Very nice to hear a vocal coach compliment Bambie, the performance overshadows how epic the vocal is. I’m glad that you understood the narrative of the staging instead of just going down the “satanic” route like many. Australia’s jury ranked this in first place!
I feel exactly the same away, most so called vocal coaches focused on what seemed to be satanic to them, totally acting out of ignorance and just promoting a certain disrespect to bambie's amazing performance. Definitely one of the best performances ever in the history of the eurovision.
Australia and Ireland share similar cultural qualities, so Australia voting for Bambie makes sense.

Bambie was studying ballet until an injury happened and they transferred to a theatrical performance course, then started singing and songwriting and also plays piano as can be seen in the intimate performance video of 'Doomsday Blue' done live on RTE TV
this explains so much ❤ I was captivated by the lyricism not just in the incredible and versatile vocal performance but in the movement of the arms, so fluid and sinuous and just gorgeous ❤
Mad similarities to Royal and the Serpent tbh. Both i also pegged as "I bet they did ballet" on seeing them perform too. It really shows!
I don't know how much people know about Irish singing, they are very accomplished, they learn opera styles where you sing for clarity without any reverb.

That performance has raised the bar for Eurovision staging and the illustrating of a song.
A recipe for winning Eurovision doesn't exist, but one constant seems to be that presentation of the song should match the song - the better the two match, the higher your chances... and holy hell did presentation match this song! :D

The staging and camera work were epic too. Bambi is from cork which is a very lyrical accent. They trained as a ballet dancer. They also co wrote the song. Love will always triumphs hate - im all for that

Bambie was giving us Maleficent while conjuring the monster-boyfriend. The changes in lighting accompanied the change in music genre, changing the appearance of the performers. And something even more rare: they didn't try to merely copy their music video on stage, they came up with a completely new performance that nevertheless captured the essence of the music video. And, Thank You for offering us insight into the actual vocal techniques being used. It shows just what actually went into this performance.
I find so many people's … reactions … to Doomsday Blue to be nothing but concentrated, distilled hatred, and utterly disrespectful. Having you, an expert in singing, show us what lies behind a performance like this is so refreshing.

they are a former ballerina by the way! personally i love the attention Bambie is getting because their performance was definitely top notch.
As a sound engineer myself on the desk we can add effect into the vocals which can be controlled from the sound desk and mic position is critical but she has a brilliant voice

A performance that I’ll never forget she’s so accomplished in every way, so many people just didn’t get her wonderful art, she represents everyone who has been excluded and I absolutely love her for that, she’s iconic and I hope she’s going to get good management who will look after her properly and bring out her wonderful creativity.

So happy to see someone actually appreciate this song, they did an amazing performance and people are judging them because the song is too "satanic" and "inappropriate", l was watching a different reaction to it on youtube by a vocal coach l think and the person reacting literally said "think of the children watching" and complained the whole time that they shouldn't have made a song like that instead of commenting on how amazing they did, it honestly just pissed me off.
When they were making the official video for Doomsday Blue, they intended for it to be a lot darker. But then they found out that a lot of children liked the song and were listening to it so they changed it to be lighter (i.e. the "candyland" scenes).
Their art is everything in this performance! All of that training led to this; thanks so much for this analysis (I got chills too)!

The vocal effects on the “I, I, I know you’re living a lie” etc, were actually added to the stream but not the live vocals. So, in audience perspective videos, you can hear them sing those parts more clearly

As some further info to help with separating out the vocals going on, eurovision has a rule where the main vocals must be sung live and without effect. So Bambie is most likely singing live with their other vocal tracks as backing. That they can manage this so seamlessly on broadcast TV amazed me.

I cried when I first saw this. I don't usually dig this aesthetic and it's off-putting to me, not because of the religion stuff, but I always see "witches" as attention seeking people, but Bambie fucking brought it on another level. What a singer, what a performer and above everything, what a human! I'm literally enchanted. I could literally sense they're not fake, but a true, true artist. This wasn't for the shock, this was pure art, astounding singing, astounding stage interpretation of the song... I don't have more words to praise them and their crew for this. Thank you, Ireland, thank you Bambie! 🖤

Re-watching this performance just gives me goosebumbs. Every f*ing time. Just...wow! They really were the best! And this voice coach confirms what I had already thought and seen: there is so much control and technique in het voice , and the whole performance is absolute perfection.
Pleeeease do Gåte from norway. She uses an old sining teq called "kulning" witch is an old form of herding call used in scandinavia.
Bambie sang that whole song with a grille on their teeth that spelled out their name, which makes it so impressive to me along with literally everything else
