I LIKE YOU!! 😁 This was a very clear and concise well put together video! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤗 Thank you!
Recommended shutter speed for 60fps would actually be 1/120th, not 1/60th, which could introduce some unnatural motion blur.
hey you are the guy from razor right? I love razor :)
Good information and well-presented, thanks! Isn't the audio slightly out of sync with the video? Since Elgato is in the business, that should be fixed - distracting.
I don't think it's out of sync. People actually see things a very small amount of time behind what they hear
I see it too. at first I didn’t notice because I wasnt paying attention and was multitasking but they should fix that
How do you work around the input lag on a camlink in a zoom conference? I am currently using a camlink with a fuji x-t3 and sometimes even a gopro. But with 0.5s - 1s input lag the video lags behind the audio to such a degree that I would much rather just use a webcam.
Great info, thanks.
Nice hair man
do you need a camera with video capture(video recording) feature to use mirrorless camera as webcam?
also, since zoom supports max 30fps, is there a difference between 30fps/60fps? (should fps fps for taking picture matters? or just video capture?)
i’m on a budget but i need to record my whiteboard. i’ve noticed that when i move away from the whiteboard(proximately 2 meters) the letters on the whiteboard becomes faint and not very clear on screen. i tried smartphone and webcam and they all had this problem. is this because of a zoom feature or cuz it’s not 4k?
Where's the link to alpha gaming's video?
I'm pretty sure it was this one that he referenced: ua-cam.com/video/wjrX8zqz1Og/v-deo.html
@@KI6ESH thanks, Dan!
Great video!, I´m also with a huge window at my back, so if I want to have that balance between the light coming from the window and the light array, is it gonna be enough with just one key light?
You will need 4
You don't want "balance" -- you want the light from the front to be _way brighter_ than the light from the windows. "You will need 4" is a good place to start. For Zoom or Skype, backlight is _evil_.
Just buy curtains and a single light
Hey there! I’ve been searching for the Elgato cam link for months. Can’t find it anywhere.
I have 50 down 10 up and a r5 3600 and a 2060 super but im still sending 160x90 andy ideas (im not host)
Does the HD 60s still work for Zoom 5.0? After the update in April my Blackmagic Capture device stopped working with Zoom (but works in all the other apps)..
Nice information but too much however
2020 just found how to use your MOBILE 📱 Phones used as Web cam videos cool 😎 mobile looks better
Just in case anyone reads this, your shutter speed should actually be twice the frame rate. In the rare case your camera has shutter angle instead, use 180° for everything.
in this case you can actually bump it up because it doesn't really matter
Did you record part of this video with Zoom? I would like to see the image how would look on Zoom.
in a future video, can you guys show how to setup and use the streamdeck for Zoom calls?
Well, "quality" for Zoom is limited by the company, so lighting is really the only thing you're in control of, so the title of this video is quite misleading.
Group HD will activate 720p video quality for the active speaker video layout in a group meeting.
Full high definition video, 1080p, is limited availability for Business and Enterprise plans.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Do you know the framerate of zoom videos? Can it show a 60 fps feed?
However, helpful information.
does zoom suport 4k 30fps my logitech brio does onley full hd (1080p) in zoom
I’m sure this was very helpful for techno savvy ppl, but I didn’t understand this language. I thought I was techno savvy until I watched this video.

I had a question about using an older DSLR as a webcam. I have a Nikon D90 that I hardly use. Could this be used for a webcam?
Bump need answer for this too
From what I can tell, I have the whole setup, zoom degrades the quality so much on the other side it’s all pointless. It looks great for me, from my end, but isn’t the point that it looks good for other people?
Not that bad 1080 from a camera is better than 1080 from a webcam
If only there were any Cam Links to be had...
Get the Magewell ;)
Hi guys! I just want to confirm that the CamLink 4K works amazing with my old A5100, as stated, and I'm also using the Sigma 16mm f1.4, it's a biiiig difference. The most important thing is that the CamLink works perfectly with my USB-C hub (Satechi) with MacBook Pro. People were complaining that it wouldn't so I'm just correcting that. It works!
Dragan Ruzic hi I bought a canon 1500b but it doesn’t work the El GATO and the external mic,any ideas??
@@rtor16 Sorry, I've never owned a Canon, but the CamLink should work with any camera model that has an HDMI output. I've heard some Canons don't even nned the capture card but can work through USB. Good luck!
U explained somethings clearly I have never understood what they are..Thanks sir!
"However"
Hahahaha... totally thought the same thing 🤣
wow My guy look like he talking straight from the alien ship cockpit
HOWEVERRRRRR!
Sooooooo
Goes through the hassle of setting up a green screen to hide a messy room. Puts up another messy room background. Great video, thanks!
I love this
Lmao I thought it was me. I was like wait... that room is STILL MESSY! Hahah
problem with DLSR as WEBCAM is that the audios dont sync!
nice idea.. but not practical for zoom or conference calls.
You can plug a Mic into your camera…
@elgato when are you guys going to have the multi mount back in stock
Two
Hi. Is there a way to zoom in or zoom out the camera in the meetings?
does anyone have a camera/ webcam recommendation that would be good for my zoom classes that isn't too expensive?
sophia . If you're just being shown as one in many, you don't need huge resolution as your picture will be small. For normal conference calls, lighting matters - get that right and even a Logitech C920 will be enough. I've a dimmable LED light behind a diffuser screen (about £40 together) behind my monitor to give an adjustable softlight when I'm sitting down. If you need to illuminate a larger area for demonstrations, you'll need more lamps either side of the camera. Also think about the microphone if audio is important.
An expensive camera can help make a poorly lit scene acceptable, but proper lighting will make a cheap camera acceptable (and a good camera excel).
@@AndrewSmall963 thank you so much!!
And Stop saying WHATEVER!
I think that was the best breakdown of shutter speed! Liking and subbing. God bless
my HD60 doesn't appear as a webcam input source on the video settings of Zoom or Skype, but does in OBS and Elgato's own software. What am I doing wrong ?
Can I have a 4k capture card Plzzzzzzz
When I use the same good quality input in Zoom calls the video look horrible! :-( Using A6500 + 10-18mm at f4, ISO 400, plenty of studio lights!
Hey great video man. I have on order a Sony a6400 with the Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens. I am wanting to create selfie talking head videos but also want to improve my video quality on Zoom, FaceTime etc rather than using my current Logitech C920. I purchased an Elgato Camlink 4k in readiness and I when I saw "The man from Elgato" showing my pending rig, I got excited thinking you would show the Calming 4k product and how to hook it up with the most optimum settings. But you didn't. I presume you have already made such a video. If so please can you send me the link. Thanks man. Peter.
just like to ask is it possible to setup two or more Elga o gaming cam Link 4K at the same time? like with i'm baking 1st cam see the hold picture 2th cam above me and the 3th cam when flim my hand what i'm doing? If Yes do i need to buy 3 X Elga o gaming cam Link 4K?. I hope to hear from you.
Very useful info on how to get “properly lit!” 🔥🔥🔥
Sure, I'll just shit 500 bucks
Place your computer desk 5ft in front of a big window. You face outside, enjoy the view, and have diffused sunlight shine on your face. Assuming your notebook computer's webcam is directly pointed to your face, your video quality should improve immensely.
Wow, really well explained with the perfectly timed cutaway. Thanks 👍👍👍
Hello...I am using DSLR Camera and plugged to Zoom via USB 3 capture dongal, when I see the my video in zoom as a host the video Quality i can see is Full HD but the Participants are not able to see that same video quality I can, I

Have Logitec 920. When used w Zoom, BlueJeans etc camera controls are not accessible? Any work around?
Can I use my Sony Handycam for a webcam? I have a Dell laptop with a poor quality camera.
The lighting looks good. Then why the excessive room reverberation? The sound quality leaves much to be desired.
TMI for a novice. Just need to know simply what to use and why.
Primero :3
Don't you just hate it when people take the "move your arms around" advice a little too far?
How does your DSLR stay longer than 30mn without turn off itself?
You need dummy battery for your, mirorless, dslr camera then will be able to film for hours without any problem.
You need a camera that doesn’t have a 30 minute shut off. Most Sony cameras do not have that limit like some cheaper Canons do. It’s a tax import issue...they pay less in taxes for photography cameras vs film cameras. Elgato has a list on their site to help you pick one that doesn’t have a limit.
Nice jazz hands.
O.k but what type of camera lens is applicable....a 35mm or 50mm lens?
If you have a Canon they just released a software that lets you use a wide range of models as your web cam
for fitness classes whats best to use so the focus stays sharp even with fast movements?
Im a fitness instructor i use canon m50
James Corden!!!
Hello there! Am I able to use this and some hack with the Nikon 3100?
However…
what is this thing calles that attaches the camera to the desk?
I bought a Sony a7s iii just to use it as a webcam
can it work for gotomeeting or webinar ?
If Manny Delgado was from elgato
does the elgato work well connected via USB to a linux machine?
The sony your talking about is not good
how do you connect computer with your camera
Better remember these for my next video call
do you have to have a camera to stream

You know this would be great if you would show how to connect and use your gear with dsrl
Here you have something to start with, ua-cam.com/video/U870pZLHQzI/v-deo.html, I hope it serves you well...
how do you manage for the monitor you sit behind producing so much light on its own?
What stand do u have the camera mounted too above the monitor
Elgato Multi Mount e.lga.to/multimount
does this work on hangouts
How to not get scam by china ? 1st don’t use zoom 2nd don’t use tiktok 3. don’t play pubg
Great video. Q for you. In thumbnail for this video, you have a desktop mounted camera stand. I’m looking for that exact stand that clamps onto the side of the desk. Can you please post a link to that? I searched all over Amazon and couldn’t find this. Thx!!
I believe that's the Elgato Multi Mount, but it may be hard to get your hands on. Another option is the Arkon Camera Clamp on Amazon. Hope this helps!
@@justjayk160 Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for this video. I'm using a Sony A6400 to stream live video's in Zoom for our webinars and I noticed the picture wasn't that great and the video lagged with the speakers mouth. Do you have any idea how to get a better picture or the settings I could use to get a better picture quality?
I second this comment.
Even with 180° shutter and correct exposure, there's still problems. I've checked the Statistics tab in the settings menu, and my "Send FPS" and "Send Resolution" are abysmal - 15fps on average and 960x540...
While a good video, are we talking about better image for a freaking work call??? Who the hell is going to dump $3-4-500 into a kit for a better work call LOLOLOL
Ummm maybe those of us that get paid to present professionally... a $500 investment to look presentable for a series of $1k digital speaking engagements... math checks out to me!
Frank The Rook well now that makes sense. But the title reaches out to the masses, so a little misleading. Again, it was a good video for peeps making vids as you mentioned above.
Love your lights, what are they?
I assume you mean the two lights above the monitors behind him. Those are Elgato's "Key Lights." I don't have any but I've heard they're nice.
I'm still using Game Capture HD. Can I stream to Zoom? I only see my Web Cam in the Zoom settings?
Source Media You need to use a tool like OBS Webcam
Thxx for the video... I was really looking for a content like this, but as I watched the video, I noticed something... if am supposed to say this, me would like to leave a small additional thought... (learned photography more than a decade ago, figured out a lot of people on UA-cam sometimes meaning it right, but using the wrong thoughts for the explanation)... at 1:15 - 1:35 you are talking about: 'a whole lot of light' -- later you say : 'what is'nt gonna let in much light'... the thing is, the aperture lets neither much nor little light in, it lets in the light for a less or longer time. Why? Because the amount of light that's let in is always the same. This means that the film (chip) is only exposed longer with the same amount of light. Sorry but the way a lot of people talking about aperture and exposure time sounds unfortunately confusing even if you don't mean it that way... So me wouldn't use the terms much or little, but longer or shorter... Whether if I expose shorter or for example longer the same amount of light falls on my chip, but it has the ability to 'take longer light' not 'a whole lot of light' and thus makes the image appear brighter. To achieve this in turn, there is the help of tripods etc. ... Greets from Germany and thanks for the video ;D
The longer it’s open, the more photons are let in, hence “more light.” You’re talking about brightness or lumens.
@@nukesean Well I am talking about the fact that the amount of photons does not exceed a certain value at the actual moment, but this value always remains the same. You can imagine it like this. If someone who is heavy sits down on a wobbly chair and the chair breaks down after about 5 minutes, then two factors are responsible for this. One is the heaviness of the body and the time it took for it to happen. Which means. During this time the person has not become heavier, but the longer time has contributed to the fact that the chair has collapsed after 5 minutes. That's what I meant. That's exactly the point. You can say the exposure time and/or the open or closed aperture make my photo brighter or darker. But the decisive factor is the length of time it takes and not the amount of light. So not more light ist the key but more brightness the longer it takes exactly ;D
That backlight is really unnecessary
"However" is the most used word in this video. Please try to reduce the amount of repeated words for each sentences. I learned that the hard way when I was writing essays back in school.
why??? who cares about the quality for business and zoom meetings?
can play a drinking game with the word "however" in this video.
It’s a zoom call - not a Project Runway photoshoot
