Of course :)
Great video Sean! Who would have thought you could pack so much into a carry-on bag 🙂

It sure is 😅 we’ll see how it goes. But yeah I’m quite a large person so it’s manageable for me.

Great Video. Thank you! You mention taking all that as carry on. surely that all weighs more than the 8kg weight limit, how do you get around this?
Hi Sean what you mind sharing what filter you had on the 35mm?

I just picked up the 20-200 this week and I love it. I'm curious what he thinks about it!
Hi Sean! Would you mind sharing which SD card case you use? Can't wait to see what you will capture in Europe 😊📸
I just got a cheap one on Amazon I can’t remember!
hi sean,
i want to ask, is it possible to bring tripod on flight cabin ?
Totally depends on the country. I would error on the side of checking it. Indonesia doesn’t allow it, but I’m not sure about others.
Hi Sean! Why don’t you purchase Apple air tags? It worked for us.
I did! I forgot to mention them :)
try tamorn 70-180 Better than the 70-200 lens for travel
I though You would pack for a month into a carry-on
