The earlier years where better, because it was purely on the song and the voice, now a days they cover up their mediocre singing voices with screams while prancing about in underwear trying to make the performance sexual, like who wants to see males touching themselves, they need the shock element to draw people away from the fact it has shitty lyrics, sung by a second rate singer with zero talent

I remember when this was first a possibility for Eurovision and everyone HATED it and made fun of it, glad the vision came together - the performance is great.
I'm biased as I'm Irish but people were also so, so done with the loneliness and negativity of us only qualifying once since 2013. That's why I am so excited now, my blood keeps racing because this is so my genre of music hard pop ('ouija' pop she/they call it) but honestly we never ,ever in Ireland expected to be taken seriously again and its happening for real !! I am just in disbelief

I’m so glad Bambie stepped up and brought this to us to select in February at national final, I was so excited and relieved that something with such artistic depth was on the table. I watched them first when they won in Ireland. They were by far the best but I wasn't 💯 sold on them. After reading the lyrics (brilliant) and seeing the semi's, I'm in love and have watched it over and over. They're an incredibly talented performer and this song just grows and grows on you. 🥰
What a glow up, the staging, angles etc are all designed by bambie and their team, with very talented camera people being able to execute it to perfection. Bambie and the Irish broadcaster have a limited budget but just with intensity, acting, vocals, LED and camera work it looks high budget 👏🏻😊
they had that for rehearsal but sadly had to take it off for this performance due to eurovision rules :( so they changed it to “crown the witch” i think

I'm 55 and though my favourite band has always been Coil I watched over 40 ESCs. Never seen such a powerfull, intense act before in the ESC . 12 points and lots of love from Belgium for Bambie. I really hope the witch get crowned.

That's the astonishing thing. Bambie, their dancer and the creative director came up with every idea here, every image, every visualisation, every camera cut, and perfected it all during a period when Bambie was traveling around Europe doing pre-party apparencies.

@@kittyo4832 it doesn't translate to that, it translates to "may you have a thousand goodnesses", basically wishing the person 1000 good things to happen to them for whatever they did that you're thanking them for. Makes little sense when translated directly like that but Irish(Gaeilge) is an ancient language(one of the oldest in the world) that is very poetic, descriptive and emotive. As a result you need to consult an Irish speaker like myself for a translation on phrases like that one that are as old as the language itself and have no modern language equivalent to refer to. There's a more regular version of that phrase which is "go raibh maith agat" which is the same thing divided by 1000 basically haha 🙈🤣 "go raibh míle maith agat" is like the Irish equivalent of saying in English *thanks a million ".
Stunning performance! I love their make up: the Celtic spirals on their forehead/the metalwork on their costume and the ogham writing down their face. Never seen that before, very cool. Also, love your idea of the nest. My “reach” interpretation was that they were invoking the Morrigan with crow feathers.
Tommy i honestly was looking out for your views after Tuesday !! From a total outsider, to one of the greatest stagings of any performances in many, many years. Chilling, compelling and provocative, many peoole are calling it one of the best hard rock type songs ever at the contest.
I’m graduating with a Tv and film set design degree this summer and clips like this get me so excited to start working in the industry. Serious props to the graphics and camera guys. Thanks for showing the importance of a good film crew.
Never heard of Bambie Thug before ESC but I quite dig this. They also did a very powerful cover of the Cranberries' Zombie on the Eurovision channel that I'd definitely recommend checking out.

The camera work, both of them performing, all perfect!!! Sadly Eurovision is a touch behind the times and when it comes to Jury votes I don't think this will get the credit it deserves and there are other great songs, if EVERYONE could vote in the rest of the world vote it would be amazing!!! I watched them first when they won in Ireland. They were by far the best but I wasn't 💯 sold on them. After reading the lyrics (brilliant) and seeing the semi's, I'm in love and have watched it over and over. They're an incredibly talented performer and this song just grows and grows on you. 🥰

What a glow up, the staging, angles etc are all designed by bambie and their team, with very talented camera people being able to execute it to perfection. Bambie and the Irish broadcaster have a limited budget but just with intensity, acting, vocals, LED and camera work it looks high budget 👏🏻😊

That's the astonishing thing. Bambie, their dancer and the creative director came up with every idea here, every image, every visualisation, every camera cut, and perfected it all during a period when Bambie was traveling around Europe doing pre-party apparencies.

@@kittyo4832 it doesn't translate to that, it translates to "may you have a thousand goodnesses", basically wishing the person 1000 good things to happen to them for whatever they did that you're thanking them for. Makes little sense when translated directly like that but Irish(Gaeilge) is an ancient language(one of the oldest in the world) that is very poetic, descriptive and emotive. As a result you need to consult an Irish speaker like myself for a translation on phrases like that one that are as old as the language itself and have no modern language equivalent to refer to. There's a more regular version of that phrase which is "go raibh maith agat" which is the same thing divided by 1000 basically haha 🙈🤣 "go raibh míle maith agat" is like the Irish equivalent of saying in English *thanks a million ".

Anyone that says this is not Irish doesn't know our history. We were a pagan people and yes Halloween was from Ireland. long before the fiddle and whistle music which is also fantastic.
