What is haunting me at night and day is that this easily exceeds everything people considered a Eurovision performance before - Bambie is setting new standards that will change Eurovision for decades to come. Of course "Doomsday Blue" works as a song and is travelling through an insane amount of genres and Bambie's vocals are on point no matter if they're dancing ballet or defeating the toxic boyfriend with an inferno of screams and in the middle of a firestorm, but the one aspect that makes me crazy in the most positive way is that this show has cinematic qualities and almost feels like a movie! While other contestants are satisfied with simply singing a song or repeating the same dance breaks over and over again, Bambie is combining all existing types of art to create a mesmerizing mélange of genreless dark art, theatrical drama, elegiac dance and visual grandeur... If someone would have told me before, I wouldn't have believed that such a performance is even possible. But what becomes clear is that you just need the right creative people in the right place to make history! I have never seen something like this before: Bambie will rise from an independent artist to a world star.😍 And I couldn't be happier because we share the same dreams and values! The earlier years where better, because it was purely on the song and the voice, now a days they cover up their mediocre singing voices with screams while prancing about in underwear trying to make the performance sexual, like who wants to see males touching themselves, they need the shock element to draw people away from the fact it has shitty lyrics, sung by a second rate singer with zero talent
I said the same thing. Norway is my favorite song, but Bambie is a close second because this is hands-down the best performance I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Every millisecond of every shot is immaculate.
They studied musical theater, which I think helped a ton on creating such good visuals :D

Same here, possibly one of the best Eurovision performances we've ever produced IMO. (Also as Wolff pointed out; props to the camera crew and dancer (also whoever designed the staging for this. They definitely earned their fees) Plus cool to see someone representing Ireland who is spooky af because our folklore and stuff really does lend itself to the spooks B)

I'm biased as I'm Irish but people were also so, so done with the loneliness and negativity of us only qualifying once since 2013. That's why I am so excited now, my blood keeps racing because this is so my genre of music hard pop ('ouija' pop she/they call it) but honestly we never ,ever in Ireland expected to be taken seriously again and its happening for real !! I am just in disbelief

Bambie's own creative team put together everything : the camerawork, lighting, props, graphics on the LED screen etc. This is why it's head and shoulders the best staged entry this year.

I’m so glad Bambie stepped up and brought this to us to select in February at national final, I was so excited and relieved that something with such artistic depth was on the table. I’m so glad now they’ve been afforded the stage they clearly deserve. Pretty sure winning is out of the question on Saturday but doesn’t matter, I hope Bambie does great things from here on out. @@kittyo4832 it doesn't translate to that, it translates to "may you have a thousand goodnesses", basically wishing the person 1000 good things to happen to them for whatever they did that you're thanking them for. Makes little sense when translated directly like that but Irish(Gaeilge) is an ancient language(one of the oldest in the world) that is very poetic, descriptive and emotive. As a result you need to consult an Irish speaker like myself for a translation on phrases like that one that are as old as the language itself and have no modern language equivalent to refer to. There's a more regular version of that phrase which is "go raibh maith agat" which is the same thing divided by 1000 basically haha 🙈🤣 "go raibh míle maith agat" is like the Irish equivalent of saying in English *thanks a million ".

What a glow up, the staging, angles etc are all designed by bambie and their team, with very talented camera people being able to execute it to perfection. Bambie and the Irish broadcaster have a limited budget but just with intensity, acting, vocals, LED and camera work it looks high budget 👏🏻😊

Oh wow! Of course. I sadly only noticed their nails when it was mentioned here. I didn't make the connection but it makes perfect sense now. I remember taking part in a protest in 2014 when Israel (once again) launched another deadly assault and a group of Palestinian/Irish carried a giant key. I'm afraid I had to ask about the symbolism of it. Clever of Bambi. Apparently they wanted to spell 'ceasefire' in the ogham writing on their body but were stopped. There were a couple of other very good acts and I swear to God, if Israel win, with a song that was 💯 political, I won't believe it wasn't fixed and I won't believe it's not coincidental that the main sponsor (Moroccanoil) is an Israeli company who's on the BDS list. Not a conspiracy theorist at all but I don't think people realise how much influence the Israeli govt has outside of their own country. 🤷🏻♀️

Also that Italy leaked percentage is so weird. People are thinking that 40% of Italians voted for Israel and the Odds are going crazy. There are a lot of people saying they will vote for Israel now. Our only hope is the jury, I want to think that they as artists won't support Israel, but I am not so sure :\
