I had a lot of fun making this video, it's nice to share something that people might not know about watching a run here and there. All the tech and lingo
So I was on the highway trying to get home in time to watch the stream yesterday... traffic was grid lock. Then all of a sudden I'm smoked from behind by another car, we both get out to look at the damage, buddy's all like oh man can we not involve insurance, I'm like well who's gonna fix it? He says not to worry because he's a body repair professional and he can do all the work himself and he'd just have to pay for the parts, so that's when I asked how much the parts would cost....that's when he says...bout tree fiddy......
Just my humble opinion no hate I loved the video great work as always, I think when you mentioned mfp tunnel, it would of also been nice to say what it stood for I sent this to a friend who asked me after watching it :), don't know if it would of been weird to ref your self in 3rd person tho.
0:36 - its only called an "MFP Tunnel" if you make a 'weeooo!' sound as you fall through it...if you miss that step, there is a backup strat (just called "Tunnel"), but thats a very important player-generated audio cue to time your inputs with...
I'm not even into speedrunning that much and still watch you because you're my favorite Mario 3 content creator by far. This was super cool and you're doing god's work with spreading the hobby to people like me.
When I first started watching you and others run the game, I was wondering about certain terminology, like movement of 2, 3, etc. Having something like this for newer players who may not understand the terminology is awesome. Love the video!
Your content is my main motivator for sticking with SMB3. You make it so fun and welcoming to everyone. That’s not something I take for granted in speedrunning ! 😊
This was a super interesting video. Getting to hear the finest details on the speedrun tech clears up the few questions I've had watching your runs the past 2 years. Also I would like to say that the thumbnail is really creative and caught my attention immediately
I have no idea what hes talking about when hes talking about sub pixels.......but I LOVE hearing about it.......it seems like frames to a fighting game player which I'm VERY familiar with....if people dont know what your talking about ....they dont know what your talking about
He didn't speak about Claudio, Ronnie&Ronda, poop block or eating pizza with fork and knife. I'm sad By the way I think it would be cool to have a tutorial video on how to airwalk or other swag strats that don't save time .
Have you asked Retro game mechanics UA-camr about the no hands RNG? He knows how the code for these games works, he may be able to figure out how to beat the hands.
I think we know how the hands work, but the manipulation is too complex for a human to do. If I remember correctly, it begins at power-on of the console. It’s simply too much, at least with the knowledge and strats we have now.
You have a good way to teach out interesting stuff like this. You should make more of the other Mario games, but I am not aware of how much you are experienced with other games. But good stuff, nontheless!
thats not how statistics stack on world 8. Each hand level has its own 50% chance, they aren't dependent on one another. So with each always having a 50% chance, there is not a 12.5% chance of no hands. The math is much different, you don't just do 50%/2 for 25%/2 for 12.5%
Not trying to be mean, but you are incorrect. Yes, they are independent of one another, but the math is that easy. Before you start the hands, you have a 12.5% chance of getting 0/3 hands. The percentages chance after each hand. After the 1st hand, you either got it and have a 0% chance of no hands, or you skipped and have a 25% of no hands. If you skip the first 2 hands, you then are up to a 50% chance of no hands, but of course if either or both of the first 2 hands got you, you have a 0% chance of no hands.
The calculation was correct. Go review your intro to stats notes. The probability of a series of independent events occurring is calculated by multiplying their individual probabilities. Your comment has it exactly wrong.

It would be cool to see more about how those subpixel manips work, and why they are necessary to set up later clips, etc.
I did not know that Runaway Bro was a specific bro, I thought it was just a catch-all term for every bro that has annoying movement.

@@Kavinicus1 You too man! Just been busy with wedding planning and dipping into console mods/repairs a bit.
"This is called Jesus clip, and don't ever ask me about it again" .... I feel personally attacked lol
They call me Runaway Bro because I shirk my responsibilities.
is that so?

I wish you mentioned the pipe glitch and the delag strat, but maybe who knows next time.
Well yea, that clears everything up.Thanks! This is going to be perfect casual conversation on my next date.
Definitely this is the type of video I needed so I can show it to my relatives & they will understand me for once ♥ -Shar
Fascinating content you've been putting out lately. Enjoying all of this new content. Hope it keeps on coming. Learning a lot, fr.

Glad you enjoyed it! what else would you want to see?
Great video man, looking forward to the next video on routing! Loving the uploads here ❤
Thanks this really covered a bunch of stuff I was wondering about!!!
World 6's first Toad House has a hammer suit in the All Stars version. Does that make All Stars any better for running?

Loving all this educational content dude!
The only thing in this one that I didn't know was _how_ you do pipe to pipe.
5:25 Nice.
Good stuff.
Very cool Mitch! Thanks for making the vid
Gracias, quería empezar a jugar Mario 3 y hacer transmisión
Wouldn't it be cool if they stuck one of the warp whistles in worlds other than 1 instead?
Can y’all just start calling it the NICE! Wall Jump please?
When your buddy asks to show you the pipe to pipe trick
Whats the intro background song
We figured that out when we were 8...Just sayin' Yassss bitches 07:53 Awesome point .
Interesting video, but where's the 7-7 clip of 7-9 clip or world 2 down box....You really have a super knowledge about smb3 its crazy.
Learned nothing since I watch you on twitch but have a subscription
First time actually knowing all the stuff lol
Awesome video, loving the content keep it up!!
There are infinite secrets in super Mario bros 3 alot of people really need to replay this and find out all the secrets

i like learning about tech, even if it's not useful, so i agree

Great video, thanks Mitch 😎
"putting hammer brothers to sleep"... That sounds wrong and sad. (Even though you'd kill them anyways😂)
This video is perfect!
Whadabout 7-9 clips? 👀👀
I won't ever ask again, but why in the world did they call that one clip the Jesus clip?
Mitch said that he is not 100% secure but it's named that way probably because Ir You fail it, You die
Bro do you even read the Bible?
