I always find it funny people saying they didnt expect this from Ireland. Catholicism aside (which is not as popular anymore) we have a history of paganism, Hallowe'en has origins here and we created dracula! We've always been a bit dark
@EmmaKiely That IS true! I guess it's still a somewhat stereotype of Ireland. I've watched alot of Jacksepticeye back in the day and he used to talk about how religion was a focus in ireland when he was a kid! But I never really looked up anything more about it since! I did not know about Dracula thata dope. Always loved Ireland 💚
@@LocalEClown_Music We were a Celtic pagan country before the arrival of Christianity, We still have alot of symbolism and folklore that is related to our druidic past. A lot of us are raised hearing stories and things from that time period look at the Bealtine festival or Samhain what you would call Halloween both are festivals that originate in this time. Some of us take pride in that part of our culture in this there are alot of symbols like the triskele and various Celtic knots.
Best staging ever in ESC history! Firs time ever I was surprised, amazed and caught off guard, as I had no idea how they would stage this - and every little detail was 100% on point! The interaction Bambie has with the camera is some of the best in Eurovision history, and the transitions between pop and metal are amazingly executed. And keeping up the vocals as well as she did at the same time was amazing as well! This was by far the most original song of the year. I still believe thay the winning song had a better storyline, but I would have loved for Ireland to have come top 3 this yearat least. Switzerland, Ireland and Norway should have been the top3.
Not surprising taking in consideration their dark side. But god damn i am still thinking of this performance and im glad from what i read that was voted for the best staging ever
Ireland used to be very Catholic, not Christian. And the Catholics really hated this song. Apparently they sent in a protest list trying to stop Bambie Thug from representing Ireland. 😆
Catholic is a form of Christianity. It’s still considered the spread of Christianity to our pagan shores and calling paganism as satanic was an easy was to discredit pagan views.
@@LocalEClown_Music have you been to Ireland recently? Church-going numbers are less than 20%. Vast majority of people have very little respect for the church. We passed marriage equality in a referendum with 68% for. This isn't a very Christian country. It has a legacy of Catholicism. You are wrong.
Well that's because those in black cloth abused kids and then some people hating on bambie coz they are in black 😂😂 Irish is still very catholic just not AS and I don't blame them after all the scandels and the way they were treated in Madeline laundries and their kids taking off them 😢 ps bambie thug is the new Irish lady ga ga I love they're song love bites such a different contrast to doomsday blue
@@tonyttt31 Totally agree. And I love that in this performance Bambie is channelling our pagan past, pre-Christianity and bringing it into modernity. Irish people will generally identify as catholic but they don't really practice it, as you say, and it's not really a relevant part of our lives, but I think some small 'positives' stick with Irish people - they are generous and kind, giving and happy to make sacrifices for others. So yea, catholicism and the church are just not relevant to very much any more.
I agree, however, many of us are still very spiritual though, just ask any Irish person. They will tell you they don't feel the need to go to mass/church, one can watch your local church online, in most places, so we have not lost our religion, we are still very spiritual.
Now that's how you stand out from the rest of the other performers. Amazing
Ireland made history in ESC.
Staging was totally out of this world.
4:11 we may be “christian” but always remember we were pagan first.

@@LocalEClown_MusicBram Stoker was from Dublin. We’re reared on stories from our pagan past!

Many of the “horror” tropes and tails originated from this lil island. Our history is insanely rich and complex.

Great reaction guys, thank you both
You're absolutely spot on from a fellow irishman
Voted as the best produced staging on the Eurovision stage ever.
And don't mess paganism and satanism, that's two different things.
Goosebumps!
this is one of the best performances at eurovision this year! you need to do switzerlands or Croatias there are next best ones!!
yes! Switzerland is coming out in the next few days! Ive been posting them once a day. Croatia too!
@@LocalEClown_Music ok can wait to see ur guys reaction
Not just this year.
@@tonyttt31 I know those were the ones that came to my mind frist.
Ireland dammmm
Amazing they shud have won a star is born 🎉🎉🎉
theres a common misconception that our song was satanic but it was inspired by the pagan history of Ireland and Bambi herself is pagan i believe

Clap Clap 🎉
I watch this still amazing

Ireland is no longer a very Christian country.
oh really? I thought I heard something like 80% of the country conciders themselves very catholic or something? Maybe I'm wrong 😅
