That last boss fight was MISERABLE. Came here to try to find a way of fighting him that wasn't just trading hits and taking damage every time, but it seems like that's the way the fight was designed, just have to get to him with a bunch of extra lives and tank the unavoidable damage due to the abysmal hit detection. Even the TAS of the game takes a bunch of hits on the last boss. This game was cute and had a lot of fun design elements, but my GOD the last few levels spoiled the experience.
Don't say that about this game or the other ones in the series, those were pretty good games, even if some of the designs do look ugly. I beaten the first game many times before on computers, even when I was little. But, when I first find out this series, there was an old website I found on one our old computers that we used to have where you would play NES and SNES games, except that they didn’t have sound for some reason when I was playing Super Mario World. Back to the point, there was a NES version of this game but it wasn't the same as of the level order. As I grew older, I found out the fact that there were more than one stage in each round, like in round 1, the first stage starts you out in the second from the original instead of the beginning, the second stage takes you the first stage of round 2, and then it takes you to the third stage in a unfamiliar layout. And then in round 4, there were more than one stage before you could fight Punchy Pedro. I think there were 2 or 3 stages before you fought the 4th boss. And then the hit boxes on the 1st, 3rd, and maybe the 4th boss, but not the 2nd boss since Gladdis is kinda hard enough and just constantly kept appearing from midair and disappearing on ground until you get to the 2nd phase where she just hops around , but the others were a little messed up where you could just mentally damage their heads, causing like a speed run tactic. And Bonk's sprite design uses the ones like from Bonk's Revenge, Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure, and Super Bonk, but uses the same sprite designs for the transformations from the first game except recolored. And finally, King Drool's design looked even uglier than in this game, so some of the games aren't really that bad. I know the games aren't really that popular, but you need to appreciate them more.

Best game of all time
I find kongo zilla to be much harder than the others
He certainly is a real bitch with his arms acting like a shield protecting his noggin.

Apparently, you can attack him without taking damage. You have to hit the tip of his nose, but the hitbox is super narrow.
I also managed to get him stuck in the upper right corner for a few seconds and land like 5 hits. Otherwise, I'd have never beat him.
i rage so bad with this final boss

Apparently, he enjoys The Last of Us 2 instead of this series. Not my problem that he's more attracted to Abby than King Drool!
Damn that was close.

they weren't that bad?
because I'm clouded by nostalgia I use the word "charming" instead of ugly
so these games are very "charming"
Who are you responding to?!
I thought his name was that “Bonk” meme
