- Do you want to know why cats lick their owners? Many pet owners are familiar with the experience of their furry companion suddenly starting to affectionately lick their hands, legs, face, or even hair. But what does this behavior mean? Here are three possible reasons why a cat might lick a person.
Cats are true clean freaks, meticulously grooming their fur every day. However, some felines don’t limit themselves to personal hygiene and happily lick their owners as well. So, what’s behind this quirky ritual when a cat licks you?
My rescue cat does not lick but he just started sleeping next to us at night in our bed after 2 years... I prefer that over licking... Every time someone comes home, he runs to the door to great us... Same goes as we come down stares in the mornings... This is our first pet cat and love it. We rescued him as a stray where I work... He has his ways of showing affection like sitting with us as we watch TV in the living room on the arm of the couch next to us and following us where ever we go... He always wants to be with us and that's okay because he is part of our family...
I had a kitten that loved to lick everyone's hair. Mostly in bed but he would nestle on the couch if possible. That little guy was full of love.
WELL said. Two cats own me. Big Tiger is a ginger cat. His little sister is a Calico. Kairi is her name. Kairi is ALWAYS licking, kissing me. Tiger sometimes. My head. He sometimes gets up on pillow.....licks one spot on head. 🥰🫠 He stays there. Lick kiss ONE spot until I wake up.🥰🫠 I KNOW he's showing affection. But, that sand paper tounge can rub me raw. Gives me a raspberry!!🥰🫠 I'd be lost without these two.
