You would be right, if Your expression "any man" could be applied here!
That is simply not the case!
HE was prophecied in the Torah quite often!
      Some examples:
      Isaiah 7:14
      Isaiah 61:1
      Micah 5:2
      Psalm 16:9-11
      Isaiah 53
...and many more passages in the Torah!
What You are trying to do here is sophistry!
You know perfectly, that noone is worshipping "men",
You know perfectly that Your argumentation is lofty,
You know perfectly that You are stuck in some sort of obsessive stubbornness!
      But You know what?
      I couldn't care less!
The rest is up to You!
      Shalom Aleichem and good luck.

you misunderstand, it is what he explained, this is not something jews do. we do not convince other religions to convert to judaism or believe our religion, which is why he kept apologising to the non-jews in the audience, his issue is that people like d brown and synically tricking naive jews to abandon their religion and unique relationship with God which they have had for almost 4000 years. It is comforting however that this is all part of God's plan that the jews will have a period of sin and exile where some will serve idols of wood as in deut 28, and the rabbi is trying to help the jews get onto the next stage of God's plan which is deut. chap 30 where they repent.

@@scosoexterior9125 please read my previous comment on how jewish law and philosophy applies to our reltionship with non-jews. judaism is the only religion which says that you dont have to be jewish to go to heaven/afterlife or trascend. we believe that God simply has different jobs for manking and all have a place in the world to come, as long as we do our job, irrespective of jew or non-jew. the laws are much more stringent and specific in relation to jews, and as such this rabbi didnt want to come off as preaching to the non-jews as for them it would be enough to have basic morals and belief in one God, whereas for a jew there are much more demands in respect of our fundamental beliefs.

I get that but don’t you see how the Jews have this truth but sit alone and don’t reach out? They don’t spread the truth or try to convert the world. I am a gentile and I love Torah but no Jew ever taught me or evangelized me. I currently live in Jerusalem and Jews could give two cares about teaching a gentile.
The Jews are supposed to be the ones to bridge the world but instead just let it do it’s own thing.
This Rabbi states that he has one purpose, reach out to the vexed Jews. He said it how most Jews think.

Yes! I've seen the rise of antisemitism everywhere lately and have tried to defend the Jewish people and Israel to the best of my ability. In doing so, I realized that I really need to learn more, but I come across this exact attitude over and over. I understand the philosophy Mindhumble was talking about but it makes that defending massively difficult.
What I really don't understand is that they say Israel (as a people, the Jewish as I understand )is supposed to be a light to the world, but how can that be if most don't care to share the love of God with others? I honestly think that it's this exact philosophy and the dismissivness as shown by this Rabbi that leads so many people to actually believe all those anti Jewish conspiracy theories.

If idolatry makes God angry and man was created in his image shouldn't we become angry ourselves? Isn't this the meaning of man becoming more God like? If that is so then why don't it simply say kosher fish must have scales. ONE answer is that from these two verses you can derive what defines "scales". If this proof doesn't 'stackup' it could be because the modern world is using different words for fins and scales and defines them differently.

The Tanakh and the commandments became the rabbis talking points. Nine commandments are repeated in the NT but no command to keep the 7th day is given. There is command to not judge others in meat, drink or day so Jews can keep the traditions but not judge others. The rabbi uses the false assumptions of Christians have a license to sin. He is lying to others and to himself, we are chastened on this earth as a father chastens a son. He says he keeps Torah but that is another lie. For example, no synagogues stone people for breaking sabbath, put to death for picking up sticks, or killing their children for dishonoring their parents. The Torah has 612 commands but the NT has 1050 commands given to believers, hardly a license to sin. Adultry is to look at another and murder is to be made at a brother for no reason. 11for he who greets him shares in his wicked works.
      John 7:16-17
16 ¶ Y’shua answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
17 "If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from Elohim or whether I speak on My own authority.
      Pslam 40:8
I delight to do Your will my Elohim Your Torah is within my Heart
      John 14:15
If you love Me keep My commandments
      John 15:14
You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
      Matthew 23:1-3
¶ Then Y’shua( Messiah ) spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples,
2 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
      ( preaching & teaching the Torah )
3 "Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that OBSERVE and DO, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
      Acts 15:19-21
19“Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the gentiles who are turning to Elohim,
20but that we write to them to abstain from the defilements of idols, and from whoring, and from what is strangled, and from blood.
21“For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him - being read in the congregations every Sabbath.”
( So they would go every sabbath and learn how to walk like Messiah by walking out the Torah by the set apart Spirit )
      James 1:22
22And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror,
24for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like.
25But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah.
      1 John 2:3-7
3And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands.
4The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.
7Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.
The Word from the beginning is the Torah and prophets
      Revelation 12:9-17
9And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him.
10And I heard a loud voice saying in the heaven, “Now have come the deliverance and the power and the reign of our Elohim, and the authority of His Messiah, for the accuser of our brothers, who accused them before our Elohim day and night, has been thrown down.
11“And they overcame him because of the Blood of the Lamb, and because of the Word of their witness, and they did not love their lives to the death.
12“Because of this rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has little time.”
13And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
14And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
15And out of his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, to cause her to be swept away by the river.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
17And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע ( YaHUsha ) Messiah.
      ◄ 2 Thessalonians 2 ►
      The Scriptures (ISR 1998)
1As to the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, brothers,
2not to become easily unsettled in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as if the day of יהוה has come.
3Let no one deceive you in any way, because the falling away is to come first, and the man of lawlessnessa is to be revealed, the son of destruction,
4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Elohim or that is worshipped, so that he sits as Elohim in the Dwelling Place of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim.
5Do you not remember that I told you this while I was still with you?
6And now you know what restrains, for him to be revealed in his time.
7For the secret of lawlessness is already at work - only until he who now restrains comes out of the midst.
8And then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Master shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth and bring to naught with the manifestation of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood,
10and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the TRUTH, in order for them to be saved.
      🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WHAT IS TRUTH BIBLICAL TRUTH -
      Psalms 119:142
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness and Your Torah is the truth

And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.
      John 17:17

11And for this reason Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood,
12in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.
      🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Unrighteousness is the opposite of righteousness and we serve the Most High who does not change Malachi 3:6 and Messiah who does not change Hebrews 13:8

      1 John 3:7
Do not be deceived my little children, for he who practices righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous
      Psalms 119:142
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness and Your Torah is the truth
Seek ye first the kingdom of Elohim and His righteousness and all other things will be added on

13But we ought to give thanks to Elohim always for you, brothers, beloved by the Master, because Elohim from the beginning chose you to be saved - in set-apartness of Spirit, and belief in the truth -
14unto which He called you by our Good News, for the obtaining of the esteem of our Master יהושע ( YaHUsha ) Messiah.
15So, then, brothers, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or by our letter.
16And our Master יהושע ( YaHUsha ) Messiah Himself, and our Elohim and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good expectation, through favour,

Jehovah...It is widely used. It is considered by many to be hallowed, and it is also endeared by many as a beautiful hymn, however, this name was never revealed by God. The name “Jehovah” is a concoction of man. Therefore, it is a “mongrel,” a “hybrid;” and it is “fantastic” and “monstrous.” There is something very wrong with this euphonious name. The facts have only to be known to justify this verdict. What are the facts? Ever since the Babylonian invasion of Judea and the enforced diaspora of its people in 605 B.C., the Jews have a strong penchant for hiding the name of God from the Gentiles, and thus preventing the profaning of God’s revealed name. Later, the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages was known to raid Jewish synagogues, take the gold, and the Hebrew Scriptures [the Old Testament], and persecute Jews. The name and pronunciation of “Jehovah,” (and also the name Jesus) were unknown until 1520 A.D. when introduced and propagated by Peter Galatinus, Confessor to Pope Leo X, who noted in the stolen Hebrew Scriptures that there were Hebrew vowels placed onto the four consonants letters of God’s true name, YHWH [pronounced: Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey]. Peter Galatinus (1450-1540) did not know of the Jewish practice of placing vowels from another word, (accordingly one of the following words: Adonai {YaHoWaH}, Eloah {YeHoWaH}, Elohim {YeHoWiH}), and specifically Eloah, which created the name Jehovah. Jehovah is merely a combination of the Tetragrammaton (the four consonants: YHWH) and the vowels from another Hebrew word for God (namely: Eloah) arbitrarily placed onto the Tetragrammaton to remind the Jewish reader not to attempt to say the name of God but to say, “Adonay,” instead. It should be noted that words in the Hebrew Scriptures contain consonants only, no vowels, so when the Jewish reader would come upon YHWH, God’s name, he would inadvertently attempt to pronounce the name. Therefore vowels were added to remind the reader to say, “Adonay” instead of “the name” (HaShem). Noted Bible scholar J. B. Rotherham, stated, “To give… YHWH (Latin: IHVH {Iehovah} later JHVH {Jehovah} due to the later addition of the letter J in the seventeenth century) the vowels of the word (Eloah) to remind the Jewish reader to say, “Adonay,” and later to pronounce it “Jehovah,’ is about as hybrid a combination as it would be to spell the name of Germany with the vowels of Portugal-viz., Gormuna” (the Emphasized Bible, J. B. Rotherham, 1994, Kregel Publication, Pp. 24-25). Jehovah in its present form has only existed since the seventeenth century. Fact: God’s essential name is YAH, and Bible scholars acknowledge YAHWEH (for YAH, see Strong’s #3050), as in “Praise YAH,” in Hebrew: “Halleluyah.” YAH is the name above every name (Philippians 2:9). YAH is from the word of HAYAH (I AM). The Savior identified Himself as the I AM (John 8:58). Je-hovah, “hovah” in Hebrew means “RUIN and MISCHIEF,” and “Calamity” (see Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words #1943). “Jehovah” is a monstrous name that means “Ruin and Mischief.” Besides the vowels of Eloah, the Jews also at times used the vowels of Elohim, producing the false name: “Yehovih” (see Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words, #3069), which was done to remind the Jewish reader in the synagogues to say, “Adonay” instead of speaking the name of God. The Jewish Encyclopedia, states, “This name is commonly represented in modern translations by the form Jehovah, which, however, is a philological impossibility” (p. 160). The Jehovah’s Witnesses admittedly make a similar reference that the name Jehovah is inferior in their Book: Let Your Name be Sanctified (p. 16). The name Jehovah is not the name of God! Consequently, the name Jesus is not Christ’s name either. The name of God is so important and apparently lost, that the LORD must restore it. The LORD said, “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD” (Zephaniah 3:9). The apostle Peter testified to only one name, YAHSHUA, for he said, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). To those who reject the true revealed name given to our Savior {YAHSHUA}, there is this warning: “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16). To use a false name not revealed by God as God’s name is tantamount to idolatry. IN HIS TRUTH, Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA! YAHSHUA is not a Philological Impossibility because it is a shortened version of YAHOSHUA.

Great debate. Dr. Brown did an excellent job as always. When the rabbi kept harping on not keeping the law I wish Dr Brown would have emphasized Isaiah 53 a little more for that because the rabbi kept asking for one verse that says a person will die and we don't have to keep the law. Isaiah 53 says that the righteous one by his death will justify man and make many righteous. That is the answer. Because the prophet declared that this righteous one will atone for his people and justify them therefore justification didn't come from the law but from this one. Therefore by this death not by the law were many justified and made righteous providing the answer to the question the rabbi asked for.

Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Eph 6:2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),

I just listened to this 'debate'. I am an ex-born again christian, now agnostic, but I am well versed in the scriptures and take an academic (and still searching) interest.
And...I say that I liked what the Rabbi was trying to do. The jews do not proselytize, they study and understand their scriptures. I think he made good and rational points in defence of what the 'chosen people' believed God was saying/teaching them for thousands of years. One big problem for christians is why Jesus' disciples didn't immediately recognise him as the suffering servant of Isaiah when he told them he was going to have to suffer and die and be raised etc. No...they were pissed off about it. Not one Jew in JC's time said..."Yup! this is the suffering servant we have been taught about in Isaiah for many eons".

You take an academic interest into the scriptures and somehow you don’t see how blatantly unbiblical it is for a Rabbi to say it’s fine for a gentile to believe in what he (the Rabbi) thinks is a false God, doesn’t God say he has made the Jews “a light to the nations?” (Isaiah 42:6-7, Isaiah 49:6) Go and learn what that means.
If you actually studied the scriptures academically you would realize what you said is quite ridiculous, you said: “not one jew said yup this is the suffering servant we’ve been learning about in Isaiah”…
      1) Is Jesus not a Jew? Did he not identify himself as the suffering servant in Isaiah, there’s one… so at the very least you will have to change your statement…
      2) John the Baptist, also identifies Jesus as the suffering servant written about in Isaiah; “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”.
Your statement demonstrates that you have even failed to read the servant song critically why does Isaiah write:
“Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬ ‭
Clearly this suffering servant would have to be “revealed”.

Yes very beautiful point!! Jesus talks about fulfilling the Law by loving God and our neighbor!! The grace of God by the Holy Spirit gives the true love St Paul talks of in 1st Corinthians 13. Without love from God all the keeping of the law is useless!! Humility comes from this submission to God and His mercy and love...not from our human efforts alone though this is also required! We love because he first loved us!! St John said this!!

@@pauljomento8357 it's not an accusation, it's a fact. Dr Brown is just a person who says he grew up in a conservative Jewish home but found Jesus and left his "Jewish up bringing" yet that's our whole argument. He cannot be a Jew anymore because he left the path to adopt a foreign one. He believes exactly the same as anyone calling themselves a Christian. The "virgin birth" for one. Eventhough, our Hebrew scriptures doesn't say anything about one. Isaiah 7:14 in your Christian versions does but not in our original Hebrew. It's purposefully changed by the early Christian editors to convince you of the one you call God the son, the trinity etc...Another, is that a just person can die for the sins of another person or for the sins of the whole world for that matter. Eventhough our Hebrew scriptures does not support such an idea. Not only does it not support it but it does just the opposite, it teaches against it. You can find it in Ezekiel 18:20-24 or Psalms 49:7 and others. Yet, he causes more delusions upon others because he throws his PhD around at everyone as if, having a PhD means he has the truth in his grasp. I can assure you, he doesn't. He is dangerous to unlearned Jewish people and causes Christians to become more delusional because they trust his message. We see right through him and warn others but ultimately it falls on the reciever.

Excellent debate Rabbi. You did great. I especially liked what you did in boiling the basic question to the difference in what our two faiths believe messiah is supposed to do. Brown rarely acknowledges a Jewish answer when given so no sweat. I would comment that which is easier and most logical to believe? That which requires dozens of verses from numerous sources to weave a “Jesus saves” narrative or a simple narrative that specifically says what HaShem expects of us? Pretty simple to me and you made that point clear. My question to Brown would be: is it these “proofs” that you now tout that caused you to believe in Jesus or rather did you convert for another reason and have worked on these “proofs” for years since to support your conversion? It is rare that someone finds Christianity from the Bible, rather they find the Bible after they become Christian.

Also, we Jews don't need a filter through which to answer us on Hebrew terms like you non speaking Hebrew people do. We know Hebrew it's our first language and when Isaiah said henay hara ha-alma yoledet ben he said a young woman has conceived and bore a son not a virgin. The specific term for virgin in Hebrew is betula not ha-alma. Not only do you not know Hebrew but you rely on your Christian editors (the translation of men) for accuracy. We Jews do not need translations because of course, our scriptures were given to us directly from God to Moses in the Hebrew language. You've adopted the lies of Rome, your filter you've perceived to be from Israel 🇮🇱 sorry to give you the bad news.

Mr. Skobac has answered to Dr. Brown that the Jews for Judaism has a non-debating policy and therefore he will not debate with Dr. Brown. Also Mr. Singer after his defeat, as I interpret it, has not accepted new invitations to debate nor given permission to publish the first debate with him and Dr. Brown. He has though debated less known pastors who were not messianic jewish believers of Yeshua. The debate with reformed Rabbi Silver is interesting in its own way to give perspective.
