In this lecture, Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Blumenthal explains the Jewish understanding of the Messiah to the Christian missionary mindset.
In his presentation, the Rabbi emphasizes the principal characteristics of the Messiah, as recorded in the Jewish Scriptures. Isaiah 53; the text most manipulated by the Church, is elucidated by Rabbi Blumenthal.
In addition, he reviews the role of Israel, King David and the Messiah on the basis of the Jewish Bible.

The new testament authors modelled their scripture to fit the messiah. Unfortunately for them they made many mistakes and it is clear they misunderstood the old testament in regards to the Messiah.

I love what you are saying here about worshipping God. So beautiful. Christians and Jews both benefit from much of your message of loyalty to God. But there are some misrepresentations presented on how real Christianity believes, which is: “Yes, people go to God directly, but Jesus being not just a mortal prophet was God who allowed part of Himself to come to Earth and die and that is why we pray through Jesus to God because Jesus essentially is God in flesh.” I’m not saying for Jews to believe that, just saying that many Jews seem to assume to know and actually understand what Christians believe, but it gets misrepresented. We do NOT believe in worshiping a man because we believe that the same God Jews believe in came down in the flesh of Jesus.

When did the first idea of a future messiah come into the scene in the Tanak? After David became king? What book? And time period?
The main purpose of the messiah is to reform the souls inline with heaven, not only for the jewish people.
Isiah 52:8...When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes.
