Ubi “learning” and taking the weakest part of Ghosts of Tsushima (its open world side activities) and thinking they fixed their open world side activities, it is classic Ubisoft. That game was fun because of Combat and Story. Not its open world activities
I don't want to hear anyone talk about how Renn's ideas to better this game are unrealistic in a post baldurs gate 3 world! Soldires could have types like light medium and heavy. They can have sneaky special ops guys who grapple around and have ghili suits, they could have a flamethrower battalion, they could have squads that have a heavy gunner and a commander calling shots for the mechs. Idea: Skills are not unlocked in a menu but instead you can obtain them by visiting navi tribes to unite them. You have to prove yourself, some are warriors and doing work for them gives you the option to visit one of their shrines to increase your strength or weapon skills. Another tripe prouds itself in its closeness with nature and you can basically do jump and run challenges in their extensive root filled cave syste,, the further you get, the more skills you can unlock until you reach the core, a big hunk of unobtainium surrounded by roots and effigees that show it has been reveered for millenia.
Xen in that game puts to shame the capabilities of ubisoft as a game dev company source mods and devs are far more talented than the whitest cream of devs in ubisoft plus far more creative.
Renn I love your dedication to the bit. Every single time you drop a video for something you do something wacky, funny or cringe sometimes all 3 together, but it makes the videos so much more than just a game review. Keep on keeping on, Renn, never change! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
James Cameron's Avatar: The Game was better you could play as RDA or NAVI. There were tons of weapons. You could ride the ikran and the big wolf. As RDA the helicopters, mechs, cars. It was made like an single player mmo but it was fun.
This reminds me of all the game versions of movies they used to fart out in time to cash in on new movies before christmas. I thought we were past this.
The game is good. Dont believe the cringy spambot sheeple saying its just farcry with blue people. ubisoft made a good one for the first time in a while.
the game is good. like one comment said there is shortcomings but if you truly love open world games it’s for you. there isn’t as many random events per say but if you walk most the time you’ll find yourself discovering things about the game and the world. i’m probably about 30 hours in with only 35%-40% done with the man story. just got the ikran last night. i’m really enjoying it. don’t let negative reviews drive you away. you will notice the shortcomings but you will also notice the cool subtle relaxing parts of the game. i honestly enjoy cooking and hunting. i pretend im really in pandora. my biggest problem which the video talked about was the npcs are very bland and boring. i hope maybe this game can get polished up and new things and movements for the world around us can get better. if they plan on making another game im all for it.
Go to someone's place, they're not there, get sent somewhere else, go there, they're not there, get sent somewhere else, go there, they're not there.... Hey, it's life before cellphones!
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a very basic reskin of Far Cry Primal. It's exactly the same game, slightly more boring and slightly more looking better because graphics updates from their Far Cry 6 build. It's really a chore to play. I tried it on Ubisoft+ and I'm happy I paid a 4th of the stand alone game and cancelled the plan 20 hours in the game. It's not great.
Yeah, I don't see how it's "exactly the same game." I think they are both different flavors of suck. The only similarity is the nature setting and you can use a bow.
17:20 this is the exact problem I had with AC valhalla. Whenever there was a collectible, half the time it always boiled down to "this is inside of a building or underground, how do I get there?" Often, it resulted in finding the correct angle to shoot something through a window, or finding a hidden entrance, or finding a key nearby. It slowed the game to a complete halt; I wasn't engaged in any way, I was just looking around to find the critical path to proceed. Apparently, shit like this is just part of the design document they use for all of their games now, which is sad to see.
@@joolkatorYeah i enjoyed Avatar far more than those two games combined, it's still average Ubislop but it was far more palatable than normal, for me anyway.
I really enjoy it too so far. Skipping the story dialog and going straight to gameplay is really fun and relaxing. This game has a lot of strong point but also massive but avoiding one. For a month of ubisoft +, its really worth it
I feel like the game would be so much better with dynamic encounters and a better progression system, like if you could encounter other groups of Na'vi like a hunting party hunting a herd and following a trail, or a healer gathering herbs, or even some Na'vi children just playing in the trees, but the fact that you can't find Na'vi walking around the world at all would make the environment seem really lifeless, and I'm so shocked that it's not a feature since so many other titles have a similar mechanic with random encounters (Skyrim does this really well). And for progression I feel like the game would've benefitted better from a more linear progression system but with a build you can customize, like you could have a build that lets you handle human weapons better, or better archery, better melee, etc. also its kinda criminal that there are no melee weapons?! like knives or clubs or spears or something? I'm pretty sure I've seen all those things while watching the movies so its weird there's none in the game. I definitely think and agree that Ubisoft couldn't take the game as far as they wanted to, because the IP put too many restrictions on them because they wanted it to be lore-friendly and canon to the movies, but they definitely could've done more with it if they had creative freedom and took some liberties with it. I feel like the biggest issue being that they kinda made the game for the same audience that would've watched the movies, and not actually for gamers.
Waited before finishing the game just in case it got exciting and I spoiled anything for myself. I was wrong. The closest I had to having fun was fighting the endgame rank 20 outpost because it had a cool raid style mining laser boss. In other words: it was what every story mission should have been like.
I kinda wish you could switch between navi and human (you know an avatar) with being able to use weapons and vehicles/mechs as a human and being able to use the animals in combat as a navi, would at least create some much needed variety.
I love how we are all collectively giving Ubisoft the middle finger even though their paid youtubers tried their best to make this seem like a decent game before release.
I played the game and actually did end up enjoying it, the open world is incredible. However, I will absolutely agree that the quests are generic, and the storyline is basically the boundless mediocrity we’ve come to expect from Ubisoft.
@@Noob-yx1cu Yes, that's why he asked the question. I also love how fragile the presumably bullet-proof glass is on the mechs; like, that shit should be 6-inch-thick polycarbonate or something, no one should be punching through it even when cracked.

Surprisingly there was a game tie in to the first movie and it forced you to use bows and melee weapons as a navi.
And yet it’s gonna sell well and be a success for Ubisoft. My friend is super excited to play this when he gets his new graphics card solely because of the graphics. He told me that it’s a game for PC enthusiasts who can run it on the highest settings, and playing it any other way wont get you the same experience.
I responded with “so it’s a bad game”
Its not a bad game. But u wont have nothing "spécial " with it
@@Oggre no it’s a pretty bad game from the little I played.
The world is lifeless, the combat is mind numbingly easy, the guns don’t feel like they belong (it feels like somebody modded guns into far cry primal), there’s only two enemies types, the main antagonist quit literally disappears for most of the game.

The fact that this game is getting positive reviews proves that gaming is only going to get worse.
omg i laughed so much when it just panned to him being blue😭
I just feel bad for the people that worked on this game. They must've been all giddy to get to work on the official Avatar game, only to be pushed into a bad direction by the higher-ups...
Ubisoft is a decaying, rotting corpse of what it was.
And then they outdid themselves with Skull and Bones.
Ubi “learning” and taking the weakest part of Ghosts of Tsushima (its open world side activities) and thinking they fixed their open world side activities, it is classic Ubisoft. That game was fun because of Combat and Story. Not its open world activities
lmao ghost of tsushima is exactly like Afop in its open world
Ghost of Tsushima is one step above Ubisoft…but it’s still boring as shit as soon as the pretty graphics stop wowing u.
Ubisoft is basically a personification of wasted potencial at this point

I don't want to hear anyone talk about how Renn's ideas to better this game are unrealistic in a post baldurs gate 3 world! Video game's can do anything with the hardware power of modern gaming PC's and consoles. It's just about actualy caring about the small details and implementing those mechanics.
Soldires could have types like light medium and heavy. They can have sneaky special ops guys who grapple around and have ghili suits, they could have a flamethrower battalion, they could have squads that have a heavy gunner and a commander calling shots for the mechs. Literally thought about yhis for 2 minutes.
Normally people would be like ''Oh another stupid baffoon filming for his UA-cam vlog!'' but since Ren is such a wholesome guy they all just react happy to it. Never change those awesome (and awkward) public appearances ^_^

This Ubisoft pandemic needs to stop. This review could've been applied not only to every Ubisoft game but to Ghost of Tsushima, the two Horizon games...

Ghost of Tsushima has great combat and environments, but it is laid out in a very far cry like way.
I don't really have a problem with that in theory, they just need to actually DO something with it.
@@XxCorvette1xX To me it felt like a very beautiful Ubisoft game, but a Ubisoft game at the end of the day.

Of all the bloody studios out there they had to give it to Ubisoft.
I bloody promise you if some small but passionate indie studio was tasked with making an Avatar game, with some financial backing it would be a masterpiece to go down the Gaming history.
Idea:
Skills are not unlocked in a menu but instead you can obtain them by visiting navi tribes to unite them.
The glitches I’ve run into are insane

James Cameron's Avatar: The Game was better you could play as RDA or NAVI. There were tons of weapons. You could ride the ikran and the big wolf. As RDA the helicopters, mechs, cars. It was made like an single player mmo but it was fun.

The tragic irony is that I bought this game while watching this and will probably still get that fan level enjoyment out of it.
Gamers are rating it a fair bit higher than game reviewers. Seems like gamers are enjoying it quite a bit.
Despite the shortcomings listed in the video, I'm still enjoying it myself.
The game is good. Dont believe the cringy spambot sheeple saying its just farcry with blue people. ubisoft made a good one for the first time in a while.
the game is actually good
the game is good. like one comment said there is shortcomings but if you truly love open world games it’s for you. there isn’t as many random events per say but if you walk most the time you’ll find yourself discovering things about the game and the world. i’m probably about 30 hours in with only 35%-40% done with the man story. just got the ikran last night. i’m really enjoying it. don’t let negative reviews drive you away. you will notice the shortcomings but you will also notice the cool subtle relaxing parts of the game. i honestly enjoy cooking and hunting. i pretend im really in pandora.
my biggest problem which the video talked about was the npcs are very bland and boring. i hope maybe this game can get polished up and new things and movements for the world around us can get better. if they plan on making another game im all for it.
No
Yeah, I don't see how it's "exactly the same game." I think they are both different flavors of suck.
Nothing can be worse than AC Valhalla
and FC6
@@joolkatorYeah i enjoyed Avatar far more than those two games combined, it's still average Ubislop but it was far more palatable than normal, for me anyway.
just need good Divison 3 game, enough for me from Ubisoft
I feel like the biggest issue being that they kinda made the game for the same audience that would've watched the movies, and not actually for gamers.
after hearing Renn speak Na'vi I now know they are just Gungans in body paint.
You know its bad when there is more enemy variety in James Camerons original Avatar game
such a wasted opportunity cause this universe is so beautiful. amazing review btw
Ubisoft needs to hire you to help fix this game. All valid points
this game feels like how Blood Dragon felt (despite not playing nearly as well or being as iconic) like a reskinned spinoff far cry game
It is always a good day when Renn posts a new vid. Happy holidays to all :)
16:36 Renn almost got sucked into the manosphere for a sec
I love how we are all collectively giving Ubisoft the middle finger even though their paid youtubers tried their best to make this seem like a decent game before release.

I played the game and actually did end up enjoying it, the open world is incredible. However, I will absolutely agree that the quests are generic, and the storyline is basically the boundless mediocrity we’ve come to expect from Ubisoft.
No kidding on the animation looking unfinished, the OG Avatar Wii game my brother and I played as kids in 2009/10 looks LEAGUES better
