    Hey Dave, good video on back hoe removal. You explained it well! If you expand your box on the back to haul wood then copy how Mike hauls his saw. Good idea and you haul more wood too. Might try to tune in tomorrow and watch you guys.

    Another Great one Dave , I’m getting to the good stuff. I own a sawmill and did my own logging and I like the way you do things . I have a 3 point skidding winch, I used for logging, it had a bar on each side I would hang my saws from . That winch made getting logs out easy . I had it mounted to a Case international 485 4x4 . Great tractor , I had it for 18 years. It was 45 hp and never let me down. I recently upgraded to LS Xu6158. About the same size tractor but 68 hp. LS is a great tractor! If you would like to try the winch on your tractor, contact me , I’d love to see it in action!

      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  5 років тому

      David Deaton thanks! I have a few videos with a little sawmill action, that is always a blast! Nothing like taking a tree from the woods and making usable lumber from it!! That winch sounds nice, I’m sure it is handy and I appreciate the offer! Glad to hear you have an LS as well :) I sure enjoy mine! When I was shopping around the LS definitely seemed like to most tractor for the buck! Thanks for following along, take care my friend!

    I recently subscribed for the LS tractor videos. This is the model I am interested in but the dealer near me I have heard poor things about so I don't think I would have good dealer support. I am also considering kubota and JD 33hp tractors. Keep up the LS vids, there aren't very many of them out there.

      minigrowl thank you! I hope you enjoy them :) yes that could be an issue if the dealer wasn’t supportive! I would like to hope I don’t ever really need my dealer but if I did, I would like to know I could count on them! Good luck on your search, if you have any questions about it feel free to ask, I’d try to help! Take care!

    I use something called sawhaul on my ROPS for my Stihl 021, i had to also use a bar sheath (like out of a chainsaw case) to control the saw a little better from flopping around instead of buy two sawhaul brackets..

    Congrats on the 500 sub milestone. I have a question about LS tractor why did you go with the XR3135 and did you have any thoughts on XG3140 as far as the tail of the paper on the 2 tractors they are very close even on front loader capabilities and I believe PTO lift cap also just XR is more loaded package wise? I have been looking at XG 3140 Very hard it's a bit lighter than XR 3135 Model by 360+ lbs which is good I only have 1/2ton trucks my 2015 will haul both but XG with third function and rear Remotes added is going to my first tractor in March if all goes well. Thanks for sharing your time and experiencs, my family enjoys watching your channel.

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  6 років тому +1

      That’s a great question! Really I didn’t look to far into it and I can’t really remember all the reasons. Some of the things I remember is the loader control location on the XR was fender mount, extendable three point, rear three point control “ so you can raise and lower from behind the tractor” and the extra remote. Another thing that I remember him stating was the XR was build for heavier applications. I don’t think that’s any issue but maybe the gram is slightly different, could be the added weight difference? I’m not sure! But the technical comparisons weren’t what made me pick the XR it was the convenience options that the XR came with is what sold me on it! Either way which ever route you go I’m sure you will be satisfied with it. I’ve been getting some comments about a few people having bad luck with them but I dont know of any brand of tractor that doesn’t have some horror stories associated with a few of them! So far I’m very satisfied with mine, I feel like I’ve got a lot of tractor for a fair price! Hope this helped! Take care :)

      @@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm Thanks for replying I'm in Monterrey Mexico for work going through videos charts and tractor spec's after we get back to the hotel because there's nothing else to do lol. Yes the XG with the 35hp has lower loader lift and PTO capabilities its more of a lighter work tractor but the XG3140 has fender mounted loader joystick its like the economy work horse medium use tractor with a good price tag .I wanted a loader to lift 2100lbs because I plan on getting the 3rd function valve kit so I can get a stump grapple and root grapple our land has so much work to be done. We have several tractor dealers 30min from our house here's a few Case , LS, John Deere, and a Kubota , but I think Kubota requires people to bring a winch cable to drag out a salesman to the lot they're absolutely no help at that place it's a joke. I feel the tractor is one factor but the service department is why most people bash certain tractor brands. I have see the big boys mess up some green colored tractor were I live so it's not all the manufacturer fault. Thanks again

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  6 років тому +1

      I think you found your tractor buddy! If it has the capabilities and features you are looking for at the price the fits your budget, sounds like a good fit. My thoughts on the quality of LS is that if new Holland trust them to make their boomer and work master series tractors they must have a descent track record for quality and machining. The one thing that killed me wanting a Kubota or JD..... Beside the price is the specs and capabilities are lower! I wasn’t wanting to pay more for a less capable, narrower, lighter tractor! So the LS won me over. Good luck with the search, take care!

    I am looking at this exact same tractor. Only thing I have ever heard about theses tractors are the regen process. Have you had any issues with that?

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  5 років тому +1

      deuce and a half, thanks for watching! I have nothing negative to say about mine. With the LS engine being in the 31-41 series tractors the regen isn’t as frequent as in the 30-40 series. I had my first regen at 49 hours and everything went smooth and as expected, only lasting about 8 minutes! I know there are a few bad videos out about these tractors but I feel if you search for issues with any machine you will find them! Overall I am extremely satisfied with my LS. Take care!

    Have you thought about building a cradle for the backhoe when storing so actuators don't let it settle? I've been looking into making one for mine which is like yours with the subframe. Would like some ideas. I used cinder blocks last time but it still settled some.

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  4 роки тому

      I have thought of making something but I usually extend it all out and place a steel slab under the center and let it set down on it. Simple and supports it! One thing to note is make sure the bucket is curled in, I made the mistake one time of leaving it out a bit and it did settle and rolled to pressed my steel out on the barn 🙄 haha. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Dave, check out [ stuntcardriver ]. He has a Johm Deere like mine. He made a holster type carrier out of plywood. Pretty neat. Also outdoor with the morgans Mike made a firewood carrier for 3 point hitch with a holster type chainsaw carrier mounted on the side. I thought his was really cool and inexpensive. Check his site out too. If i can find it I'll share it with you. Take care Dave.

      Which tractor do you have? Did you happen to engage any of the hydraulic detent valves? I’ve had air in the lines before and caused a slight squeal sound but went away shortly after. Do you have any more details? Hope you had figured it out, sorry for the late reply, take care!

      Ohio Hill Tops Hobby Farm I got the high pitch sound to stop after I connected the hoses for the backhoe together. Still won’t raise or lower. Where could I find the detent valve ? I operated the bucket loader works fine with high pitch noise and after I connected hoses together for backhoe after I swapped out one of the 2 female fittings to a male fitting to connect the hydrolic lines
