  • **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

I’ve just found you ! Wow, I love love love what you do. I’ve inherited a very old side board (over 100 yrs ) think it’s covered in a black shellac. I’m going to follow everything what you have taught here to give it a new life. Thank you so much for your I depth tutorials. I’ll probably need to strip the shellac etc. I’m from N.Z.

I love the start to finish projects, but I also love the individual videos of specific treatments. It’s nice to be able to search for a video of a color combo, waxing technique, etc. I learn something new from almost every video even though I have done numerous pieces myself. Thank-you!

I like the start to finish video series. I appreciate the process it takes to make a piece so beautiful. The glide waxing and drawer oiling was great information. And the new lighting looked good.

This woman is freaking amazing. I love chippy and farmhouse look as I am from the South, but these looks are gorgeous too. I would go broke buying Dixie Belle but I also like my Junk Monkey paint. I really love them both.

I bought the $3(8 oz) sample Behr paint from HD, added diotamaceous earth and it made a beautiful chalk paint. 8oz latex paint, 2 TBL spoons of chalk, 1 1 /2 TBL spoon water. I made a paste with the water and just poured in can and shook up. I painted 3 pieces and mixed colors as I went along, I'm loving them all. Dixie products are great I'm sure and I'm definitely getting various things like the waxes but get started on a budget.

I stamp directly on the wood. Normally on the back of the piece or inside one of the drawers.

I just found your channel and I loved this series. You're a great teacher! I enjoy upholstering furniture and love the process you go through when choosing your paints. What is your process of deciding how much to charge for such detailed work?

I liked the start to finish. Bought my first stash of Dixie Belle. I’m overly excited!
I also like that you listing all the colors and glaze names so I can choose more easily the effects I can expect! You are so inspiring and your end products are so finished!!
I liked how you explained the finishing step s. Is there a video on tips on juggling your multiple brushes while painting? Sounds silly, but my first go around my brush started drying while I was painting and got a dark blue paint stain around it. Many washes later I got it out. I’m just thinking with one in each can they’re going to began to get hard before you pick it up again for the next section.

You can soak your crusty brushes in white lightning to clean old paint. Can store in ziploc bags in between using as well
